   It works. The instructions aren’t in English, but it’s a coffee press. Easy enough to find instructions for these. If preheated (which you ought to always do anyway), it holds heat very well. I used it in my camper, probably 55 degrees F inside, and my second cup of coffee was still hot when I poured it after 15 minutes sitting in the press. I don’t know how that compares to other insulated coffee presses, but compared to an uninsulated press, anyway, it certainly holds heat. It would be nice to see some kind of markings on the body, showing the capacity and steel type. As I use it more, I’ll report on how the wood parts hold up. For now, I’m happy!

   I made the mistake of ordering a travel French Press recently that was so tiny it only made enough for 1 cup of coffee. This press, thankfully, is adequately big enough to make at least 2 cups, so my husband and I can now have decent coffee at the same time while we’re traveling. I like the sturdy design of the BERTILLE. It’s streamlined and easy to clean. It presses with enough resistance, and the mesh keeps the coffee grounds inside the press. I also like that the top has a little arrow printed where you need to align it to pour properly. It’s more efficient than lifting up the press to look, especially if you have carpel tunnel or difficulties with heavier objects. It comes with an extra mesh round, which is convenient. My only improvement would be to give the wood handle and knob a better coat of sealer. Over time, I know the wood is going to dull and possibly crack. I’m going to seal it myself, to avert that outcome later. All told, a nice french press.

   I’m in love with this french press coffee maker! Not only does it make delicious coffee, but the stainless steal keeps it hot for a good while.    We have used this a couple of times, so far, and we’ve been happy with the results. It makes good coffee with very minimal sediment. It works well with regular, pre-ground coffee, as well as coffee we ground specifically for French press in our grinder. My only concern with the pot, itself, is that the handles are wood, and I don’t know how well that will wear with getting wet during washing. We have not tried to froth milk in it, so I can’t say how well that works.

   I’m giving it four stars because it came with extremely minimalistic instructions, which were only in German. I wasn’t expecting to have to research how to make French press coffee on my own before being able to use this. Suggestions for how much coffee to use, how long to let it steep, etc would have been very helpful, as someone new to the method.

    I was excited to finally get a French press for the house but this product does not meet my standards for a food grade item/appliance. There are no stamps/markings anywhere to indicate the material type or food grade safety. The quality and materials are questionable. The top seal looks like it’s been glued on and not well, it’s chipping. The metallic on the inside is not clear and reflective like it should be in high quality stainless steel, instead it resembles aluminum more closely. Mine came scratched on the lid and inside. As I was taking pictures for this review, I discovered more scratching inside along with discoloration that looks like rust. There is no manufacturer (contact) information provided. The instructions are NOT in English. I’m not confident it’s food safe especially not the unit I received, so I won’t be using this.

    This is bigger than your average French press. It’s nice to be able to make more than just 1 or 2 servings at a time, which is handy when you have guests over. I also like that it’s insulated so the water stays hot much longer than in the standard glass presses. The mesh works great with a secure fit, allowing minimal grounds to get through, if any.

    This one is a huge step up from our basic French press that we’ve had for years. It’s heavy duty and feels good holding in the hand. The coffee comes out delicious and so much better than a drip machine. Be aware that there are only minimal instructions, so unless you already know how a French press works, you might have to watch a few YT videos on how to use one. I love the stainless steel and wood combination, and I can tell that this will last a very long time. And very easy to clean!

This press is exactly what we needed for premium coffee. It saves space, is easy to clean and store. I’m also happy that I don’t have to worry about micro plastics leaching into my coffee. The quality is heavy duty and it’s easy to use right out of the box.
