   First impression “way to small” but once i put to work it did what i needed It makes a good plus sized cup of coffee. Around 9 oz. Its compact size is great for my lack of storage space and it is not that difficult to clean and no wasteful paper filters. you can see touch and clean all the parts easily It want shatter like the last french-press I had and enjoyed.    We always enjoy some french press coffee every morning. After using a french press for a while, you’ll find yourself storing your old drip coffee maker because it just doesn’t seem to cut it. This particular Highwin french press seems to be of very high quality. We’ve been using it now for several days. The seal when pressing is really good, not letting any grounds get past and into your cup. The whole thing is easily disassembled for cleaning (the screen can be taken apart, and put in the dishwasher). The handle is welded on, so there are no concerns there. Pros: * Stainless steel * Double walled, insulated * Easy pour spout means no spilled coffee * Replaceable filter screen * Dishwasher safe * Extra filter screen included * Sleek design. * Quality construction * Perfect size for two large cups of coffee. Cons: * I’m grasping here, but if it was vacuum sealed, the insulation would be even better. That said, you generally shouldn’t leave coffee sitting in a french press for that long anyway, as it will get very acidic on you. Overall: I’m very happy with this french press. I expect that we will be using it for years to come. I did receive this item at a discounted price in exchange for an honest review.

   Purchased this for my son’s dorm room so he could have coffee first thing in the morning at a fraction of the cost of espresso cart. Heat the water up in the microwave, make the coffee while taking a morning shower or just getting dressed. I’ve had many glass French presses over the decades, but never a stainless one. It turns out terrific coffee on par with our stove top Bialetti espresso maker, and uses 1/4 less coffee grounds to do it. Win-win.

   I’m surprised no-one has addressed a design issue that makes the Highwin difficult to clean properly. Specifically: the fact that, in addition to the screw-off bottom to release the plunger assembly for cleaning the parts separately (good), the Highwin has a screw-off top at the other end that releases the lid (bad). Having screw tops at both ends makes it hard to keep a purchase on either end, particularly when everything is wet because you’re in the middle of washing it. And of course it’s the top end that wants to come off first, leaving you to struggle with a thin metal plunger that’s hard to get a grip on while you try to release the bottom part. I had to enlist my husband’s help to do that because I simply didn’t have the patience or the strength in my hands to manage it (whereas with other French Presses I have owned this has never been a problem because the tops didn’t screw off). He had to use rubber gloves to get the necessary traction. I write this on Day One. I will reassemble the parts so that it’s not quite so tight on the bottom, and hope that I don’t continue to do battle with the plunger again tomorrow. I’m generally loath to send things back – I’m not terribly fussy and can adapt to minor inconveniences – but this design flaw just might drive me to it. I did so want a metal French Press after breaking the glass ones, but this nuisance issue just might be a deal-breaker. I’ll report back in a few days. Maybe the solution would be to glue the top part in place – but one shouldn’t have to resort to such a fix on a brand-new product. UPDATE: Unscrewing the bottom part for cleaning every day has a way of loosening the screw at the top and once again I am struggling to get the bottom off because I have no purchase on top. After using the Highwin for a week, I am returning it. And by the way, if the fact that “three cup” French Presses only hold 12 ounces of liquid is a problem for you, the Highwin is definitely not the product you want. The Highwin is even smaller than the glass ones that claim this capacity. If you actually put 12 ounces of water in, it comes nearly to the top. Adding the coffee grounds plus the spoon to stir everything will definitely displace their weight and you will have a mess on your hands when you put the plunger in (see photos of the Highwin filled with 12 oz of water, and the two French presses side-by-side for size comparison). At least the other brands allow room to maneuver. The Highwin will yield 1.25 cups, no more.

   i was about to go “mount st helens” until i rigged my OLD french press center rod to accommodate the pitcher depth of this one. you have to understand, if the length of the center rod isnt long enough, the mesh plate (when plunged) wont press the grounds tightly enough, therefore, a POOL of otherwise delicious coffee will be left behind in the bottom. i can see this working for people who will be using it to medium/full capacity but i make single serve. i need a longer center rod to reach the grounds to create a firm press. luckily i like the way i just used my old part interchangeably. or else it’d be sent back. conclusion: i got lucky. but bear in mind what ive said! and highwin: what the heck was this company thinking?!

    I don’t drink coffee myself, all of my friends and family do. I don’t want to deal with grumpy, caffeine-deprived houseguests, but I also don’t wat to spend a fortune on a clunky coffee machine that only gets used periodically. This french press solves the problem perfectly! It’s easy to use and clean, looks fantastic and brews a great cup of coffee (according to my guest, and she’s a picky coffee drinker). Remember to get coarse ground coffee.

    This is a well made and nicely finished French Press and I would give it 5 stars for looks. However, on filling it with hot water it immediately felt warm to the touch which means it is not insulating, and in fact it lost heat as quickly as an non-insulated glass French press. 1 star for that. Buyers beware! Buy for looks not insulating properties.

    Looks really nice and performs wells but the quality of materials lacks. I’ve had it a little less than 10 days and the bottom has already lost its copper coating and there’s a small hole which effects the vacuum. It still functions well (the dual filters are life changing), I just wouldn’t spend the money to replace it.

    To be fair, it doesn’t claim to be dishwasher-safe but it also doesn’t say it *isn’t* dishwasher-safe. Obviously, it is t because this is what happened the first time I tried. Heartbreaking, because it really is (was) very pretty. Only deducting one star because it’s still a great little French press and I also feel like I should take responsibility for assuming it was dishwasher safe without verification…but I also feel that if this happens the first and only time I put it in the dishwasher, that maybe there should’ve been a disclaimer. I’ll probably replace it eventually, just because the missing paint irritates me every time I look at it. Again—great French press, beautiful color…but absolutely do NOT wash in dishwasher.

    I’m concerned that the coating is coming off coffee press. I keep it on a rubber trivet, and use a donor pad to clean, so I’m not abusing it. The coffee is great and no bad aftertaste, but I hope all this coating does not come off.

    I looked at many options for a coffee press that would be right for one serving. I liked that this was stainless steel so it would be shatter proof. I have found that it works fantastically. It does what it is supposed to do, producing coffee that isn’t muddy & tastes like coffee. It also keeps the coffee warm for quite a while. I have seen reviewers complain about the sound of the plunger. I suppose that is a matter of your taste & sensitivity, but, FWIW, it did not annoy me. I highly recommend this press.

    I recently remodeled my kitchen and ended up with a lot of copper… Saying candles coffee pot etc. I guess I’m on a roll now… So when my silver stainless steel coffee press gave out after years and years of wear and tear of course on the center filter/screens, I bought this one on a used like new and saved six dollars.     For the first time ever, I tried a cup of French Press coffee. It was amazing and I just had to purchase a 12oz. for myself. I purchased the Highwin Small Stainless Steel French Press, 12oz Dual-Filter Coffee Plunger through coffeemakers.us.com. I was so excited until……….I opened the box and found the top of the plunger handle BENT. (SEE ATTACHED PICTURE) I could tell that the box had been in someone else’s hands, been opened and returned. WHY would coffeemakers.us.com put this back on whatever shelf they have and send it to someone else, ME! ALWAYS ME that gets the defective product! I’M TIRED OF IT! I am NOT thrilled about having to return this and wait for another. I’ve not used it as I got it yesterday (9-30-24). I should have known better! This is the 3rd defective product I’ve ordered and the country of origin — CHINA. I didn’t check where it was coming from. So fed up and so disappointed!!!!!! Part of me wants to just keep it and a bigger part knows I need to return it but I’m just so exhausted from this happening too often. What would you do?

    *pictures currently have coffee in the press, oops!* My boyfriend and I prefer french press over any other form of making coffee and find that this product is a great fit! The flavor is great and is relatively easy to clean since you can unscrew the mesh from the base to soak. The only thing is, the last little bit of coffee tends to have quite a bit of grounds in it- but I think that goes for any press (we use Bustelo so its relatively fine already). Would recommend this product to anyone willing to switch to french pressed coffee!

    This small French press pot is grand for a small bit of coffee in the middle of the night. BUT it did not like its bath in the dishwasher. So after I peeled off the paint- which was coming off anyway., I took two colours of nail varnish ( on the clearance shelf at Marshall’s/TJ Maxx, I shook the bottles and dripped them over one side, let that side dry, a d did the same on the other side. One may note that whilst the red body paint peeled off, the seller HIGHWIN’s logo paint did not peel off. What a shame they cut corners on the body paint.. . .profit reigning over product . . .     I have used this daily for 3 years but about one year in, the gooey copper coating started globing up on the handle. I usually pour with a napkin around it. Disappointed. Keeps things hot though. Sigh.
