The filter is a plastic that warps. Falls apart and separates at the threaded middle seem and distorts at the threaded neck that meets the brass tube. It cannot be fixed and must be replaced. There are NO REPLACEMENT PARTS AVAILABLE.
The Belgium maker is awesome but this model/brand is fatally flawed. Do not buy. Spend more on a better quality product.
Also, flask capacity allows for approximately less than 2 cups of coffee, about half a cup of prepared coffee is lost in the glass where the filter and tube do not reach the bottom of the glass. Prep time is approx 20 minutes, time to boil the flask represents 99% of the time needed to make coffee.
