I’m new to pour-over coffee (re: HELP!). Someone purchased me sophisticated swanky high-end beans and I felt the beans deserved the best in the morning routine, so I started here. I have no clue of my technique, or speed of pour, or if I’m maximizing delicious beany goodness, but the container is cute. I do like the fine double mesh strainer that sets in the top. It’s handy. The cuff is a little awkward in the handling of the glass while manipulating hot liquids, but it works. And it looks good while setting on my shelf. And, in the end, the quality and durability seem sufficient.

This pour over set works great for my morning pour over coffee. Some things to note are that it steeps slowly when I’m trying to brew pre-ground coffee -the water drips through so slowly that it could take more than 6-8 minutes just to finish 4-5 cups! So I like to grind the beans myself on my OXO burr grinder at setting 9 out of 15, which is a bit more coarse than medium. Another note is that the cork doesn’t keep the coffee hot for long, so to reheat it, you could put it on a stovetop for a bit. I pour the used ground beans into a plastic Tupperware and use that to spread around my garden. Rinse the filter out after use as well!

This pour over set is perfect for my needs. I have a very small kitchen and wanted to make a coffee & tea area in my dining room to save my limited counter space. The filter is high quality and has produced smooth coffee consistently for the few days I’ve used it. I recommend using a coarse grind if you’re having an issue with grounds getting stuck in the filter. I love the simplicity and cleaning is a breeze, everything easily rinses out. I saw the cork didn’t fit well in other reviews but mine fits great. I like the leather grip, it easily snaps on and off and fits securely. It feels high quality and adds a nice flair. Combined with an electric kettle I also bought on coffeemakers.us.com, I have fresh coffee in under 5 minutes that’s actually kind of fun to make. This set up is pretty enough to leave out, and if it holds up, the purchase was well worth it.

Excellent! Just what I needed for downsizing from the 12 cup machine I had. I enjoy coffee, but don’t drink it as much as I used to. It can hold about 6 cups of coffee. The filter is marvelous, no grinds in the carafe. I love that it takes up much less counter space, and I can easily store it in the cupboard. Never going back to a bulky electric coffee maker.

This is an honest, uncompensated, and a real human review. I purchased this Kavako Stainless Steel Pour Over Coffee Filter for my Chemex 8-cup Coffee Maker. I highly recommend purchasing this filter for anyone striving to craft the perfect cup of coffee like I am. Here are some pros and one con to help you decide. Pros: 1. The design is very well made and sturdy. 2. The rubber banding allows for ease of use against glass. 3. Fine double mesh coupled with medium burr grind beans prevents the majority of silt from seeping through. Last picture shows the amount of silt left after finishing the entire carafe of coffee. Very impressive! 4. Crafting a full-bodied, highly flavorful cup is much easier and faster. 5. It’s a perfect fit for my Chemex. 6. Clean up is “easier” since the band is removable. Cons: 1. Cleaning a reusable mesh filter is always a challenge. I find it much easier if you allow the coffee to dry completely before emptying. Then, using a towel, wipe away the remaining grounds. If needed follow up with a rinse in hot water and lay on its side to dry completely. Enjoy!

Didn’t really scrutinize till now. Used a few times, then stuck it in cabinet. Took out this mrng, feels like a wax/plastic coating on inside lining. Took rubber seal off used a knife to get started near seam of inside lining then ripped it out. Still felt like wax coating residue. Poured rubbing alcohol on paper towel wiped down really good inside & out. Did 2nd time w/ diff paper towel & alcohol, let dry & rinsed really good. Did rubber seal also w/ rubbing alcohol then reapplied. I’d opt for putting coffee grinds & water in uncoated pot w/ lid on. Bring to a simmering boil, turn heat off & leave sit 10min + desired strength. Then pour through wire, get bulk of grinds out & then pour thru very thin uncoated wire mesh or cotton clothe to get tiny particles out. Can place material for 2nd strain over mason jar opening, then screw metal ring overtop that & pour into desired container. For length of time it takes to use pour over, with the coated liner inside, better off figuring out another way. May take couple extra steps, but you’ll be left w/ a lot of saved time & quality strong coffee 🙂 Took awhile to really review this. That’s my opinion about it. Enjoy! Did 5 ⭐️ Maybe more ppl will see that way. W/ effort it could be 5 stars. Not sure I’d bother w/ it even after all I did. Glass jar is nice & cork top.

I bought a pour-over coffee brewer with a stainless steel filter for a clean brewed coffee. Hot water dripping through any plastic component leaches toxins into the brew. I do not want any of those toxins in my coffee. The stainless steel filter would not leach chemicals into my coffee every single time I make coffee. I do not want any plastic or any other material leaching anything into my coffee. I have to assume this inner liner is plastic. This toxic exposure defeats the whole purpose of buying a pour-over coffee brewer. I will be sending this back.

This cone filter is perfect for anyone that has a pour over coffee setup. I use this filter with my Mr. Coffee pour over coffee pot. Prior to this filter I was using these #2 paper filters that were absolute garbage. They didn’t fit properly and it took forever, for-ev-er, for-ev-er to brew coffee. Now I have a pot of coffee brewed faster than I did with my previous drip pot. Not to mention, I think the overall taste is much better. It washes clean fairly easy. I dump what I can in the garbage, and then rinse the rest in the sink. So far I’ve been using it for a few weeks and have not noticed any rust pits either. I would purchase this again.

This is an update to my original review. Originally I rated this carafe as a four star but now have learned to love this pour over carafe to a five star rating. I was expecting a larger carafe. We Americans drink a great deal of coffee. This carafe will hold 3 large American sized coffee cups without using the top part of the carafe. I still do not use the leather collar as I found it a little difficult to remove to wash it after use. I use a hand towel to hold the carafe if it is still hot to touch. I learned from my last carafe that you need to wash and dry a glass carafe after every use to avoid water spots. This is a great size carafe for 1 to 2 persons. So this is the reason I updated to 5 star as I judged the carafe too quickly. ** I was expecting a 7 cup carafe something like the size of my old now cracked one I was trying to replace. My photo shows the old cracked carafe pictured beside the new carafe. I removed the collar on the new carafe so you could get an accurate feel for a size comparison. I would have sent this small carafe back to exchange it for a larger one but I did not see any 14 cup carafes advertised. This small carafe will work fine for myself but probably not for serving company. I would have given this pour over carafe a 5 star except for the 7 cup size description.

We bought this to use in the camper. Our French press sucked to clean. This is really easy to clean and the coffee is better pour over in my opinion. We already had our electric kettle to heat water, so that was an expense we didn’t have when purchasing this. Update May 2023: this one lasted 8 months. it is splitting open along seam. Switching brands. Update before 2023 : I got 18 months out of it but it started showing signs of failure after a year. This is my second conical pour over coffee thing. I replaced the first one because the thin plastic liner was worn and loose. It lasted maybe 2 or 3 years. Before it failed I bought this one as a replacment. Unfortunately, the liner in this one is already loose. I give it six months to a year before I have to replace it. Otherwise this product works fine an as intended. So 4 or 5 stars for how it works, 2 or 3 stars for durability.

I was looking for a functional yet attractive coffee maker so that I could keep it out and not to have store it out of sight.
The Kavako coffee maker looks even better in person than in the photos.
The attractive leather sleeve is top quality and the color is perfect and would complement any kitchen decor.
The glass/pyrex carafe is sturdy and easy to clean and the filter is the best I’ve used when comparing to any other pour over coffee filter I’ve used in the past.
Finally, their customer service is superb! I had a small issue (my fault not theirs) and they couldn’t have been more accommodating or professional.

Well made but I wish they would make these with large silicon wraps instead of leather. While leather looks super nice, for a daily use item silicon will get better mileage and be easier to use. The cork lid fits well and the filter works great.

I do recommend if anyone is having issues with flow rate, grind your coffee more coarse the larger the chunks the easier it is for the water to flow though it.

Love this pour over and it’s so pretty too. Tried both ways with the Included stainless steel filter and with a coffee sock (Colador the way my grandmother used to brew coffee). Got great tasting coffee both ways. I took the leather wrap off the first time to wash the container but found it was hard to get back on so I don’t remove it anymore. It might get a little wet if you are not careful but i suppose it will add to the carácter of the leather. Will buy again.
