Who me? Verified Buyer –
Knocked one star off, because Bella does not offer replacement carafes. Treat with care.
Other than that, follow all instructions and make amazing coffee. Brews at the right temp. I got 196 from the start and peaked at 201. It will not bloom automatically, but extremely easy to do a manual bloom using the dial. I watched as It soaked all the grounds evenly.
Makes a full 8 cup pot in 6.5 minutes. 5oz of water is a cup, so it’s a 40oz carafe.
Starting from scratch, it took three pots to dial in the strength I wanted. I do drink it weaker than suggested. Enclosed scoop is 5 grams. Bella suggests 1 scoop per cup. I like 4 grams ( with a manual bloom for 30ish seconds and a stir). It may be different per coffee variety.
No comment on longevity. Feels well made but not heavy.
No regrets buying it ( elsewhere for less).

Made decent coffee while it lasted… For 11 months. The plastic water reservoir where the heated stainless steel pipe sits on that transfers water to the section that has coffee started to crack from the heat. Crappy design. Save yourself $100 and get a more reputable brand.

This unit is basically the same design principles of the well known Technivorm Moccamaster, but made more cheaply (e.g. plastic instead of glass tubing). I’ve used a Moccamaster a fair bit, but never was impressed enough to spend the money to bring one home. I got this as a spare on a good sale due to positive reviews over on BB, and I haven’t been disappointed. It’s a little fiddly and basic (just like a Moccamaster), but for under $50, this is a no-brainer.
The temps are good so far, and once I played with the grind strength the coffee is really quite good. If you are sat in front of it, you can manually close the slide and “bloom” the coffee at the start for a better pot — I find around 90 seconds or so is perfect (but obviously this depends on how coarse you’ve ground your beans), and then I open it half way. A finer grind might get you a lot of the way there without being stood in front of it at the beginning of each pot.
No idea how long it’ll last, but we’ve had decent luck with a waffle maker from this brand that we use regularly. Not expecting anything crazy — Bella is a value brand, but so far so good with them!
