   I greatly prefer this filter to my other one (also purchased from coffeemakers.us.com), because the stainless steel is much more finely constructed. That means I can use coffee I like that comes already ground and have little residue. If I ground my own coffee and used a fairly coarse setting, I’m betting there would be no residue. But all that grinding takes considerable time. Another thing I really value about this filter is that it supports a family business in the U.S. It’s worth noting that because it uses finer gauge steel it’s a bit flexible. That only means it’s not quite as tough as the coarser gauge filters. For me all that matters is that I now get really good cold brew coffee. All around this filter is definitely worth spending a few extra dollars.

   This filter is easy to use, makes enough cold brew for a few days and it’s very easy to clean. No complaints or downsides here.

   The silicon right is a little larger than I’d prefer, perhaps to make it easy to slip over the top rim of the basket, or to avoid wear when people do that anyways. Build quality is fantastic though, and I see no other’s like it for sale, if I had the funds I’d stock up on several for the rest of my life. With an ounce of care and luck, this one might last long enough on it’s own. Update: You’re probably supposed to put that ring in the lid, bit I find hat either way the treads grate on a glass a bit and that it might benefit from some petroleum jelly or some such.

   This is the ONLY strainer I’ve been able to find that is actually deep enough to work in my full size tea pot. The mesh is extremely fine but allows plenty of water flow which makes it perfect for brewing loose leaf tea. The silicon lip it comes with is a great option for adjusting fit and makes sure the lid of my tea pot stays in place on top. I’ve been using it pretty heavily for a few days and so far no signs of it wearing down or coming apart.

   Edited to add: I contacted the manufacturer directly and they were extremely friendly & helpful. They sent me a replacement which I really appreciate.. ********* I loved it, but it is extremely lightly made and didn’t hold up. I’m the only one that uses it and am very careful with handling. Not pleased some of the Tiny wires around the top had sloghed off, I’m hoping I didn’t ingest them in my drinks. I’d like to get it replaced, but it’s just past the return window. Not sure if it is an occasional manufacturing mistake or they are all like this. But be aware, they may not last as long as you’d think for the price. And again, I’m concerned about the dislodged tiny wire fragments.

   Easy to use and clean, this product is flexible and provides great filtering of coffee grounds. It is easy to press out the excess liquid left after removing it from the jar. It’s nice to be able to decide how strong to steep your coffee/tea.
   Update: The mesh is difficult to clean. I have a high pressure hose and still cannot seem to get the filter completely cleaned out.
