I bought this set after dropping and cracking my original basket cover. This one works great and the little handle that they’ve created is super useful as the original one does not, which was one of the reasons I kept dropping it. I like to stir my grounds about halfway through the brewing process and having that little handle to pick up the lid is a great addition. I kinda like that one of them is clear as I have this odd habit of watching my coffee brew. Several months in working like a charm, seems very durable, definite upgrade to the OEM.

Honestly, I’ve never really burned my fingers while removing my Technivorm brew basket lid, but the simple addition of the little handle quickly feels so natural to use that trying to go back to the standard lid would be an unpleasant shock. Quality-wise, the opaque black lid looks identical to the “official” Techivorm lid. I haven’t used the see-thru lid, but having a spare is nice.
