   the container is indeed stainless steel. the center plunger post and top are not. the photo shows the metal oxidization that comes from lightly wiping the center post. the same will happen with the inside portion of the top. i’ve tried several units and find the same on the less expensive units (though I paid almost $60 for this trash). also the box says 52oz, but the inside of the pot has a max. fill line at 45oz. be aware of the garbage out there unless you prefer your coffee with metal scum.

   This product looks good but the press creates a vacuum which makes it almost impossible to press down and it dangerously comes out of spout. My husband actually got second degree burns on his Abdomen from this product

   I usually brew about 900 grams of coffee each morning. Even though the press keeps the coffee hot/warm for a couple of hours, I immediately transfer it to a double-walled thermos. I’ve been using the press now for a few weeks. I have the large size in black. Looks great, easy to use, and easy to clean. Very happy with this product.

   It is not dishwasher safe. The black finish peels. Looks ugly!

   I mostly love this french press. My primary disappointment with it is that after a little over a year of ownership, the paint has started peeling from the top! The aesthetic of the matte black finish was really important to me and now it feels as though I’m stuck with this ugly (yet practical) french press. I’m keeping it around for now, but I’m not happy about it.
