   This K cup coffee maker has a split personality. While trying to imitate the style of European espresso coffee pot, it uses K cups to make coffee, and although it can make expresso-like coffee, it takes some effort to do so. The instruction isn’t too clear, but eventually I figured it out. it’s probably easier to stick with the K-cup function, but why use this, harder to clean unit rather than a Keurig? In any event, you must not put too much water, otherwise it will squirt out. I thought the electric unit would make it easier, but it does not.

   The Good: -Mostly metal construction -Easy to clean -Simple setup -One button run -Fast -Backup gaskets -Comes with ground basket -K-cup compatible (just in case you use them but why?) The OK: -Instructions aren’t super clear about all steps (enough to figure it out but things like how much water to add take practice) -Coffee extraction is not like an espresso machine (no crema and isn’t even in the same ballpark for flavor) The Bad: -Coffee can explode out and get all over the place (really depends on how much water you have and the ground pack) -Coffee is extracted very hot If you’re looking for a pressurized coffee maker that doesn’t require a stovetop this guy has some advantages with at least equal quality. It’s very easy to use only requiring you add water, coffee and assemble the unit’s (4?) parts. The instructions aren’t super clear on the amount of water to use but I’d recommend measuring out what you want to drink because it will extract basically all you add. There is also no information on how to dose the coffee pod but I’m sure it’s basically up to you on how packed you make it but it can impact the force of the extraction. I had one instance where it shot out and ended up all over the counter but with less water it tends not to be an issue. When it comes to flavor, I’m not certain it’s significantly better than a French press and doesn’t even compare to a true espresso shot. There is no visible crema and it lacks that depth you get with an espresso machine. It is compatible with the standard K-cups but I’m not sure it’s worth using them since you’ll get a similar experience to the standard machines. I’d say overall, the unit is built well and does exactly what it’s designed to do quickly. If you like this type of extraction, it’s an easy upgrade in speed from the stovetop options.

   This was bought to be used in my office and in almost every way it has fulfilled my wants and expectations. It makes *excellent* coffee. The process can be a little loud if you’re in a cube farm, but most k-cup coffee machines can, so that isn’t a deal breaker at all. It is super easy to clean. However… it gets really freaking hot to the touch and you have to be careful how you pour because the spout is short and can sometimes spill/dribble. I would not send this back for the heat problem–I can be trained to be more careful–but sometimes in the morning when there’s too much blood in my caffeine system I forget and it can be a rude wake-up call when I bump it bare-handed.

   It comes with a refillable k cup so you can use any coffee. It’s not that difficult to use and it doesn’t take very long till it’s delicious. The first time I used it ,wasn’t a successful try. It explosively came to a boil and leaked everywhere. I had it tight but I think it developed a little too much pressure. The second time it leaked on one side ,just as the coffee boils. Third time is the charm! I may need a thicker bowl gasket. I love coffee so I’m going to figure this out because this is an awesome coffee maker! It’s also very affordable . I refuse to get rid oof this. I will make it function.

   I want to love this but I don’t. To start, the instructions are terrible. It leaks but I’m probably not using it correctly. All-in-all, there are much easier and simpler solutions for brewing coffee, and this doesn’t fit my lazy lifestyle.

   This espresso-maker works, though it’s unusual that it uses K-cups. The system also comes with a reusable k-cup so you can put your own ground beans into it. Note the instructions say to wash all the parts with soap and water, then brew three times before making coffee to drink. Also the water tank should not be filled up past the safety valve, though it’s hard to tell the maximum water level from within the tank unless you look carefully for the safety valve inside while pouring water in. I tried two brews using a popular decaf K-cup, but the unit leaked both times from the center section. I replaced the silicone gasket, as the system came with a spare, but the maker still leaked slightly on my third attempt at brewing. For my third attempt I tried a regular caffeinated k-cup, and reduced the water used to 6 oz from 8 oz. The unit did not leak as much. There was still a leak but only a few drops of coffee. The lower water basin gets real hot, over 220 degrees fahrenheit, and the brewed coffee comes out at 180 degrees in the upper chamber. The coffee completes brewing in about 7 minutes. I tried the coffee and it looked dark, and tasted OK, if not a little burnt. I realize espresso is brewed at high temperatures, so maybe the burnt-like taste is normal. I don’t usually drink coffee that strong, so cI ould not really tell if this was a good espresso-quality cup I brewed or not. Ideally one would need to experiment with different coffee roasts in k-cup format to see which brand or blend would work best with this machine. If you like K-cup coffee format and experimenting with different coffee roasts, and like espresso-style coffee then you might like this machine. For me I prefer my regular K-cup coffee maker so will stick with it, instead.

    While I ended up loving this item, when it arrived it took awhile to figure out- as there were no instructions and I had no idea how to use an item like this! I looked all over the Internet for anything that could tell me how to use this item but there was nothing that I found that even remotely gave me the idea what to do to get this item working. In the end I looked at the item and just thought about what to do and how things fit- and my husband and I just ended up, luckily, figuring it out.

    Of course the water goes in the bottom because when coffee percolates- it rises to the top. There is a part that fits inside the water and a rubber top that goes over the bottom of the pot- but after that part is situated, you get the top of the pot ready. Your k cup (which I believe I call a one cup in my video review, not remembering what to call it, at the time I made the video) goes in the top portion of this pot and it is turned upside down. When you screw the top of the pot back to the bottom, before you turn your pot on to make coffee, others might think having the k-cup sit upside down would make it hard to do this- but it’s not!

    And actually this pot makes the strongest, best cup of coffee I have ever had. Plus, I don’t even fill up half the k-cup to get my coffee strong. When it comes to making coffee in this item, you can see how small the base of the pot is in my video, so the cup of coffee is small. When I make a cup of coffee in this item it fits in a general tea cup. But it is still a satisfying cup of coffee- and a good cup of coffee.

    Overall, this item works great and I’ve had it for over three months and am loving it. When it comes to the star rating that I gave the item, please know that the star that I took off doesn’t have to do with the performance of the item- the reason I took off the star is because of the lack of instructions. When you have never percolated before, figuring how to use an item like this took a lot of time. And there doesn’t seem to be other items exactly like this one on the market- so looking to other’s product’s didn’t help.

    This is a review for: “Single Serve Coffee Maker for K Cup & Ground Coffee, Electric Espresso Coffee Maker, Portable Cafeteras Electricas Modernas, Electric Moka Pot with Detachable Base & Overheat Protection (150ml)” Ever since several years ago that I saw a similar looking coffee maker in Target I have wanted one of these. The problem was the one I saw was a stove top boil kettle and the only one I could locate online was a 220V European style plug. I could find zero details on the voltage and or photos of the plug so I took a chance ordering this. I was pleased to see a standard US style plug. As to the coffee maker itself it looks nice and seems to be great build quality. It looks very complicated when taking apart so you will need to follow the directions to make sure all is back together. Makes a great cup of coffee although a bit small which is expected.

    Yes, it’s a nice machine. Hot coffee,Small, easy to clean . My problem is it’s to small and if you want another cup you have to wait for the machine to cool down. If you drink a full cup of coffee. More then 8 oz. Get the bigger one.

    It’s not the quietest coffee maker, but it works pretty well all the same. It’s perfect for a single cup, and because of the limited volume it heats up pretty quick. It’s stylish and convenient; disassembly for cleaning is easy. I took mine to work and it’s perfect.
