   I received this as a gift and would make coffee with it 4-5 times a week for the 3 months it lasted. I ended up purchasing a manual burr grinder and a butane fuel burner to complete the experience. I would heat the water to the coffee setting of 205 °F before adding it to the Yama and starting the butane burner on its lowest flame. The pressure would only take a minute or so to feed the water up to the coffee grounds. It really is satisfying to watch! Unfortunately after cutting the heat from the burner I heard the sharp sound of the glass cracking. I hadn’t expected this to happen with how lightly I use it and especially after all the time I spend reading about how to use and clean this type of coffee maker. Making your coffee this way is not efficient but I enjoyed the process and the added work makes the cup of coffee that much more of a reward for the effort. It’s just unfortunate I must have had a defect in the one I received.

   I love this thing. I swear to you there isn’t more joy in my life than having a cup of coffee made with this siphon pot. The coffee it makes is the best coffee you will ever make at home. The coffee is a beautiful color, almost no grinds get in, it is easy to clean. Nothing in this world makes me happier than making this coffee…and nothing terrifies me more. I know it is relatively safe, but when you are heating glass with flame, etc it gets a little weird. i do worry. I don’t want the thing to explode on me. I had used it now about 20 times and I love it. Still..it makes me nervous.

   Let me address one thing. People say the design is a little flimsy. Granted the stand could be made a little stronger. I think that is a fair point of improvement. Still, there shouldn’t be a lot of force applied to this unit. It is made of glass mostly. So, you have to be a little careful with it. After I got past, for the most part, the fear of shards of glass in my face, I realized that you had to be gentle with it. I have been and everything is good. You won’t make a more tasty, and exciting, cup of coffee at home.

   Llegó bien empacado y muy rápido pero incompleto. El mechero no tiene la boquilla ni la mecha. Completamente inservible.

   Actualización:
   coffeemakers.us.com realizó el cambio de inmediato y la segunda unidad llegó completa y en buen estado.
   Es muy sencilla de operar aunque la fragilidad del vidrio requiere tener cuidado al lavar.
   Iniciando con agua caliente, el proceso es de pocos minutos para que el agua en el recipiente inferior empiece a hervir. A diferencia de lo que sugieren muchos sitios, yo coloco el café molido desde el principio (en seco) en la cámara superior. apago el mechero al minuto de que toda el agua ya subió.
   El alcohol que me funcionó muy bien y es muy económico, es el que venden en el supermercado como ayuda para encender carbón.

   I love this whole thing. It’s amazing and has completely upgraded my cocktails. 10+ I bought the bundle that had a propane burner and stirring stick. It comes with them but I wanted something a little better. I like the wooden stick I got.

   Excelente calidad, personalmente prefiero usar filtros de papel al filtro de tela que viene incluído ya que al gusto deja un sabor extraño la tela. El único defecto que encuentro es la lámpara, sugiero opten por complementar la adquisición con una lámpara de butano o incandescente, sino deberán ser muuuuy pacientes al preparar su café.
