   Simple coffee maker with on and off button works as advertised. I think this product is using a basket from other coffee maker products, since the basket fits very loosely. After cleaning with vinegar, then not using the coffee maker for a few weeks, I started brewing morning coffee again. I first just ran some water through to flush it out, and observed quite a bit of clear gel (algae?) in the basket. I ran some white vinegar through two cycles, then fresh water, to get rid of the deposits.

   I really liked this little coffee pot for my personal office. The first couple times using it were great. Coffee was good and hot, etc. But I noticed a little crack on the carafe. So I was very careful with it after that. It didn’t matter. This morning after a brew, I moved the lid and the whole thing just fell apart. Some of it fell into the coffee (so no coffee for me today). After doing research I could find no adequate replacement for this coffee maker; so I will be getting an entirely new pot (not this model). Hopefully the next one will be better. I know it’s only a $20 coffee maker, but I did expect it to last more than a month or so.

   This is by far one of the best coffee makers I’ve ever had especially for the price. I had the older model back in college and that thing lasted years and finally slowly stopped working. I decided to upgrade to one of those fancy Keruig coffee makers and absolutely hated it. I could never get the coffee strong enough or to taste as good. Well four years and four different coffee makers later I found myself right back where I started and it did not disappoint. First cup out of it was amazing. I did find that when I use a paper filter vs the reusable filter my coffee was stronger, so if you like a stronger brew I would try the disposable filters. Otherwise fantastic product.

   I would not waste your money. This was much smaller than pictured. The machine did not even last a year. The button was stuck from normal use and then smoke came out of the button. The customer service at black and decker was very rude and disrespectful. She kept cutting me off and saying this was all my fault for unscrewing the bottom plate to see why the button was stuck, who wouldn’t. She then told me they would replace it and told me I had to take x amount of photos and cut the cord and ship it myself with a 7.50 check for shipping and handling of the new unit which would not have a warranty of that one. Not worth the purchase hassle or a burnt down house.

   Overall I get this guy five stars! It’s a simple machine that makes a great cuppa coffee in the morning. I read some of the reviews about the reusable filter comes with Being shaped weird. And it is, but it works totally fine. And in regards to reviews about the top warping, to prevent that from happening after every brew I simply lift the lid so the steam comes out and doesn’t affect the plastic top. Definitely recommend.

    The point of this coffee maker is obviously to create something cheap for people that only need to brew a couple of cups. A couple of the problems with this machine are that it does not have a showerhead water drip system and the water temperature doesn’t seem to be consistent (it does reach around 200 degrees F in the final parts of the brew, but is lower before that). The temperature is not something you can fix unfortunately, but there are a couple tricks you can do to overcome the way water drips into the coffee: 1. Use two coffee filters. Place your coffee into one paper filter and then place another coffee filter on top of the coffee grounds. Use a toothpick to poke some holes into the top filter to allow the CO2 to escape (important for the next step). What this will do is allow the water that comes out of the spout to spread and cover the coffee grounds more evenly for a better extraction. When I do this, I don’t get the pit in the middle of the coffee grounds like you typically get if you’re running this machine in stock configuration. 2. Use a smart plug to create your own bloom cycle. This coffee machine does not have a built-in bloom cycle, but you can manually create your own either by turning off the coffee machine for about 20 seconds a minute or two into the brewing cycle or using a smart plug to automate this. Since I use an Alexa Smart Plug to start my coffee automatically in the morning, I created a routine to automate the bloom cycle. I’ve included a screenshot of my routine in case anyone else wants to try it also. Note that although the recommended bloom time for coffee is 30 seconds, my routine does it in 20 seconds because the coffee machine will not start dripping water the instant it is turned back on. After trying these two steps, there was a noticeably smoother taste in the coffee, and it felt like the extraction was much better. This of course is not going to be as good as a high end coffee maker or other brewing techniques like French press or pour over, but for the $25 you’re paying for this budget coffee machine, these two modifications will produce a very respectable taste for your morning coffee.

    I read all the reviews and made sure to run plain water through the machine twice before use. I use this machine every morning and sometimes twice a day; I clean it out with plain water and let it air dry after every use. I turn off the machine after the pot is almost done so the last bit in the carafe doesn’t get a burned taste. Perfect for everyday use for a single person in a small kitchen.

Lol This quaint pot does its job for a decent quality price. 🙂 The lid was a little off upon purchase but did not deter me when I did read it on other reviews prior to purchasing. As time has gone on it has become more warped with each use (opening & closing) but nothing that has caused me to discontinue use. Small size structure that fits on top of a microwave area. Depending on your coffee mug size you can get a good amount of 3 to 31/2 cups of coffee. (We tend to use larger coffee mugs) lol

    This thing is awful — just an absolute pile of garbage. I hope you enjoy coffee grounds because this thing, even after cleaning, loves to just overflow grounds back into your coffee. Not only that, cleaning this thing after that happens is a real pain because what happens is grounds overflow into the reservoir that the piece that holds the filter and grounds sits in (see first photo), and that’s REAL fun to clean. Regular cleaning doesn’t make a difference, using fewer grounds doesn’t make a difference (though, you shouldn’t HAVE to make weak coffee because your coffee maker is trash), etc. I highly recommend getting something else, this thing is just mediocre and I’ve already waste two pots of coffee TODAY alone, not to mention the several pots of wasted coffee over the past few months that I’ve owned this. It’s really great spending money on decent ground coffee only to have your coffee maker waste it. Black and Decker should be ashamed of this coffee-wasting piece of trash.

    I bought this coffee maker June 26 , 2023 . it worked up to Nov 15 2023 . Called Tech support for a refund . Didn’t want a replacement , this think has made a mess on my countertop 3 to 4 times . Tech support did agree to give me a refund after I cut the plug off the cord and mail in the plug and invoice for proof I have the coffee maker. This can’t be done with e-mail ? Before Black and Decker will do anything I must give them all my personal information. Phone number and email address , No Thanks

    Bought this coffee maker a couple of years ago and figured it was cheap enough that if I got a year out of it it that would be pretty good. Well since then its made tasty hot coffee just about every single day without skipping a beat. At least until a couple of days ago when the power button just fell out in multiple pieces. However I bought the same model again because it was a good one while it lasted and I like the simple look and ease of operation. The hot plate is very hot but if I leave it on for more than 10 minutes the coffee tastes a little burnt. The lid did warp the first few times I used it I guess cause the plastic is not very thick but then one day I put a book on it while I brewed a pot and it warped back to the correct shape and since then I haven’t had any problems. I have brewed about 6 pots with my new unit and have not noticed any warping. Just hot tasty coffee.

    I picture this little coffee machine next to my Nespresso machine to emphasize that I’m not a coffee amateur. The Kuerig machines are cool, and I like Black Rifle in them, but it’s a hassle waiting for each cup — I rarely drink one cup. The Nespresso makes great coffee, but it is so strong and bitter that it needs heavy cream to make it really tasty, and it only makes one cup. So, I just wanted a few cups of BLACK coffee. I put 6 scoops of ground beans in it, fill the pot and dump it in, turn it on, and in a couple minutes I have two large cups of great coffee (or 5 6oz cups). And, I’m not sure why the thing got a couple of bad reviews on the warmer plate — I found that it keeps the pot perfectly warm, not too hot as to burn what’s left. I highly recommend this little inexpensive jewel. Costs about the same as 4 Flat Whites from Starbucks!!!

    This coffee maker cost $25. That’s like 2 or 3 of those big whip-creamy looking things at Starbucks. And this is an actually physical thing that you can go make some more coffee with the next day. Whereas those expensive Starbucks drinks you just have that one brief moment and then they’re gone forever. Which makes me want to ask… Does anybody know why people spend $7 on a “coffee” drink? I just don’t get that. Oh… the Coffee Pot…. Lately I have not been drinking quite as much coffee and noticed that I was throwing a fair amount away in the afternoon. My old reliable ??? (whatever) died after I gave it a bath so I thought “I’m just going to buy a mini-me coffee maker because I don’t need as much coffee”. Sound concept, but in reality the Coffee Maker feels just a bit “flimsy” and the coffee does not taste quite as robust. NOT A PROBLEM. I’m going to box this cute-little-guy up for another purpose and get something a little more substantial for my every-day use. Even though I’m not going to use my little Black and Decker Coffee Maker all the time I am DAMN PROUD to live in a country that can make a fine product like this!

    I had this coffee maker in my wish list for awhile. I was hesitant after reading poor reviews of water going everywhere and no auto pause if sneaking a cup before perk complete and the left hand side fill. Wish I’d have purchased sooner!!!! Left hand side fill is not a problem at all. I refill using my right hand. Plenty of room to pour! Leaking is caused by improper placement of the brew basket. Just put it in on top of the inside flaps and viola! No leaking, auto pause works and does NOT AUTO SHUT OFF! It keeps coffee pretty hot as long as it is on, although instructions say to turn off after brew.

    …what a complete piece of junk. I ordered three weeks ago, and this coffee maker did not drain through the filter holder this morning. There was coffee everywhere. My first thought was there must have been something wrong with the filter, but that wasn’t it. I picked up the holder (with filter, hot water, and coffee grounds), depressed the spring loaded piece on the bottom, and the coffee drained into my cup. There’s something wrong with the spring-loaded piece on the bottom of the filter holder. AGAIN, this coffee maker is only three weeks old. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

    This is a bare-bones coffee machine. Nothing fancy! It does one thing that all the other fancy ones do… pour hot water over ground coffee. There is no timer, no smart technology, nor a milk frother. It has a basic plastic build, with not a lot of moving parts that I can see wearing down.

    Worked exactly for a year. Has started to leak while it makes the coffee. Very gently used thus far. I don’t even move it from it’s place except to clean. I suspect the plastic has given in, either bent over time or some seal broke inside. Trashing it now. Good while it lasted though. Update: Gave it 3 more tries. Placed a plate beneath to avoid the water spill over the countertop and floor. But it completely stopped working now. Trashing it again!

    I was tossed between leaving a 3 and 2 star review. Settled for 2 since I’m pretty sure my pot came defective. Not only does it leak coffee from the top when the pot is removed it also has no seal. Example: if you pour water in the side and forget to put the pot back on the base the machine activates and all the coffee drips everywhere. This has happened more than I can count.my last coffee pot came from Walmart and cost $15 and I never had any issues with it doing this. Do not recommend. If I could send it back I would. Other than that the coffee actually taste really good..
