   I don’t often write reviews, but felt I needed to give credit where due. I bought this coffee maker on coffeemakers.us.com on February 22, 2015, and used it daily for 9 years. It is wonderfully satisfactory. Grinding whole beans just before brewing is the simplest way to make a better cup of coffee. eDone by this machin with minimal effort. Pour in the water, select the number of cups and press the button. Cleaning is easy, rinsing basket, and carafe. Just refill with coffee beans about once/week. Obviously not for someone who is a gourmet, and wants their coffee made a precise temperatures or other high end approaches. But for someone who just wants a good cup of coffee daily, this is perfect, and astonishingly durable in our current environment of throw away appliances. Kudos to Capresso.

   1. ah ready to pour your coffee and make a mess. The carafe has an internal lip that makes pouring all the coffee into your cup impossible without spilling. We have used Jura-Capresso for years and loved the machines. This one has so many design flaws. 2. No external water gauge, we are old, add water, turn around, forget, add more, surprise! 3. One prominent plastic lever that controls pouring and opening the lid. Way to easy to break off! 4. To add fresh grounds you must remove the carafe completely. 5. The water reservoir has a hole near the top maybe as overflow protection, but I can imagine thirsty water seeking critters using it.

   This product malfunctions – the grinder intermittently works. The problem started after the 30 day period allowed to return the item. There is a 1 year warranty? However you have to sit on the phone for up to one hour for Jura to answer. coffeemakers.us.com has an A to Z policy that if the seller will not allow a return – they file the insurance to refund your money. coffeemakers.us.com then denies your refund because you didn’t request a return prior to the 30 days. There was no problem prior to 30 days – the problem started aprox 45 days later and continues. It is intermittent so I don’t know when I have coffee at home that morning or is I have to buy coffee on my way to work. This is definitely a Catch 22 situation. Now I am out $253+ and I have to buy a new coffee maker that I will not buy from coffeemakers.us.com. After all the years of being a member, this is how you are repaid by coffeemakers.us.com. I rarely return items and when I really need it returned, they refuse.

   I had a problem with the first one, had planned to return it and buy a second to see if it was a one-off production issue. Company reached out to me and suggested a rare issue I could never have “troubleshoot-ed” for, so they replaced it. The new one is perfect and the coffee is DELICIOUS.
