   This thick plastic pour over coffee maker fits 8-10 cup filters and makes good coffee, fast. It fits a wide variety of containers. Place it on top of a cup, jar, thermal cup or, thermos. Put a filter into the top, add coffee, boil water and pour over the coffee, let it flow through and you won’t have to wait very long, repeat until water to coffee ratio is complete, drink coffee. The long smooth, downward directing ridges and large bottom hole at about 1″, allows water to flow through quickly and completely, with no weakening or tearing at the bottom of the filter. It feels sturdy and stable on top of a container with a thin 1/8″ bottom outer lip and a 2″w x 1/2″deep bottom inner circle ledge. Overall the total width with the useful handle is about 5.25″w x 4″h. It is about 4″w across the top opening, and 4.25″w across the bottom that sits on the container. It is easy to clean with little to nothing to catch any coffee debris. It’s great for the camper or at home.

   I have a stainless steel 1 cup pour over drip which makes great coffee. I wanted to try this ceramic dripper for comparison. The hole at bottom is huge so coffee drips much quicker while using a paper filter with this ceramic dripper. I do not use a filter with the stainless still dripper because the mesh is very fine. I find it odd that the paper filter sticks out of the bottom hole of this ceramic dripper. You have to be careful the filter doesn’t tear as the coffee drips. The final product is weaker and less flavorful than with the stainless steel dripper. I think the coffee drips too fast with this ceramic dripper. I also have to use more beans with the ceramic versus the stainless steel to get the same strength of coffee. I still like the ceramic dripper because it is much easier to clean/wash than the stainless steel dripper. But if I want a robust coffee the stainless steel dripper is a winner. The listing says this is white, but it is really ivory. I would have preferred if this was white. I included a photo showing the color difference of this dripper side by side with my coffee cup. I also show the hole size difference between the ceramic and the stainless steel.

   The hole on the bottom is much too large. 1-2 times a week since I’ve gotten this, my coffee filter bottom busts open and dumps the grounds into my cup. If the hole was smaller, like every other pour over I’ve ever seen, it would support the coffee filter enough to prevent this.

   I prefer a ceramic pour over to a metal filter pour over, and this did not disappoint. The hole at the bottom of the pour over was the perfect size to allow the water through the filter and into the cup. The white porcelain is beautiful, but I was a little worried it would be stained by the coffee. This may still be true over time, but I’ve made 2 cups with it so far and I included pictures above of how it looks immediately after the filter is removed, and then right after rinsed with water. There is no stain or discoloration, it’s still as white as when it came out of the box. Overall, I would highly recommend, love this!

   The filter in the pic is a standard #2 size cone: see how much is over the top? I had coffee running down the sides of the filter holder then my mug … what a mess. The glass holder I have works with the water/coffee level being just a bit above the top of the holder; this one did not work even when the coffee/water level was at the top. Would work beautifully with #1 size cone filter to make a tiny cup of coffee.

    This ceramic pour over coffee maker works exactly as you’d expect. Filter in, grounds in, and pour. It’s reasonably well-made, and affordably priced. My only issue with the design is that as you’re pouring water from a kettle, the only way to know you’re not going to overflow your mug with coffee is by lifting the pour-over and peeking into the mug. While this was an issue the for my first few mugs of coffee, I noticed it became easier to judge the liquid content as I made more cups of coffee. Overall, it’s a solid minimalist little pour-over coffee maker.

    I’ve been using this multiple times daily for going on for a few weeks now, and I’m so happy with it. Prior to this, I had been using a Hario set with a plastic v60. And don’t get me wrong, it’s a great pour over maker as well. But this one feels like a step up. I don’t have the best coffee grinder. It tends to produce a lot of fines which can clog up the filter and give me very long draw down times. But the ridges on this one are much better at catching the fines and leaving me with a nice, flat coffee bed with no clogging. I think this is partially due to the wide drip hole. I’ve seen some others complain, mentioning that they’ve had the bottom of their filters bust and ruin cups of coffee. I’ve probably made close to 50 coffees in this thing so far and never had that problem. For me, the wide drip hole is a bonus. The glaze is nice, not a single imperfection. And for $14 (at time of this writing), I think this a great alternative to a Hario branded one.

    I am now a “pour over coffee guy”. I put my coffee maker in the pantry. This cone is different in thatit is between #2 and #4 Melitta filter sizes. I couldn’t find my #2 filters but I made the #4 work by wetting the bottom of it just a bit. In this way it better fits in the cone. The hole in the bottom of the cone is also different as my other cones have two small holes in the bottom. This has one large hole about the size of a nickel. The coffee I made was excellent and I could detect no difference from my other cone. If you can live with the odd size then this is a good way to go.

    Sometimes, when selling these things it’s easy to forget to photograph all the important geometry. The listing here didn’t show the “business ends” of this dripper, which are the drip hole and the bottom face that touches the coffee mug. Thus, I have provided two photos here. Speaking of geometry, I like that the interior ridges are spiral-shaped rather than straight. (See photo.) This spiraling helps support the paper filter while still directing all liquid downward. Overall, the dripper has a good sized capacity. However, the drip hole was quite a bit larger than what I was hoping for. (My previous pour-over dripper had a very small hole, the size of a pencil eraser, which I liked.) The hole of this new one is large enough for a $.25 quarter to pass through. On my second use of this dripper, I had a major blowout through the center of the filter, which made a mess and ruined my coffee. Why do they make these holes so large? I don’t understand. Coffee can pass through even tiny holes. It’s an easy modification to make. Otherwise, I like the glazing treatment of this dripper. It has a good, quality, smooth feel to it. I dare say that the glazing is perfect! However, because of the large hole, it is too unreliable for me to use regularly.

    I have a number of coffee makers that I use. Most often used for my morning coffee is an insulated French press. A distant second is a Chemex pour over coffee maker followed by a number of smaller coffee makers. I picked up this porcelain pour over coffee maker for those times when I want a single cup of coffee made with a paper filter. I do like that it’s porcelain rather than plastic. There were no blemishes or defects, and I like the shape of this with the spiral ridges. The color is more of an off white or beige, not the bright white shown in the coffeemakers.us.com listing, although that is fine for me. There is one large hole in the bottom where the cone paper filter pokes through. This is different that some others that might have a few much smaller holes in the bottom, or the ones that take other shapes of paper filters. This actually was what I was looking for as I only have Chemex style paper filters currently and figured those would fit. This is a very similar geometry to a Chemex pour over coffee maker. The filters did work, although I needed to put a small fold in them. I ordered the Large size, 2-4 cups, although with what I normally use for my coffee cups this is a single cup coffee maker. Most of my coffee cups are on the larger side, perhaps 16-20 oz. The one potential issue might be the size of the base. The coffeemakers.us.com listing states it’s 5.82 in. That’s likely a typo as it’s just under 4”, perhaps 4.82 in. It just fits on many of my coffee cups, but I am careful not to disturb it while pouring in the water. It is a similar size to a stainless steel mesh pour over one I have, so I’m fine with it. But, if I was going to use a larger cup I would have been disappointed by the dimension stated in the listing. I can wholeheartedly recommend this porcelain pour over coffee maker. Understand how the paper filter sits in this, and if you’re fine with that this is a great little coffee maker. Great for the home or office, although for traveling or camping I would likely get one that’s less likely to break if dropped.

    This fits nicely on your standard 11 oz mug. The small cone shaped filters fit in it and it worked well to make a pour over coffee. The price was nice too, compared to other similar products. Its ceramic and you can easily wash by hand or put in the dishwasher.
