Bought this as a replacement for our old coffee pot. Works well and is easy to operate. Only gave 4 stars because when I fill the reservoir with water, the opening is oddly shaped so I end up with water on the counter. Also the lid doesn’t stay open by itself while I’m filling the water or coffee so I prop it open with the cabinet door.

The heating element broke after 4 months of average use. The red light turns on, but without heat, it won’t brew. Too bad, it was a fine coffee maker, but not worth the purchase in hindsight.
It makes good coffee, but 2 things made me rate it only 4 stars. 1) The power button is on the side and it’s inconvenient enough to be irritating. 2) the burner keeps the coffee so hot that it gets bitter quickly. If you can polish off a pot in less than an hour, it’s not too noticeable, but any longer and it’s harsh. It’s hard to find an easy on/off simple coffee maker these day for a reasonable price, I’d still recommend this purchase.

The contact in the switch broke after 6 months of gentle home use. So when you tried to turn it on, it simply would not turn on, and the switch would not light up.
I bought it because I wanted a simple, mechanical coffee maker without any digital or computerized components. It worked fine and brewed acceptably before the switch broke.
