   I bought this product for it’s versatily – single cup, multicup, Kcup, coffee/ tea and the inline water supply. You need to change the basket and/or water disbursement depending on your wish. If I want tea…needs conical basket, you want 5 cup coffee then change to flat basket. You want to use a Kcup, switch conical or flat basket basket to K cup assembly and change water disbersement unit that you must purchase separately for $85 CAD. Want to store the insulated container after you’re done with the Kcup, you have to remove the Kcup hardware and insert flat basket … very poorly designed. Having a party and you want a full karaf, change back to flat basket and non K Cup water disbursement.

   I’d return the whole thing if I kept the packaging. Very disappointing.

   Purchase one for my wife and I in 2016 and for my daughter and son-in-law in 2018 . Both are doing well . Coffee maker has performed excellently for 8 years now still gives a good hot fresh cup of coffee. Make sure you replace the filter and suggested.

   I was just having yet another cup of coffee from my Brew Express, got to thinking how much I enjoy this coffeemaker and thought it only appropriate to sing their praises via. coffeemakers.us.com Review. After three years of ownership and one, if not multiple, pots of coffee brewed per day it performs every time. It was just as easy to install to the water line as in the video and I have never had a problem. My daughter enjoys easily changing the filter cone to single and brewing single cups of hot chocolate and my wife occasionally uses it as an ‘insta-hot’ when she needs hot water for cooking. Another feature I realized only after-the-fact was that the pot is insulated to keep coffee hot inside for hours, but this allows for no heating elements on the machine itself and the bottom of the pot is cool as a result and can be set on any counter surface. This coffee pot was on the higher end of expense, but was one of the few that had the direct line water line feature I was after. It was well worth the price. Now, if they could make a coffee grinder that was just as well made I would buy it…I have been through three in the same I have had the pot….

   You need the proper filter to ensure your water is free of the smallest particulates. My first one lasted 8 years on an ok filter. The carafe on the first one, after a few years, started to turn brown. With a good filter, it stays clean. This one will probably last longer.

    This is the 2nd one I purchased. Our last one sold with our old house … and we used it everyday for 16 years. We love drip coffee… just a pain to pour water in it everyday… I know “how lazy” 😂 … but it makes it very convenient. The new model also makes hot water on demand. Best countertop coffee maker out there… and over 16 years of convenience, worth the high cost to us.

    Easy to hook up. Don’t need to fill a water tank. You can take the carafe to the other room and it stays hot for hours. I did get an extra carafe so I can rotate when we have company over. Very happy so far.

    Great coffee maker. It’s easy to use and the temperature of the brewed coffee is ideal. The only drawback was that after 3 years it stopped functioning and it was due to scale buildup. We sent it in to the manufacturer and they said keep it descaled. However, there are no easy ways to keep any autofill coffee makers from scale buildup even with an inline filter. Most coffee makers require descaling twice a year in addition to using an inline filter. My husband put together a simple container that can be filled with citric acid powder mix that enters the entire system (he fills it 3 times and fills to 5 cup mark). The container has threaded ends for opening/sealing. After the third run through the system he removes the container, reconnects the lines to the original filter, and stores the container until next scheduled descaling. It works great.

    I waited over a year to get this coffee pot while the manufacturer moved production from overseas to the USA. It was well worth the wait. It’s a little pricey but being able to program a plumbed coffee maker is worth it. My last plumbed coffee machine wasn’t programmable. I love the night light too. Definitely worth the money.

    Please PLEASE save yourself some major headache and a bunch of money and DO NOT BUY THIS COFFEE MAKER. I wish I could give it zero stars. We’ve had it installed for four months and it all of a sudden started flashing EEEE and won’t brew any coffee. The manual suggested we purchase a new culligan water filter for the fridge system we originally installed upon getting this coffee maker (at the recommendation of the coffee maker manufacturer to make sure everything operates the way it should). We still get the flashing EEEE and upon further research this is a very common issue that you can get easily clogged by “water debris” and then it will not function. I’m guessing water debris is from hard water which while we do have hard water in our area, we have a giant water softener system so I’m guessing everyone will have this issue. Also you cannot clean it with vinegar or anything else because it’s not a “consumer serviceable machine” and taking the back off the unit will destroy it. You have to call a technician. RIDICULOUS. Do not buy this piece of crap unless you want a three hundred dollar paper weight.

    I purchased my Brew Express in 2014 and have been using it daily. I am very happy with this appliance. It was simple to set up and program, brews very good coffee, is convenient, and looks good. The price, in my opinion, is consistent with its features and performance. I also purchased the Permanent Coffee Filter, and the Single Shot Brew Basket, which is a Kcup adapter. Whether I brew a single cup using the standard brew basket and permanent filter, multiple cups using the standard brew basket and permanent filter, or a Kcup using the single shot brew basket (Kcup adapter), the coffee consistently tastes excellent and is the right temperature. In addition to having a top line appliance as is the Brew Express, for excellent coffee one also needs the correct volume of coffee grounds to start with, and high quality water. The coffee grounds volume requires experimentation.     The direct water line attachment is very convenient. It easily connected to the filtered water line going to the refrigerator. The profile is nice – it fits nicely on the counter and the blue backlight adds character. There are two brew baskets – one for the carafe and another to brew one cup at a time. You can also use the machine for a single cup of hot water for tea… The water is heated on demand – in the video below you will see that the temperature is about 162 degrees F using a digital instant read thermometer. The Speciality Coffee Association (SCA) has a home brewer certification program and they recommend a minimum water temp of 197.6 F (92 C) and at least 4 minutes of contact time between the water and grounds for optimal flavor extraction. I find the flavor to be bland with the Brew Express. My prior Behmor coffee maker was SCA certified and the flavor and aroma were exquisite using exactly the same ground coffee. The water temperature and contact time with grounds is clearly important for optimal flavor extraction.
