   As a premium coffee making experience this French Press has just replaced my tried and true (cheaper) press. I’ve become used to a certain amount of coffee grounds when doing hot or cold pressed coffee with my original French Press. This unit has tight specifications, no grinds got through. The double walled construction held the temperature for more than an hour and it produced a very smooth cup of coffee. The color, shape, and design are classics and make this a device I will gladly pull out to make company a cup of coffee, or used when I know I want to really relax and just enjoy the coffee. Easy clean up. All in all it has stepped up my French Press Coffee making experience.

   I bought this less than a year ago. See the picture. This press has never seen the inside of a dishwasher, always hand washed. This is disgraceful for something so expensive.

   I ordered this French press to finally make a decent cup of coffee. As convenient as our Keurig machine may be, the quality of the coffee cannot match what comes out of this press. It really is night and day! The smooth green finish of this press is a great match for the green pattern we have in our kitchen backsplash. This is a great looking press that just looks like it belongs in our home. The press does not come with any accessories. What you see in my pictures is what you get. I shied away from a glass French press knowing that the double-walled insulating properties of this French press will keep the coffee hot while it sits. On that front it does not disappoint and I am happy with its heat performance. While the press is advertised as making as much as 34 oz. of coffee, I have not made more than 24 oz. at a time to date. I have not made any adjustments to the instructions so far: – Add 2 tablespoons ground coffee for every 8 oz. of water – Pour in near boiling hot water and stir well with a long spoon – Cap the press with the plunger all the way up – Wait 4 minutes and then press the plunger slowly down until it goes no further – Pour and enjoy! The result is a creamy, smooth coffee. I am not a coffee connoisseur so I cannot describe the end product any better than that. I can only say that I wish I had a French press on hand years ago as I have clearly been missing out. The instructions do not mention if the press is dishwasher safe. I tend to hand wash stuff like this so either way it is not a concern for me. Due to my lack of experience with French presses in general, I am not able to compare this to others. All I can say is that I am extremely happy with this model and hope to enjoy it for years to come. UPDATE: I forgot to include a picture of the pieces that make up the plunger. The bottom piece unscrews to allow cleaning of the 4 layers, 2 of which are made up of fine screen material. While I have washed the plunger without taking it apart, I find that it is good to take it apart after a few uses to give them a good cleaning. Some very fine grounds can find their way in there. UPDATE: We’ve been using this press for about 6 months now, averaging 5 to 6 times a week. I still love it! The press body and parts have shown no wear and the whole thing is still like new. Still the best coffee related item I’ve ever ordered.

   Purchased to replace the glass version of a French Press received with an order of ground cacao – as Frieland claims, the brewed beverage does retain heat nicely, and the enamel version I bought looks and feels sturdy. I have not yet tried to clean the unit yet, but I imagine the result will be somewhat messy, a small price to pay for the nice result. I was surprised that the plunger went all the way to contact the lid, but the grounds produced a rich beverage, so I believe the grounds were sufficiently compressed. Totally worth the price for the smooth interior and tight fit of the plunger unit.

   I LOVE LOVE LOVE this French Press. It’s quality is top-notch!!! Perfect. Tight perfect fit of lid and plunger; doesn’t drip, ever; keeps coffee warm. This type of workmanship is what I always look for in products but rarely ever see these days. The sandstone blends well with my white kitchen, woods, copper + black accents. I couldn’t be happier with this product. I’ve officially stored my much loved OXO Brew coffee maker to get away from possible hidden toxins.

    Although this is attractive, visually, and appears to be made of the same double walled stainless steel that Frieling is known for, THIS DOES NOT HAVE THE GENUINE FRIELING FILTRATION SYSTEM THAT MAKES FRIELING FRENCH PRESS COFFEE SO MUCH BETTER TASTING! It has the same cheap double filtration system, that most of the other far less expensive stainless double walled French presses have absolutely no need to pay for Frieling if you don’t get their unique filter assembly! This is NOT disclosed anywhere in description. I in fact, on the Frieling website if you look up the real filtration system under replacement parts, it states
    “All Frieling French Presses shipping after August 2016 already come equipped with this new patented filtration kit.
    Choose the size that fits your French Press”! Mine is being returned to coffeemakers.us.com the same day it arrived.

    I could not imagine buying a French press at this price point, but I get it now. It’s solid and all metal. It’s a great size as well. I don’t make coffee in this, I use it to brew that Cacao coffee alternative and this works great! You choose how long it can steep for and no computer to break after a year. It’s easily cleanable after each cup and I didn’t find any grinds in my cup. Not one particle. It’s easy to use. Put the grinds in, pour hot water in. Stir. Put the top on and let it steep. Stir again if you want. Steep again if you want. Slowly press the plunger down and pour away. Your hesitation at the cost is understandable, but I haven’t seen quality construction and an all metal build in anything lately. It creates a great seal with the plunger mesh and will make noise as you push it down. No problem with how well it catches all the particles.

    I was initially very excited to get my Frieling French press! I’ve heard great things about this brand online and have seen it for sale at boutique home good shops. However, mine arrived in disappointing condition. There’s a scratch on top of the lid and the enamel has chips and uneven coverage around the rim of the lid and kettle. This is absolutely not acceptable for this price point. Being a high reputed German brand, I thought they’d have higher production standards. I’d say get the regular stainless steel finish and not the enamel one. I’m afraid that if my press is already in this state, the peeling will continue to get worse with wash and wear. Insofar as performance, this has a very nice heft to it and throughly presses out grounds. The metal screens fit quite snuggly and there is a squeaky sound when it’s being pressed. A bit more “sound effect” than my usual ceramic press, but I don’t mind that, it’s because the contact around the jug is secure. I do like the size and esthetic design of this press. There’s also no dripping/dribbling from the lip after you pour. The white color I chose looks more “bone” or “off-white” in person. I took a photo with it next to my white kitchen cabinets to show. If the enamel damages on my press where not present, this would be an easy 5 stars.

    I purchased this in September. The enamel is peeling around the rim. I contacted Frieling directly since I can’t return the item through coffeemakers.us.com. No response. I contacted them again and will update my review if they respond and swap it out for me. Other than the enamel issue, I like the coffee maker. Hopefully they will take care of me. UPDATE – Thanks to Debi and Konji! I now have a new coffee maker. I went without the enamel finish. I’m a happy customer.

    I ordered this lovely green Double Walled French Press Coffee Maker, as I have always heard of “french press” but never tried it. It looked like a very well-made french press, which was bigger than I’d seen others. It also said it was “double-walled” which they claim keeps the beverage hotter for a longer time. Although, they clearly say not to use boiling water(not sure why). It is made out of stainless steel so it will not break on you and should last for years and years. I followed the instructions it came with, but also the instructions on the beverage I was using(brewed cocoa). Before use, as recommended, I gently washed the french press out. It comes in six beautiful colors, and the green I got is a nice muted sage green. It brews a fine cup of beverage(cocoa, tea, coffee) and is very sturdy and classy. I went back to it after a few minutes to pour a little more and see if it holds the heat. Unfortunately, the beverage was just a “lukewarm” temperature. I did start with hot water but perhaps it could have been hotter. I was just trying to follow their instructions of not using boiling water. The quality is exceptional, but I think the price is a little too high. Although you do get what you pay for.

    This French press oozes quality and beauty. I was amazed how well the Lagoon Blue press looked out of the box. This is one of only a handful of kitchen items I will leave out purely for its aesthetics. Coming from glass French Press’s this this is like a tank. The construction is solid on every piece. From the handle to the plunger and lid everything fits together tight and precise. Even the plungers screen is better than any I have used. Their description is spot on when they say you will not get any grinds in your coffee. After more than 10 uses I have not had any grinds get past the screen. The No Drip spout has poured without any issues and the double wall design has helped to keep the coffee at a constant temperature during brewing. I have not had a single issue with the French Press and am greatly impressed with not only its looks but its quality.

    This French press is very sturdy and well made. It has double-wall construction for good insulation and weighs just over 2 pounds. It features a tight fitting double screen which means that no coffee grounds slip past the press. The lip is chamfered so that even with a snug fit, it’s easy to get the screen started. Overall this press makes a great cup of coffee. The shiny, bright yellow paint is inviting and the robust design is sure to impress.

    For the price, I was hoping for coffee magic to happen and for this to produce the best French press coffee ever to have been made. But I found that there are pluses and minuses to this design. The cheery and bright color is really inviting, and if you need some coffee you also could probably use a cheery and bright greeting in the kitchen. The steel is sturdy and heavy and the enamel is good quality as is the screen filter. If you drop this it won’t break. It’s also heavy, but if you’re car camping and not backpacking, this is a great choice for an unbreakable coffee press that will probably not be bothered by a knock on the ground. It is double-walled, so it’s really well insulated. The coffee stays warm for over an hour. If you add milk or stir in sugar, it will just be lukewarm and not hot any more, depending on ambient temperature. So it’s not going to keep your coffee hot for a long time if you’re winter camping! You can’t see the coffee as you make it, so you have to depend on careful measuring and a timer to get the brew that you prefer. You can’t see where the grounds are as you send the plunger down, or how dark the brew is before you pour it. I thought I detected a slight metallic taste, but the coffee was lower in acidity than a brew in a drip machine, so the cup of coffee was still very good, bringing out the nutty elements with a smooth bouquet. Finally, if you have any sensory issues, you might not like the sound/vibration of the steel-on-steel plunger as you depress it to brew and raise it to remove it after for cleaning. The tight fit means no grounds in the cup, but it also means metal-on-metal during use, though the slower you plunge the less noticeable it is. This device might be for you if you like the design, the color, the durability, the extra time it keeps coffee warm, and don’t mind the cost, the lack of visibility and the metal-on-metal sensation.

    I would give this product zero stars if I could. I purchased it on December 15, 2024, for over $100. I didn’t start using it until February, and within a month, the finish began to chip. Now, it is chipped all over. This is completely unacceptable, especially since these products are not cheap and are advertised as professional quality. I would like to return it, but coffeemakers.us.com will not accept my return.

    This is such a beautiful French press. I love the color. It’s heavy and well made. I have been using a glass French press for the past 4 years and this one definitely keeps my coffee hot for longer. With my old French press I always had an issue with coffee grounds getting through the screen. This French press has a double sediment filter and not one ground got through it. Over all a 10/10! Great product.
