   From the pictures and description it seemed like a good buy however, when it arrived there was few things wrong with it right away 1. I noticed that there was grease marks in side where the coffee and water would be tried to clean it with soap and water with little luck there was still some residue left over 2. In addition at the bottom there was almost some sort of dent like markings which may lead to leaks in the future did not try to brew coffee due to grease not coming out 3. The plunger was not long enough as it was off a different “mini” french press, and the filters cannot be removed as stated in instructions the top screwed off instead of the bottom Sending item back right away, will invest in better quality you do get what you pay for this is absolute waste of time pure garbage!

   This stainless steel french press seems well built. It is double walled, which seems to retain some heat, but it is not vacuum insulated like a double walled tumbler or mug. It does get warm on the outside, which shows it is losing some heat. I got the grey version, and it has a textured coating on it that seems pretty thick and durable. The mechanism to push down the coffee is smoother than my other stainless press, it feels very nice. The press also is able to push all the way down to the grounds for maximum extraction.
   The press comes installed with 2 fine stainless filters stacked together, and an extra on in the box.

   Very nice product. Love the look. Love the fact that they give you 2 years warranty that means they’re confident of the quality of their product. Don’t see why this won’t last me for a long time, don’t see any plastic parts. As for the coffee it makes well that depends on the brand coffee you use and the user in my opinion. You decide how strong you want your coffee and I think fresh coffee tastes much better so why would you want it to sit for hours before drinking it. If it keeps my coffee warm for an hour then that’s enough for me (didn’t test this though and don’t think I need to). It does leave very very little coffee grounds in your cup but hey we’re talking about very tiny tiny parts so I don’t think it’s possible to pour a cup without a little bit ground coming in your cup. Update: Seems like it does let too much ground through. Don’t know if it’s because of a dent. Also beware of false advertisement.

   I am a huge tea drinker. I have at least 3-5 cups every day. I had heard of a coffee press but up until recently I never considered owning one.    My office provides hot water and i wanted to try to acclimate my taste buds to black coffee with cinnamon. I use small grounds and this press keeps them out of my cup! The cinnamon soothes the acidity of the coffee and i think I’m starting to like the taste! Update: 7/27/18. Welp that didn’t last past three brews. There are grounds in my coffee on even the first cup now. The extra filters aren’t a good deal if they don’t last even a few weeks. Returning and going to drip coffee.

    I have had this plunger for 6 months or so. We use it to infuse black and green tea. The filter blocks any tea leaves from flowing out (as expected). It also does a decent job keeping the pot warm due to the double lining. When it is full of hot water, you can still touch the outer housing. You can also place the pot without a mat to protect the timbre table.

    Sometimes, I left the tea and leaves in the pot overnight, yet the inside does not appear to have been discoloured. It is little fiddlely to disassemble the plunger by unscrewing to clean, but overall, it has been a good product. I’m sure it will work equally well with coffee.

    I recommend this product.

    This produced the hottest cup of pressed coffee, from first thru last cup, of any press I’ve owned. I live half the year in Lake Country, deep Up-northern Minnesota, and half the year on the beaches in Eastern Florida. Patiently enjoying the view with a hot cup of coffee is kinda my thing. The Bellemain French press has made this experience so much better. When I received the press the packaging wasn’t anything special; I was skeptical. Was I ever surprised when I opened the box and pulled the safely packed press out. It was well constructed, clean welds, and good weight for its size. I examined it closely for possible defects and I was only more impressed with the craftsmanship of this product. It doesn’t really talk about it but it uses a double screen filter and comes with an extra set. They can be divided into individuals if you prefer the taste of single screen filtering. Personally, my family’s French and I grew up with grounds in my cup and love it a bit less refined. I read the basic but thorough manual and put it in a file. I took it apart, gave it a good wash and dry and reassembled it in the morning. I boiled water on the stove, allowed to cool to just under a boil and poured it in with my grounds, steeped for four minutes, and pressed. I was a little disappointed not being able to watch it thru the glass but quickly got over it as I poured my first thru last cup! It stayed hot the entire time. Clean up was truely a breeze. I didn’t have to worry about breaking it and it rinsed right out. The double screens are easier than some I’ve had (but honestly I usually just rinse them for awhile to season my press.) Water spots and finger prints wipe right of and don’t seem to be an issue for me. There are a two things I would change; First, better packaging. It sounds petty but I’d love to give this as a gift and the box looks a little cheap. (I think I still would 😉 Second, there is a front side to the lid but it’s hard to tell where it’s possitioned. I’d make a small mark on the front edge for easier identification and pouring.

    After having used and broken 3 Bodum French presses, I’ve given up on thin and pretty glasswear that will crack or break even just from being tipped over. I was a little hesitant to buy a stainless steel French press given the wide range of designs, brands, and prices. The fact that this Bellemain press comes with a two year warranty gave me the confidence to buy it – and I’m very glad I did! The press is heavy/sturdy, and although it makes 4 cups (8 oz), it’s not big and fits well in my small kitchen counter space (the pot is about 8.5″ tall and 4″ across (not counting the handle/spout)). The double wall steel design keeps liquid hot a long time. What really impressed me is that the super fine mesh keeps out basically 100% of the coffee grounds, unlike the meshes on the previous Bodum presses I’ve used – they allowed much more grounds to get through. It’s also super fast/easy to clean. After making coffee, I simply rinse the press and pot under water. To avoid any chance of staining, I also use a paper towel to dry the inside of the pot – and it shines like new! ONE SUGGESTION – please etch 3 groves on the inside of the pot so the user can see how much water he’s adding – when it reaches 8oz, 16oz, and 24oz. Without groves or etchings on the inside of the pot, it’s hard to know when one reaches 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 of the pot. Still, I would definitely buy this again!

    French press seemed to work ok in the filtering department, but quality control must be lacking. It appears the bottom corner was overground which left a small hole. The allowed water to enter in between the two shells and remain trapped. This leaks when hot water is poured in and makes noise when moved around.

    Don’t look any further! You just found the best french press money can buy. I got to use my new french press for the first time today. I owned a few glass french presses in the past but I rarely ventured using them out of (unreasonable) fear of cracking the glass with hot water or not wanting to deal with the mess of cleaning the cumbersome contraption after using it.. Nothing like that with my new Bellemain!! I absolutely love it! The instructions were easy. The brewing process was quick and mess -free.. and the flavor..Mmmmmm..such a delight!     I love shiny kitchen gagedty things. I love them, but a week after buying them, I start to see the first signs of a love affair gone wrong when a fingerprint shows up and won’t come off. At this point, it won’t be long before I become so offended by that fingerprint, I’ll tuck the offending item away in the cabinet somewhere. This is not the case with the Bellemain coffee press. I’ve had it about two weeks now, and I’ve yet to see so much as a discoloration on the surface. It is still just as shiny as the day I unboxed it. I’ve never put it in the dishwasher and although the company says you can, I think things like this never come out looking the same once you do. I hand wash it and immediately dry it, and I think that makes a big difference in shiny maintenance. My coffee stays warm for a little over an hour, which was a huge selling point for me–the glass press just wasn’t cutting it. This press is much heavier than your traditional press, so if you have weak wrists, an injury or arthritis, keep that in mind before you decide to purchase.

    Works OK, but the quality of the outside finish is poor. There is one big spot where the finish is pitted near the handle, and a few other smaller ones around the outside. I would return it if I wanted to use this for guests, but as it is just for me, I will just live with it. If you want a nice one to put out for visitors, I wouldn’t recommend this one.

    Overall the product is beautiful. 1) Before buying this one I wanted to make sure the plunger pushed to the bottom or close to it. Of the many I looked at (All similar & made in China), Bellemain’s advertising photos shows the longest plunger rod. See attached pics. BUT, it was short by 15-20 MM (0.6-08 in) from the Francois et Mini I was currently using and the previous glass 1 liter version which broke. How much can a silly 12-20mm increase Stainless rod length cost? Sure would like a longer plunger so I can push it to the bottom as the older models were and served me well. See four (4) analytical pictures with details. 2) Also the plunger knob, the under side when you pull it has a noticeably sharp edge, If this radius were the same as the top would be super, or simply a round knob. The one star is to get the vendors attention to these issues and possible solutions they can offer. If resolved, I would be a happy 5 star customer.. Lets see what happens.

    I’ll start by saying i love the functionality and the look of this product however there is a grease that forms on the vertical bar when the plunger is pushed through the lid. That grease goes directly into my coffee and sits there and i feel like it changes the flavor of the coffee. The grease is not coffee fats either. It is there whether or not I plunge it into coffee or just through the lid itself. It is a dark grey/blackish color. It gets on my hands every time I use the thing as well.

    The biggest design flaw in this item is that the plunger doesn’t reach anywhere near the bottom, and it seems the other brands also have the same issue. The length from the spout to the bottom is 6 inches and the plunger is also 6 inches, HOWEVER, the area between the top and the plastic knob on top takes up about 2 inches, so the plunger only goes down about 4 inches, leaving 2 inches UNPRESSED COFFEE at the bottom. I’ve had glass ones my whole life and they all reach very near the bottom. It’s unfortunate because this would have otherwise been a really great product. I’m hoping I can find one that doesn’t look like this same REBRANDED item.

    This is a very nice French Press. It’s not flimsy or cheaply made stainless still. I am happy with the quality of its design and being that is isn’t made of glass or plastic parts this one will last a long time compared to my last one.
