Good price and I’ve had no big problems. I use for cold brew so far so I cannot speak for breakage with hot water … we’ll see soon. Two things I dislike: 1- it leaves a lot of sludge in the coffee and i then use a paper filter 2- the lid does not fit tightly so it slides up when i pour. Would I buy again? Probably not, but for now it’s ok.

I received this French press this morning. I was very excited to use it to make cold brew coffee. I unpackaged it and it looked quite nice. However when I added the grounds and the water and tried to lower the filer I noticed there was a small defect. It was definitely large enough to let a substantial amount of grinds through the filter. No problem, I thought, maybe I’ll just use it to make loose leaf tea and use a smaller French press I had before to make cold brew coffee. Well when I went to put boiling water into THIS French press, it cracked sending boiling water all over my hand!!! Highly dissatisfied!!! Not only was the product not useful for its intended purpose due to poor quality, but that poor quality injured me! I can’t believe such a bad press got through quality control! Avoid this thing, please, there are so many better products out there!

Beware that the glass is very thin and can crack fairly easily. After about two months of ownership and fairly infrequent use (at most 15 presses) the glass insert cracked (without being overly aggressive or handling improperly). I only hand washed this item.
With that said, it certainly works fine as a press – if you’re in need of a cheap glass press this should work fine – just use extra caution when washing/handling so that it lasts longer than mine did.

My first press…. I was looking for something for my travel trailer that didn’t require a generator and I cant seem to get the percolator down. This has to be the most basic coffee maker of all time and the best cup of coffee! I will never take it from the trailer I love it

For price and base functionality, this French Press is worth it. It seems very sturdy and I have used it several times now. It is not as nice as the presses that have a hotplate, however you aren’t paying for that feature either.
I think French Presses should replace coffee makers. Sure they are a bit more hands on, however they are much easier to clean, and the coffee is always more flavorful using a French Press. This specific model is a good one to test out if you are curious.
