   Husband is very unpleased. Love it at first until he finally taken it out of the box to use it and found out that it is either a refurbished one or been used many of times. Top where pour water is croded, rusted, dent in front of the coffee maker. For the price I paid for it I thought it come in better shape than this. Very unsatisfied. Will not recommend ordering this coffee pot. “Do Not Buy! One can come down ill with the shape it came in. Worked for awhile then worked no more. Not worth the price and waste of good money.

   I ordered this to replace a similar Krups combo coffee/espresso maker that stopped making coffee after years of reliable service. It is a great combination coffee/espresso maker if you want to use both and are short of counter space. Unfortunately, as a remanufactured item, I had some issues with this particular item that could not be solved through a product exchange: The tip of the steamer nozzle was chromed onto the tube, which would prevent me from being able to remove the tip to clean it from clogs due to milk or water particulate, thereby rendering it useless for steaming milk. A replacement item came with the exact same problem. The company advised me to discard the items and promised a refund, though months later, I still have not received a credit.

   I bought this a year ago and it has endured steady use ever since. I can say this is a solid 3-star product. Like it, don’t love it. It performs admirably considering the price point. It can make a decent espresso. The process is a little cumbersome at first, but once you learn it, it’s not so bad. It’s a matter of adding the right amount of water and then hurriedly switching over to steam setting with your milk at the ready. I do wish the steam nozzle was just a tad bit longer.
   The coffee maker is my biggest gripe. It does its simple job, but more often than not, the extreme temperature change in the water during brewing causes a TON of condensation which leaks out all over the counter. To me, this is the biggest design flaw. But, because you’re paying $100 for a combo maker, quality had to be sacrificed somewhere I suppose. A long-winded way of saying you get what you pay for. Does it do as advertised? Yes. Is the construction quality on the cheaper side because of the price point? Also yes.

   **UPDATED REVIEW: Changed to one star because we got so fed up with it this morning we literally put it in the Goodwill pile. The revolving filter door is TOO TIGHT for the structure and is difficult to close and the filter does not stay in place. We went to get a cup of coffee from it, and saw that yet again the filter had folded over onto itself inside and coffee grinds/drippage was everywhere. I think this has the capability to be a good product. It is sleek and compact, but it is simply not functional, which is the main objective. *FIRST REVIEW : 2 stars for being nice to look at. However, functionally, it has been disappointing. The pot and filter pocket are too close together and you can’t pull out the filter portion without knocking the pot off kilter. It’s so tight that the filter itself often folds over on itself (even when you set it w/ the filter ‘strap’) and the coffee comes out looking like tea 1 out of 3 times b/c of this (b/c when it folds over, it is essentially double-filtered). Also when the coffee is through brewing and you take the pot off the warmer, there is always still a trickling stream of coffee that pours onto the burner, scorching the warmer. I wanted to see if it had a “break-in” period, but it has been consistently like this. I’m bummed it is no longer eligible for return.

   What’s this 3 star stuff? Keep all parts clean and move plastic parts gently. No prob. Here are my EFL ESPRESSO directions: 1) Fill metal one cup measure or pitcher with 1/3 cup 2% milk and place in freezer, see photo A. 2) Fill Espresso filter cup with 2-4 coffee measures, more for robust flavor 3) Gently tamp down coffee (I use a bent tiny spoon) see photo C. 4) Attach to bottom of machine 5) Swivel out steam nozzle 6) Rotate upper side knob to cup diagram 7) Fill carafe with desired water and add to chamber 8) Place carafe under spigot so pulls straight out, see photo C. 9) Press lowest power button on Espresso side of unit (red light comes on) 10) Turn off knob and button. Enjoy fine Espresso. TO FROTH? 1) Gently open steam chamber, add 1/2 carafe cup of water 2) power Espresso unit on 3) remove milk cup from freezer 4) set side upper knob to steam, see photo B. 5) Immediately place milk cup under nozzle and slowly swirl, stop after some 10 seconds of vigorous bubbling until thick 6) add to coffee and enjoy OR pour cup of creamed coffee over half cup of crushed ice in a Bullet machine container and mix 3 seconds for a delicious iced latte. 7) clean nozzle by steaming into cup of water.

   Disappointed that after two plus years of use, the hinges broke. Pictures show the tiny hinges and the places where they are mounted. This is so unacceptable but this is just part of our throwaway world.

    After three uses the face of the controls fell off, very flimsy, do not think it will last long, love the feature of having a coffee and espresso machine together, I had a west bend dual maker for years just wore it out, very disappointed in this KRUPS unit, with the name I thought it would be a good machine, I have returned the coffee maker.

    What a horrible unit. The coffee tastes over heated and the faceplate has fallen off. The mechanics of the coffee basket and the way you fill the water is complicated at best. I genuinely think I hate an appliance because of this thing! Lol sad.
