   I searched very hard for this product and everything I could find on it said that it came from Turkey and I guess I was understanding or wanting to understand, but I bought it thinking it was made in Turkey. When I opened it today I saw on the box it says made in China and that was very disappointing, but if you look on the bottom of the unit it says it’s made in Turkey or at least it has the name Ankara, Turkey where it would normally show place of origin. So I’m not exactly sure. The box says China the product is marked Turkey. I opened it, washed the pot and I made the first cup of coffee from it and it worked absolutely perfect and the sensor did not let it boil over. I was not able to get it to pour off the foam and then repeat as I can fixing it to traditional way but it turned out almost or close enough to make it worthwhile just for the ease of use. I bought this to travel with me and make coffee in the hotels and it seems like it will be perfect. I would recommend this product but I do want people to know that try to avoid china made items may or maynot be made in China but it is a very nice product.

   First of all, I appreciate everyone’s lengthy reviews. This machine has the red and blue power button bulb wrong so I never know when it’s on or off, but it seems to work when it’s red. Secondly, if you’re Greek coffee lover, this machine is not really for you unless you drink your coffee boiled/ βραστό. I do not drink my coffee boiled over, I want the foam thick and turn it off just when it’s starts to rise and form the first bubble. You would think they could’ve put the sensor much lower. I appreciate the no spill but because I love my coffee so much and want it perfect I’ll stand for less than a minute and watch it with a traditional electric small pot. Sorry, not for this Greek. I’ll use the electric briki with the foldable handle that’s super for travel! Due to power button and inability in design to make coffee that is thick this gets 2 stars.

   Really likes my Turkish cuppa coffee! I actually replaced my old Turkish coffee mashing with this one because of the stainless steel pitcher and smaller size. It is so easy to fit anywhere, it’s really small. Also the coffee maker is very easy to use, just push the button and it will pip when it’s done. Makes one bigger cup or two small cups. I am adding milk to the coffee. Tastes nice and velvety…

    To understand how this Turkish coffee maker works, you have to know a bit about what’s Turkish or Greek coffee and how it’s made. Traditional Turkish coffee is made with VERY finely grind coffee beans (finer than espresso grind), put a spoonful of this finely grind coffee and a SMALL cup of water into a boiling instrument with a wide base and narrower top called either a cezve or a ibrik with no filter to separate the coffee ground from the water. Stir it a few times, add a small amount of sugar if you like, put it over medium heat on the stove and watch until it comes to a boil (with no more stirring), then you have your Turkish coffee drink. It seems easy but you have to watch out for the boil. With this machine, after you mix the coffee ground, water and a little sugar in the container, put it on the base, push the power button, it will bring your coffee to the right temperature and stop when it’s done. The trick is when you put the metal cup (with a boiling plate at the bottom) into the machine, a temperature probe will come out and extend over your metal cup (see pic 2) to ensure the water is boil to the perfect temperature and stop without you watching over it. Unlike when you are boiling the coffee yourself and get away to answer the phone or give your attention to something else for a few minutes, your Turkish coffee in the cezve will boil and spill all over then not only you will not have your enjoyable Turkish coffee, you have a big mess to clean up. This machine makes making Turkish coffee so easy, and brings the boil to the right temperature consistently and stop at the right moment to let you have your Turkish coffee without pain, just pleasure. Clean up is also very simple, just hand wash and rinse the stainless steel cup and it’s ready for your next cup of Turkish coffee when you need it. Whether you’ve been drinking Turkish coffee self-boil or haven’t enjoy Turkish coffee before, give this machine a try. Life is too short to not have Turkish coffee at least now and then, esp. with your friends or loved ones.

    Overall I’m happy about it- I wish it stays on a bit longer than 1:30 minutes – I want it to be cooked a bit longer for deeper taste
    You don’t have to watch it or worry about it boiling over – it’s definitely easy to prepare and enjoy Turkish coffee!
