   This is a really cute coffee maker. It does save lots of counter space. You can take the water compartment out and wash it as need it. I thought that was pretty neat. I also love that you can choose between how many oz of coffee you want in your cup. That comes in handy if you are one of those people who enjoy strong expresso shots, I know my son-in-law will love that. The quality of the plastic, and steel, it is similar to or about the same as the Keurig brand. The weight of this Chefman Single Serve Coffee Maker is lighter, the design is meant to be compact. That is the other thing I love about this coffee maker; It is compact♥ I love most when it comes to this coffee maker, except for one thing…the cup lifter thing. While it seems nicely convenient to lift your cup to the right size, they didn’t quite design well. It is a faulty feature as far I can tell. It may be okay for small cups, but even a regular cup doesn’t fit well. Not to mention is not stable. And if you are a cup collector like me, you won’t want your cups to shatter. I am a collector but I do use my cups. So you are better off not to elevate that thing for regular ear cups. I do like this coffee maker, and still cute and useful. So, I am keeping it. I’m just going to use it with the big tall/long cup that my daughter got me from Starbucks. Besides winter is coming and that cup has ceramic inside. I am sure you can find a cute one here on coffeemakers.us.com to go well with this coffee maker as well. As far as brewing the coffee I didn’t feel the difference. It was tasty to me. Just make sure before you use it. Let it do one or two brewing with only clean water. You know rinse before you use. OK, That is the 411 from my part, I hope this was insightful somehow.    What the heck did I buy? I prepped as instructed with a brew of water and then used a k pod. The pod exploded on try 1, 2, and 3. Much noise, steam, popping sounds – this came literally yesterday and I regret it all. Don’t waste money on this one.

   Works with k-cups which is nice that i dont have to seek out a specific brand, etc. However, If you fill the water to 14 oz the outside of the coffee maker will leak. So far, it has not done so when using less than 14oz of water. Picture is from first use after deep cleaning the night before. Leakage comes through the seal. Makes a bit of a mess.

   Final review: Not worth the money and I returned it as it didn’t brew coffee well. Most of it just tasted like slightly brewed coffee with little flavour. The water just moves too fast for proper brewing. I ended up just getting a coffee press for 12$ at the local grocery REPLACEMENT REVIEW: I received the replacement quickly and again followed the instructions for before use. This one did successfully brew coffee, however the coffee is comparable to free hotel coffee for the MOST part. I did a trial run of some sizes and tried them all at the same time to compare the flavours, using my Ninja XL size coffee cup as a control. I tried 10oz and 14 oz with K-cups, same brand of coffee as I buy my grounds. Both tasted weak and lacked the robust flavour. I then tried the reusable filter with with an additional paper filter, It was better. I used this additional filter to slow the water and hoped the flow wouldnt push the grounds to the side as it does with just the factory filter. Then I tried the reusable filter by itself again and the coffee was comparable to what my Ninja brews at home, only slightly less flavourful, but not that noticeable. Overall I’m still tempted to return the item since only one of the sizes really has a good flavour. I read that in a review before I bought it and I believe it now. I’ve had a large Keurig before and loved it, so the mini Keurig might be your best choice if youve enjoyed keurig before. I only tried this one out since I’m using it for on the road in my camper, and didnt want anything too costly. It is fast brewing but Id rather wait a few extra minutes for a better tasting cup INITIAL ITEM REVIEW: I followed all instructions in the before use section and tried to brew coffee the next day, again following the instructions. The main issue is that is just brews hot water. the coffee grounds were barely damp after two tries. I’m not sure if there is a hose dislodged or if there’s a jam somewhere, can’t see anything awry besides the following: A random small filter floated to the top of the reservoir and while I THINK I know where it goes, it should have been dislodged from water being poured in. I didnt see it mentioned in the manual so does that mean it’s not even supposed to come out? I would assume you can removed and clean it, but not if the manual doesnt mention it. I’ve put in for a replacement, and will update the review if the 2nd item is satisfactory. If not, I’m going to get a Keurig since Ive had those before and loved it.

    My keurig died and I’m low on cash and needed a new coffee maker within 24 hours, this one fit what I needed. It arrived in less than 24 hours, it makes a perfect cup of coffee with zero effort, and it burned my tongue. a+ for the price. I don’t care if this thing dies in a few months with the price. 10/10 would recommend. Also it takes up no space. The ONLY THING I could consider a con, if you put a smaller coffee mug, the coffee will splash out a little as it’s brewing. Barely a problem though

    Do not purchase. I bought this item in February and it is now April. Coffee is not hot and lid does not close tightly. Connecting arm keeps disengaging. Coffee is weaker than normally brewed. Too late to return, but don’t try to be cheap. Spend the money and purchase a Kuerig.

    I’ve only had this for two months, and it has now died. Initially, the lid, when closed with the Kcup inside, would not regularly pop open when pressing the button, meaning it had to be pried open. But I liked the way it made coffee so stuck with it. Bad decision – now, it doesn’t turn on or work at all!!

    Technically it works, but the opening at the top is so small you need a funnel to fill it. Trying to use your coffee cup to fill it will guarantee it spills. If you accidentally pour water where the kcup/filter goes, it immediately dumps out onto the drip tray.

    This little guy made a big impression when we got it! I was overjoyed that we found an individual serve coffee/tea maker that had a small footprint and made great coffee with just the right temperature. Sadly, it only lasted about 8 months with 2-3 uses daily. That is the only reason for the 3 star rating, otherwise it would’ve been a 5.

    I bought a second of these to use at my boyfriends. They changed the refillable pod. Now it is like no other system. It replaces the podcast holder, note the little handle. It has a fill line WAY below the top. The water flow forces the coffee grounds to the sides of the container and the water then goes straight to the bottom of the container not through the coffee. If you only use pods you might be ok (Does not get as hot as my other maker does).

    I gave this coffee maker a 4.5 rating. I took the coffee maker truck camping and was able to quickly make a cup of coffee or tea. I plan to use this for quickly heading water on snowboarding trips. The boiler gets hot super fast. It’s really easy to use. The only downside is that the Starbucks K-kups are too tall and get squashed, but they still work.

    True to many other reviews I’ve seen, it splatters a bit, you’ll definitely benefit from remembering to raise the cup up to the spout. It is a very fast brew cycle, so I appreciate that. My biggest complaint is that the rubber gasket around the top needle is SO THICK and high-profile that the rubber utterly destroys the top of a K cup, sometimes resulting in grounds in your cup and in the k cup attachment. Everything on the machine is assembled and seated correctly, but this gasket just busts a wide hole through the top of the k cup. I’m probably going to spend a few dollars and order a few different needle gaskets for other models, to see if I can find any that are lower profile and will sit firmly but more flush against the top of the pod. Meanwhile, I’ve just been catching the grounds that bubble up over the top of the k cup in the mesh basket attachment so I don’t have to drink grit.

    We were looking for a simple k-cup coffee brewer that didn’t cost $80 or more just make a single cup of coffee. My mom is getting older and I wanted something that was very simple to use. Now, this brewer does not have all the bells and whistles. You do have to measure the water needed for each cup. Other than that, it is straightforward. On the inside, there are white tiles that indicate where to measure water or you can use a measuring cup. Plus the main basket for the k-cups is removable and easy to put back. I also like the reusable filter for ground coffee. It has a generous basket where you can control how much coffee you want to put in it. The coffee brews a full flavor and smooth cup of coffee which I was surprised. And the coffee stays hot longer than other brewers I have used in the past. We were able to get this brewer at a discounted price. But even at $50, it is a very good choice for an inexpensive single k-cup coffee brewer. UPDATE: After several uses, we noticed there’s a lot of coffee grinds in the bottom of the mug. We thought this might be due to needing to clean the inside of the brewer but it’s actually a function flaw. At the end of brewing high amounts of pressure is forced through the pod which expels excess coffee grinds. Very disappointing.

It also has the option to adjust the height for smaller cups for tea so they don’t splash everywhere. The water compartment holds a lot of water so you don’t have to refill each time.     I purchased this coffee in mid-March 2024 for my 80-year-old mother when she moved into my guest house so I could help take care of her. She only consumes 4-5 cups of coffee a week. This week (almost four months to the day it was purchased), water began to fill the area around the coffee pod; most of it drained through the dispenser, and the rest leaked over the side down the machine and onto the countertop. When the cycle was done, and it was supposedly “safe,” she opened the lid to remove the pod, and hot water sprayed out from a hose at the back of the unit. It was a light spray, but the water was definitely hot. Fortunately, she was not hurt. Unfortunately, the return window for the product has closed. This is very disappointing.
