This portable coffee maker is incredibly useful for those who can’t live without coffee. It comes with a built-in large-capacity battery, allowing you to enjoy coffee no matter where you are. It works with both ground coffee and coffee capsules and supports both cold brew and hot brew. I’m very satisfied with its performance. I keep it in my RV for convenient use.

Firstly, this is really more ideal /aimed at perhaps a walker or someone going off grid who wants a fresh, good shot of coffee on their journey with no time pressure.
We tried two tests on this from a fully charged battery – one from cold and one with hot water. Still testing the timings and battery so will update this info when we have it but if you can take a flask of hot water with you to use if you plan on having multiple coffees whilst out and about, then pre-heated water will save a lot of battery power. Apparently you only get 4 shots of coffee from one charge using cold water but quite a few more from using hot.
Findings…
– instructions were a bit confusing as the translation is poor, but I watched a video online for a different brand (but the same type of machine) which was easier to follow.
– we used ground coffee as we don’t have any pods but pods are handier when out and about so the dual option is good.
– you don’t have to hold the machine over the plastic lid/cup because it’s designed to sit into it, so you can leave it to work on its own We only did ours over an espresso cup so you could visibly see the coffee coming out.
– it produced a very flavourful coffee with good extraction and that was with a hand ground coffee which wasn’t quite an espresso grind so this may produce more flavour.
Conclusion…
– I know plastic is more durable but a thermos lined cup would be much better than this single plastic one which doesn’t retain the heat. It’s a single shot though so it probably won’t last that long but it will lose heat straight away.
– good for one person but takes too long for two as each shot can take 4-6 minutes (50/70ml shot) to produce.
– it’s quite a weight unit and large. So if taking hiking bear that in mind.
Overall, this would be ideal used in a camper or car where you have power for recharging and/or access to hot water to speed it up. It’s hard to get an espresso without a proper machine and this is the closest we have come to it as a portable device so we are quite impressed with it.
For £90 at the time of my review, it would be worth it.
