   So there used to be a point at which during the Brewing phase the unit would stop and then the peristaltic pump would reverse so that it could drain the Brew filter on top..

   Well at some point it decided it was no longer going to do this and so I have modified with a switch to force it to reverse the pump so it properly drains the Brew container on top where most of the best coffee ends up being trapped..

   Without this reverse cycle not only does it not drain the upper Brew container but it also never purges a line and may trap bacteria in the machine..

   The company needs to remedy this situation this is really bad and isn’t only very annoying and inconvenient and wastes coffee but it could be dangerous to the customers health!

   I know numerous people this has happened too and I decided to get to the bottom of it and I have a video on YouTube on how to remedy it.

   I have been making cold brew coffee for about 20 years now. In that time I have tried various methods, often tedious and/or messy. This rapid brewer provides an experience very comparable to a traditional countertop coffee maker. Fill with water and ground coffee, press a couple of buttons and walk away. Come back in 15-20 minutes for ready to drink coffee and a cup of grounds to dispose of. Since there is no paper filter, you will need to rinse out the screens, but that’s pretty simple.

   This is an updated version of the original rapid cold brew maker. It went from horizontal to vertical. It’s just as loud when it runs. It’s a vacuum pull of water, pressure forced thru the grounds over and over. The settings are timed longer than the original. The old were 5,10, and 15 mins whereas the new 8.2, 12, and 17 mins. The main improvement is the grounds sit atop of the machine instead of the side. The ports, after cleaning, face downwards to drip dry. The old constantly had water remaining in the tubes as you can see the underside photo. The cold brew is still amazing. I like this style of cold brew machine much more than those that spin a vortex as those are water flavored coffee. This really is cold brew from a store. The machine is quite a bit more money than it should cost IMHO. However, I don’t like waiting 24-48 hrs. If your cold brew costs $5 each time, 30 trips saved will break even.

   I love cold brew coffee since it’s less acidic and better for my stomach. A friend got me an Instant Pot as a birthday present. It’s okay but I don’t feel it tastes like cold brew. When I saw this Dash one online, I thought I would try it out. I was actually blown away by it. I did a side by side comparison and found that the Dash one was like actual cold brew. You can see from the images that the Instant Pot cold brew looks murky and has way more sediment in it while the dash was darker, stronger and didn’t have any sediment. The Dash Cold Brew Maker made my cold brew 3 minutes faster than the Instant Pot. I love the Dash maker because it’s actual cold brew and has a better smoother taste. Would recommend to cold brew lovers.

   The pro: it makes good cold brew coffee. The con: THIS MACHINE IS LOUD. It uses a loud vacuum pump to force water through the grinds. We’ve had to exile it to the utility room with the door closed, and it is too loud to use in the morning. The note: This device has quite a few plastic parts that require cleaning after use. If you crack one of them you may have some trouble getting the part replaced. The oddity: it takes a lot (6+ oz? per the manual) of coffee grinds to properly fill the 40 oz carafe with cold brew. I’ve been using the lowest of three provided settings and stepping back the amount of coffee it uses to fill the carafe, as the top two settings are stronger than I need. The improvements: they should consider some metal parts, make the carafe and the grinds vessel snap into place with a stronger click, and maybe use some sound isolation for the pump if they can’t find a less noisy unit. I’m still learning how to use this thing tho it seems straightforward.

   I purchased this cold brew maker as I wanted a faster way to may fresh cold brew coffee. I usually make my cold brew over 24 hours in a French Press, and wanted to see how it compared in quality. While it may not be as perfect as a cold brew steeped for 24 hours, it is a great alternative for some quick cold brew that is of great taste and quality. The coffee maker itself is pretty easy to use. You fill the carafe with water, and the basket with ground coffee. After you start it, it pulls the water up to be brewed before returning the coffee back to the carafe. It’s also a pretty easy cleanup with soap and water afterwards. I make a lot of cold brew, so when I received this, I was using it at least 3 times a week. After using it for a month or so, it started to sometimes not return the brewed coffee to the carafe. Any coffee returned would be weak and not taste great. I’m currently in contact with customer service and they are attempting to help me troubleshoot the issue. Though when it does mess up, it’s a shame to waste so much coffee. Overall this makes a great cold brew very quickly. Now when I really crave some cold brew, I don’t have to plan 24 hours in advance to make some at home.

   This makes great tasting cold brew coffee. I brewed regular strength and it was plenty strong enough for me. Machine is a little noisy. Took about 10 minutes from start to finish for about 1/2 carafe of coffee. I used 3/4 cup of grounds. Clean up was really easy. Im looking forward to trying some of the recipes that came with it.

    I was curious when I saw this as I think it is a new item and I love my egg cooker from DASH. I love cold brew since it’s easier for my stomach. I also need to have decaf coffee right now and it’s very hard to find decaf cold brew. I bought another brand’s cold brew maker and the way it made cold brew was almost like it blended water with coffee beans and the cold brew felt like it was muddy water and not real cold brew. No thanks. I’m OBSESSED with this one though. So easy, so fast, no heat (obviously)… it’s quieter than my coffee maker and my blender. Also, it’s so easy to clean. it’s pricier than others but worth it to get real cold brew. Highly recommend it.

    Daily coffee drinker here and im a bit of a snob with my coffee, coffee beans, etc. It can be expensive and time consuming buying and/or making coffee or cold brew every morning. When I read how quickly the dash cold brew coffee maker can produce cold brew I thought even if its that fast the taste has to take a serious hit and I was not willing to settle for a subpar brew. I already have every other cold brew apartus under the sun so said ill try it out. My skepticism flew out the window after my first sip. The quality was there and it was extremely easy to use. It’s even easier to use than making a pot of coffee because you don’t need filters or anything and it is FAST. The only down side is I’ve found my self drinking even more cold brew now. If you drink cold brew regularly this is a must!

    Yes, a bit noisy, but who cares, leave the room. I like strong coffee so use 1 1/2 cups of dark roast ground coffee which is still below max fill line and set to bold with carafe filled to max 40 oz. with cold water. You must take care in assembling the machine. When adding coffee to the reusable filter I place a small shot glass over the top of the center post to prevent grounds from spilling through the holes or worse, plugging these holes as this will prevent it from working. Then make sure grounds are level and not piled up on one side as this can cause plugging and machine will stop working. When screwing the grounds container lid on the reusable filter make sure threads are straight and screw it all the way down (see photo). If you don’t, it will not work or stop working after a couple minutes. In the next step when placing the resuable filter into the hopper, place your thumbs on the tabs on the top of the grounds container lid (see photo) and push down firmly to ensure it is fully seated. In the next step make sure the small tabs on the Hopper Lid are aligned with the slots on the top of the hopper and turn firmly about one inch to seat fully. If you can’t get the lid on you failed to do the previous step correctly. Its a shame to see all the customers who returned what they thought were defective machines when the reality is they were not assembling the machine correctly.

    I like cold brew year round and this may be my favorite method/machine yet! It’s so easy to assemble, use and clean. In about 15 minutes I was impressed with how rich and bold the brew was, with no grounds like others I’ve tried. I liked the iced maple vanilla oat latte recipe in the manual also. It looks great on my kitchen counter. It’s lightweight and stable with the base suction cups. It makes a little noise but much less than I expected (& less than my Nespresso machine).

    We love our iced coffee in this house, and this handy device makes it much easier. It will definitely up your coffee game. It makes iced coffee in considerably less time, and the coffee was fresh and not at all acidy or bitter. In about 10 min., you can enjoy a tasty iced coffee without having to dilute hot coffee with too much ice. This machine is relatively quiet as well. Clean-up is straightforward and fast. Highly recommend, this coffee maker has been used almost daily since it arrived. I hope that this helps.

    So far it looks like dark rich coffee on Bold Mode but it takes about 18 minutes. It not forty-five minutes so that is plus. I waiting for it to cool down. I did it with regular tap water but I will try again with cold water from the refrigerator after I finally try it. I let it cool down for forty minutes in the refrigerator after I made a brew with a 1Zepresso X Pro at 140 notches. The grinder is fairly new. I did it to full capacity of grounds. I did bold brew. It surprisingly tangy and fruity using eight o’clock whole bean original. I will try refrigerator cold water next time bold brew. It makes the taste Clean, crisp and fruity. I suppose it could be a tad weak on Bold but the favor is tasty. Item lid refused to be shut so I had to return. The machine’s lid did not want to go on right so I returned it.
