   This little coffee maker worked fine for many months but eventually took longer and longer to do its thing. I determined that it was cycling on and off before it finished, which it isn’t supposed to do until brewing is complete. I cleaned it thoroughly and used a descaling solution but it only improved slightly. It’s still working, it just takes about twenty minutes to brew “four” cups. Also, though this is ostensibly a “5-cup” brewer, even with the water tank filled to “MAX” it only comes to the “4” marking on the carafe, which is two 10oz cups (~600ml).

    This is so far a much better 5 cup coffee maker than the Krups one I had previously purchased. When you open the cover to fill with water and coffee, it stays firmly up. It is much easier to fill with water than the Krups. The permanent coffee filter seems to be made of a much better quality. The Krups is rather flimsy and within a short period of time it appeared to be pulling apart. Lastly, this carafe is made of Duralite and feels to be more sturdy and the lid stays up when you are filling with water. The Krups carafe spout chipped and due to that defect the coffee would spill on the counter. The carafe was not dropped or banged in any way. And, it was not even used every day.

    Easy and fast. My wife drinks “real” coffee and I drink “de-caf,” so each morning I make a quick pot of each.
    This machine is fast, easy to use, and easy keep clean.
    She is very fussy about her coffee strength, brand, taste, and quality.

    Bought this small, simple, 5-cup coffeemakers.us.com coffee maker to replace my 4-cup Mr. Coffee, which stopped working after one year. This unit does exactly what it says: Makes 5 cups of coffee! No frills, just an on/off button and a pretty quick drip process. My only complaint is it is VERY lightweight, with no rubber “feet” on the bottom (it actually sits on these small rectangular pieces of plastic, which is a bit odd), so I got a piece of old yoga mat to keep it from slipping on the counter. So far so good. I appreciate that it has an auto stop function so I can get my first cup o’ joe before it’s done perking.

    I am a morning coffee drinker, and this coffee pot meets all my needs. Simple to operate, with no bells or whistles. Put coffee in the basket, water in the tank, turn on the switch, coffee drips into carafe. Coffee stays hot during my 2 or 3 cups. Must remember to turn switch off, and the lack of an automatic cut off reduces my rating to 4 stars. But, overall it is a good, simple 4 stars coffee pot, and the price was right.

    I’ve just had this coffee maker for six months, and it’s really terrible. It has never poured straight (see first photo), so you end up with coffee all over the counter when you pour, and the base the carafe sits upon has corroded. Spend the money for a higher quality coffee maker. This one is very cheap, and it shows.

    I honestly love this coffee maker. It’s small, easy to clean and makes a good cup of coffee. I got rid of the Keurig I had due to I preferred this little coffee maker more and it’s less messy and noisy and less upkeep. I love this fits in small spaces and makes a fantastic tasting coffee every morning without fail. Cost wise it’s worth it and perfect for a small brew for one person. I like have the option to make more coffee if I want to for guests but it’s perfect for smaller batches too.

    My husband loves black coffee. He drinks it all day and he wants it to always be hot. Therefore, he is not interested in the all of the whistles and bells that most coffee makers now include. He does not want to program his coffee and absolutely does not want the machine to automatically turn off. This is the perfect no-frills coffee maker for my man. And it was perfect for two months. But now the water doesn’t drain through the grounds properly. It overflows the filter and grounds end up in the coffee pot. I have tried flushing the machine with plain water and with vinegar water. It still makes coffee but I usually have to strain it into the coffee mug. Disappointing.

    UPDATE: Photos show complete fill before brewing & results after….this does not make a full pot… You simply cannot fill the coffee maker with water all the way without it leaking out the hole at the top in back and when it’s done brewing the carafe is not full. The wood of my kitchen cart is now ruined from the first time I used it. Not pleased.

    This little guy is a great product to have, When I first put my hand in the carafe to clean, it had a piece of sharp plastic where the handle meets the lid, but I sanded it down with an emery board, did the job perfectly. The coffee pot is easy to clean, meets my daily 2 cup limit, and more if you want. I like the simplicity of it and the fact that the coffee warmer keeps it hot while you cook your meal. I highly recommend this small but powerful coffee pot. Be nice to it, the glass carafe is delicate.

    It’s nice, small, compact. Makes a nice cup of coffee. It’s fast (Faster than my old Keurig). I’d like to see a built in timer. But for now a smart plug will work. Worth the $25 I paid for it. Would like to see some rubber ft on the bottom to prevent slipping.

    One month update: this thing is a mess. Even when you stick to the fill limit of the coffee basket, it overflows, plugging the valve and leaving grounds into the filter holder and the coffee carafe itself – every, flipping, morning, I have to clean it. Yes, starting with a freshly cleaned filter. Yes, I do use coffee specifically ground for a filter machine. Also the warming element cooks the coffee, turns it into a gas station bitter swill in no time flat. I wish I had returned it with it the first month. Initial review: The basket has a maximum capacity of 76g (2.7oz) coffee grounds before it overflows and you have to clean up grounds from everywhere inside. Using the Peet’s coffee recipe ratio of 1g of coffee per 16g of water, this coffeemaker can only handle 1.2l / 8.5 cups of water. And since you lose about a cup of water to evaporation and absorption into the grounds, this is really only a 7.5 cup maker. NOT 12 cups. Unless maybe you are making weak American style coffee.

    Unintended consequences of switch location: The good: -Simple. -Large easily read fill gauge. -Coffee brews quickly and tastes fine (I use paper filters because they absorb bitter oils). Could be better: -The on/off switch is stiff, hard to push, and cheap feeling. -The switch is located on a vertical surface. Trying to pushing the switch on or off only slides the machine across the counter. Thus operating it is a two hand job, using the left hand to oppose this motion. In the second photo I’ve shown my work around: neoprene with the porous face down was glued to the bottom of the machine. Now I can turn it on or off with one hand for it no longer slides away when I push on the switch. I bought this instead of another Mr. Coffee because I don’t need or use the obligatory clock and timer found on those others, and because the fill gauge is exceptionally easy to read. But my advice is to get a Mr. Coffee or some other brand with a softer touch switch located on either a horizontal or inclined surface. August 3, 2022: I am adding to my review. After 10 months the heating element only works intermittently, shutting off before even half the water has been heated. Others are now reporting the same failure in their reviews. Suspect a weak electrical connection internally which is heat sensitive. Before tossing in the trash I opened and inspected. The thermostat is faulty. It cuts off after a few oz of coffee have been made. It will then cool and reset and resume making coffee, only to repeat this off/on cycle ever few ounces. Mine failed in the 10th month but a recent reviewer had the same failure in the first month. Buy something else.

    Totally easy to use. It has a basket, so no need to constantly use filters. The coffee tastes good. To fill, you pour straight into a tank, as fast as you like, with no grill to pour through. My only real complaint is that it keeps getting empty.
