   I selected the Horavie Single Serve Coffee Maker because I was wanting a coffee maker that would work with K Cup pods and Ground Coffee. This one does both and takes up very little counter space! I simply fill up my mug and pour it into the water well. I either fill the filter adapter with my favorite ground coffee or choose to use a K cup pod and hit brew! It instantly brews a delicious, hot cup of coffee that fits, perfectly, in my coffee mug!

   Ok, first there is a little tiny bit of cleanup. I left out that you have to toss out the K-CUP when it has cooled off. did my best to get your attention. The coffee maker is a one cup very fast coffee brewer that uses the common K-CUPS or if you prefer your own brew. You can use the included adapter for making coffee of your very own. Did I add it is very fast, yes, it is. Like Really Fast. The whole coffee maker only takes up about the space of an average hand laid onto the countertop. It is really small. The maker also has a reminder when it is time to descale , so no worries and no hoping you’re doing it right. I feel it is a great value for the money, and is very, very easy to use, and very quiet, no problems waking up your partner when you just have to have the coffee in the morning. All you have to do is fill the reservoir with the amount of water for your particular cup and in less than a minute you have your brew ready.

   Disclaimer. I am a widower in my eighties, so it is just me wanting coffee in the morning. It takes about 5 minutes to complete the process so if you are married let your wife go first. Happy wife–happy life. I would advise reading the instructions; it doesn’t take long. After your coffee has brewed let it set for about 15-20 seconds to completely drain the pod. If you don’t there will be a little puddle to clean up. Be careful removing the pod holder unless you have let it cool off. Whether it makes a good cup of coffee depends more on your coffee than the coffee maker. This one works as well as a Keurig but is not as expensive. The big test for me will be its longevity. I had a Keurig Express and it only lasted 15 months which is the main reason I decided to give this brand a try.

   We got ourselves a similar version of a mini coffee maker for K-cups to use on our camping trips. Unfortunately, that unit turned out to be quite a hassle to use. It has a 6oz (about 177.44 ml) marking, but it had to have more water, otherwise it would leak. It also took forever to warm up the water. In comparison, this unit is super-fast to heat, it works well for either K-cup capsules or your own ground coffee. I specifically tested it with a 6oz selection because the design has to utilize minimum amount of water and have it hot from the get go. It excelled with both the k-cups and the ground coffee. It has a window on the side for the fill level, although I wish the markings would have been darker color to allow only a glance at. Bottom line, we fall in love with this tiny unit. Super functional for our camping trips. Takes no space, and will brew coffee for both winter and summer, and do even tea (we have different tea in K-cups). It is so compact, convenient, and light that we started to use it when we sit or entertain outdoors, plugged in the outlet in the gazebo. A pitcher of water and k-cups next to it and some disposable hot drink cups. A pleasure.

    It is obvious that this is well made. The manual was written well and looked great. BUT there was a glaring mistake. There are 3 bags of different sizes of O-ring. 2 of them are labeled 1.1 and another 1.2. One of them is a supposes to be 1.0. Checked the manual and the o-rings are there labeled, nice photos in color. The color doesn’t agree with the size printed below the label. I tried to use the 22LR size on my model 41. It was very loose and needed o-rings. I tried every color and they made the size too big to fit I the barrel. I tried the 5.56 size and it was a perfect fit, go figure. I put batteries in the green laser, screwed the 5.56 into it. Problem. It would start with good light and quickly fade. I tried multiple battery packs. I so wanted this to be a good fit for me, but alas, not the case. Pity, because they spent some money to build this, but forgot to get someone that knows these things to proof read the manual at least.

    Overall great mini coffee maker (up to 12oz) Packaged really well and instructions are right up top. I like the quality of the maker and it’s not loud while pouring. It comes with a coffee grounds cup to add your own grounds and also comes with a k cup holder which is my personal favorite. It works great. Had my first cup of coffee after my old maker broke over a week ago so was ready. Price definitely matches the durability and quality. So far so good. I was surprised it gave a 2 minute making time so I suppose that’s from start to finish because once the water was poured and It started brewing it was fast and easy within a minute or so. *HEADS UP* I have a lot of camping yeti mugs that will not fit under my only recommendation is making a coffee maker that will fill those to-go cups bigger than the regular coffee mug size!

    This item has a 4.2 rating and I’m giving it 5 stars. I had another single-serve coffee maker from another manufacturer, in the same price range, that I thought was great. I had a bit of a gaffe during cleaning and it was no longer operational. My bad, but I needed a quick replacement. This is definitely a step up in regard to function and features. I’m very happy with it and my beloved morning coffee is better in the Horavie than in my previous coffee maker. It’s easy to use, runs quieter, hotter, and has a descaling reminder. I like the view window and the 4 cup sizes as well as the lit-up brew button. The reusable filter is huge, and I’m looking forward to a stronger cup as a result―and less plastic waste, too. Great little machine.

    Edited 3-10-2025 K-cups are designed to make only 6-8 ounces of coffee. This is not enough. Fortunately, this maker has a basket filter for bulk grinds. I will need to open two pods to make one 12-ounce serving. Keep this in mind if you’re considering a K-pod system unless you drink very little or weak coffee. I had previously given this one star, due to the terrible design and lack of instructions on how to open the filter pod. It is not immediately obvious, even to someone as mechanical as myself, repairing things like automobiles, televisions, washing machines, being an electronics tech for over 40 years, etc. I finally had to pry this thing open with a dental pick tool. After this, the method to open would appear to be to hold it in both hands and press your thumb up on the plastic plastic piece shown on the left side of my photo. The other thing I will alert you to when you open this coffeemaker and wonder why the K-pod holder appears to be missing is that they pack it into the water reservoir. So, these annoyances aside, how does the Horavie K1500 fare? Being retired and living alone with absolutely no friends, I finally realized that I’ll likely never be making coffee for anyone other than myself and I typically brew 12 ounces at a time. The compact footprint of the K1500 takes very little real estate from my very small counters. The fact that I can just brew straight into my thermal cup means no carafe to clean or pour from. The K-pods mean I don’t need to bend a cone filter’s edges, grind coffee beans, or measure in grounds. These may seem like trivial things, but once you retire, you start thinking about ways to reduce the little daily chores. At least, I have. This is why I’ve “Smartitized” the house, automating practically everything: lights, fans, heaters, stereo, television, etc. Aside from opening the filter pod, this K1500 is easy to deploy. The first thing is just to add 12 ounces of water to it, place a cup in the stand, an push the button on top. I like the fact they put it on top instead of on the side of the base. Very convenient. Empty the first “brewed” water and grab a K-pod. I’m assuming this is the primary reason people buy this coffeemaker. This is my first experience with K-pod makers. I would never buy the overpriced Keurig units, especially aftwr discovering they actually put cameras in some of them to try and prevent consumers from using other than Keurig coffee pods. What a jerk move. By the way, if you own one of these, just save the foil tops from Keurig pods and tape them to the top of your other brand pods. This K1500 does indeed brew a 12-oz cup in under 2 minutes. There is, of course, no hot plate, so I advise using an insulated cup. The blue one in my photo has a capacity of 16 ounces and works well. I also bought it on coffeemakers.us.com. The unit turns itself off. I add my sugar before brewing, so I need only to stir and snap on the lid. The temperature of the coffee is slightly on the lower side. The best coffee is brewed between 190 and 205 degrees Fahrenheit. This maker does not come close to reaching these temperatures. I measured the stream with a laser thermometer and found it to be around 160-165 degree at its hottest. This should be adequate for most people. The first coffee pods I purchased are Mel’s Drive-In Diner Blend. I will not review them until I’ve tasted them more, but the initial opinion is okay.

    This is the second single serve coffee maker I’ve gotten in the last month. I like this one far better than the first one. This may seem like a simple thing, but I like knowing when I’ve got the maximum amount of water in the reservoir, and this has the maximum marked. It quickly brews a nice hot cup of coffee without boiling the water. I love the choice between using coffee grounds or k-cups. It’s just amazing what you can fit into a single serve these days. Now, my mom feels like she’s living in an airbnb because she doesn’t have to come all the way downstairs to get it. The white color is subtle and blends right into the decor. The only reason I took a star off is because they claim if you wait 12 to 15 seconds after it finishes brewing, it won’t drip. Well, it does drip. I don’t much care. I’d be amazed if there’s a coffee maker out there at any price that doesn’t drip. But you can’t make a claim and then not back it up, and some people might care, so off goes that one star. Otherwise, this is a great little coffee maker.

    UPDATE: it actually works fine but if the lid is just a little off center (it wiggles) it won’t work at all. Updating my review to reflect this. It’s a good size for a compact kitchen and easy to use when the top is aligned perfectly.

    This is a good small coffee maker if you’re tight on space or and don’t need to make multiple cups in a row. It takes K-cups type pods but also comes with a small basket for using your own ground coffee if that’s what you prefer. I compared it against my much bigger K-cup maker which I’ve probably had for 15 years. Both have a descaling feature which something you need to pay attention to, especially if you have hard water. The old K-cup maker is much larger and takes up a chunk of counter space. The new Horavie is several inches shorter and narrower and has a much smaller footprint. Weight wise, the Horavie comes in at 2 lbs, 3 oz., with the OG K-cup maker coming in at a whopping 10 lbs, 7 oz. However, the real proof comes to see how fast it actually makes a cup of coffee. After turning both makers on and running a single cup of hot water through them just to get them heated up, the Horavie takes just over two minutes to make a single 12 oz. cup while the older K-cup maker taking just over 1 minute. However, if you start them both up, cold, the old K-cup maker takes a couple more minutes to warm up, presumably because it holds much more water. The older K cup maker holds about 48 oz. of water while the reservior in the Horavie only holds 12 oz., or just enough for a single cup. So if you need to make multiple cups of coffee for a bunch of impatient people, you probably need a larger, heavier duty coffee maker like the old one I still have. However, for people who don’t mind the smaller reservior and don’t mind an extra minute of brewing time, then this K-cup maker will work just fine. Not to mention the smaller footprint on your counter which can make a huge difference if you’re tight on space.. PRODUCT UPDATE: After using this for a month, I decided to do an update. MY overall rating dropped one star. Everything I said before is still accurate, but after using it. I would not buy the white model. The reason is it splatters, especially when it’s finishing a cup. The splattered coffee shows up on the white coffee maker. If I had it to do over, I’d get the black.
