   We bought this in July of 2019 as our backup-I’m-too-lazy-to-brew-a-pot maker. We were sick of Keurigs failing. We should have bought a Keurig. The coffee’s pretty good, though it’s not normal tasting, it does the job. But, the machine failed 2 months after the warranty was up. Just before the 200th cup (I counted our orders), the machine started putting less into the cup and started leaking out of the back of the machine. I cleaned it, to no avail. We have 30 extra pods we’re going to give away, then toss the machine. We have a Ninja now that does better single cups. Total cost per cup of coffee we got out of this piece of junk: $1.81.

   Extremely disappointed. I bought this coffee maker July 8th and received it July 12th. Ran the cleaning cycle every 2 weeks (our office goes through a LOT of coffee. Descaled it after 250 pods were run through it in week 6. In week 7 the machine made a popping noise after brewing a cup and the light on the top ring turned half red half yellow. I looked up on the DeLonghi site for troubleshooting instructions and tried all of the actions, but it still it wasn’t fixed. When I unplugged it and waited for the 30 seconds and plugged it back in and ran a brew cycle the machine made a loud grinding noise and did not sound like it was spinning the pod very fast. The coffee came out without making the crema on top. Since it was outside the coffeemakers.us.com retrun period I contacted the manufacturer by email as instructed by the coffeemakers.us.com site. I have never received a response from them so apparently they do not want to honor the warranty on the machine. I read reviews on other Nespresso machines and someone said the Breville manufactured machine was better quality, so despite the fact both manufacturers are in the Ukraine, I bought the Breville one and am just now setting it up. I hope it is a better machine and doesn’t break, and if it does, they will honor the warranty, but just in case I paid the money to get the 4-year warranty with it. We shall see.

   Updated: Keeps getting better, went to ship the thing back to NJ, and found return shipping will cost $40 USPS ground. lol. Can’t really say shipping a $150 item back for warranty repair is cost effective. Especially given the product is only 6 months old and the damage looks to be from the factory. After contacting DeLonghi I am told they no longer service the machine (only six months old). I must contact NespressoClub for service. NespressoClub tells me I must join their “club” in order to receive warranty service. Still fuming over this, and after reading many reviews for issues with the machine having other issues with leaks, shutdowns and other odd problems that the “club” wants you to buy specialized products for (descaling), not even sure I want to send it in for servicing. Might count my losses (I still have two boxes of coffee pods) and give the pods to someone else. ps: Joining their club means allowing them to install a “special app” to my browser to allow them to track my coffee and other purchases. Seriously? Who in their right mind installs software that is designed to track their web habits and agrees to this open invasion of privacy? Besides Facebook users, that is. In any case, I asked for and received a shipping address to return the unit for warranty repair. I am told it will take 14 days minimum for the service – and that shipping delays might be incurred. Basically, once I get the machine in the mail, it will be at least 3 to 4 weeks before I can get it back to use it again. Well, so much for brand (DeLonghi failed me big time) and so much for buying something that seemed to be fair quality from a reputable source (coffeemakers.us.com and Nespresso both failed in this). What was that old saying? Caveat Emptor. First impression was the lid never opened and closed properly. Always takes two attempts to open. I got used to that quirk and continued using it almost daily (often two or more cups). Now, after six months, the thing is leaking like a sieve. The o-ring in the top is breaking down and chipping away (poorly made rubber does this). So for every cup I make – a portion of coffee is left dribbling out the back of the machine in a large puddle. I’m going to see what DeLonghi will do – the thing should have at least a year warranty. Hopefully they can just send a new o-ring/seal whatever it’s called.

   A vast improvement over another Nespresso model produced by another vendor. The large water tank makes use more efficient, and the automatic head operation eliminates struggling with an uncooperative manual locking mechanism. Vastly better experience at a very modest increase in price.

    The first machine started to develop a mild leak after six years of daily use. Repairs would have been almost as expensive as a new one. So I ordered an identical one and am very happy with it. It works well, the coffee is mostly good to excellent. The biggest drawback are the relatively expensive capsules. And don’t compare it to the Keurig stuff. There’s no compare, infinitely better.

    Last Christmas, I got this machine as a gift for my mom and she loves it! It is a durable machine and after almost a year’s worth of use, there’s not a scratch on it. She also loves how the water tank can move so you can redecorate your coffee stand without worrying about if it is going to not fit. The customer service from Nespresso is also unparalleled; they send you free to use recycling bags so that you can recycle your pods by dropping them off at your local post office (free of charge), have year round deals, and really make the best coffee on this planet! Overall, this was the best gift that I have given and I would 100% recommend it for anyone who loves their coffee!!!

    I purchased this machine just over a year ago. I was very happy in the beginning but about a month ago, I started to notice coffee leaking out under the machine while it was brewing a cup. I thought maybe it needed a cleaning or a descaling. I tried both and that didn’t help. I spoke to an employee at the Nespresso store and he told me that there must be something broken on the inside of the machine. I really thought that this machine would last longer than a year. I believe they give you a year warranty and I have tried calling the Nespresso club but the wait time is so long that it’s hard to speak to anyone. Unfortunately, if you are looking for a new coffee maker, I would pass on this one.

    So far I haven’t enjoyed how easy this machine is. It has one button. It automatically reads the cup barcode and will brew accordingly. Easy to set up, remove plastic, fill with water, run the first clean cycle and it’s good to go. Hardest part so far is deciding what coffee to order. The descriptions for some of the pods also don’t make sense, such as the one that says for milk? So I have to add milk after? Just unsure how to make that pod so far. Espresso taste better then their brewed coffee. I still prefer pour over or French press over using the machine to make a normal cup. 5 stars because it does exactly what it was marketed for with no hiccups so far.

    Good espresso and other coffee. I’ve had the machine for about three weeks, and I’ve run a bunch of pods through it, and it was all good. The coffee comes out nice and frothy and has an excellent taste. I ordered some pumpkin spice pods, and they were great. Also, got a small hand-held milk frother, and the frothy milk increased the umami by about 50%. A great cup of coffee for and frothy milk, the perfect picker-upper.

    Do NOT buy this machine…. after a few mere months, the brew head is leaking all over and Nespresso’s customer service is totally lousy… I spent an hour with the technical specialist to run all kinds of tests – to no avail, end result = defective. Ok, fine, under warranty… I was promised a box delivered to my house within 24 hours for me to bring the machine to Canada Posts. 2 days later, no box…. callied back: getting the round around and told to call back later as they are too busy. They ‘cannot’ return call, and they ‘cannot’ leave a message to whoever is responsible to mail said box… It’s a defective machine, under warranty….this is my 2nd and LAST Nespresso machines. The other one barely lasted 2 years. Do know that if you buy via coffeemakers.us.com – you are stuck to deal with Nespresso, you cannot return it to coffeemakers.us.com.
