   On the positive side this does make good coffee and it’s easy to program and use. The only big negative is the warming tray. This is the second B&D I’ve had and both had the same issue. The heat resistant paint on the warming tray is terrible. It begins to come off after several washings. And this is from a normal cloth, not an SOS pad. I can’t imagine how this issue has not been corrected.

   Approximately 2 weeks ago, this black+decker coffee machine has been put into use. By the end of each use, once the handle is retracted from the machine is when the coffee leaks.     We had to return our first order because there was a line/marr in the carafe that looked like it would lead to a crack farther down the line. I will say the return process was very easy. When we received our second machine, we inspected the carafe very carefully and it was perfect. We then started inspecting the rest of the machine when we noticed the buttons were very different looking from the description on the website and even from the picture on the front of the box (photo above: top, what we received; bottom, picture from box). They were not “true” buttons, but something that you depressed. We thought perhaps there was a film covering them, but that was not the case. They felt very flimsy and looked like future trouble. Just depressing then to try them out just felt “off”. We really wanted to like this machine, but we just don’t feel that the quality was up to par. If the buttons had been true buttons, as depicted in the photo/website, we would have kept it. We returned it because of that.

    Buyer Beware!! I purchased this coffee pot for two reasons. Reason one it is a household brand, reason two it fits in my semi truck cabinet. I bought this September 21, 2024 and it broke November 22, 20204. Resister R21 overheated and broke the solder joint (see pic). I will not purchase or recommend this product to anyone. I have since purchased a pour over and electric kettle. I hope this review helps!

DO NOT BUY First of all, it’s odd that many of these reviews are for a different model than the one I am reviewing, which comes from the link in my purchase. I am reviewing this item: BLACK+DECKER 12-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker, DCM100B, Duralife Carafe, Easy-View Water Window, Removable Filter Basket This is the second coffeemaker of this exact model I have purchased. I guess I should have tried a different model the second time. I like the unit very much for looks and performance and price. One problem only: I brew 6 cups of water and 6 scoops of coffee grounds. And sometimes I get coffee grounds either splashed up on the internal interface or indeed in the brewed coffee itself. I even purchased the Disposable Paper Filters for BLACK+DECKER 12 Cup Coffee Makers recommended. It’s as if the coffeemaker wants to make 12 cups and keeps forcing water even after the water is gone. Other than that, I enjoy the coffeemaker, I like the dependable auto brew, it’s very easy to use and looks good on my countertop

    Replace Mr coffee with this. It works, programming is easy, auto shutoff is what we needed. But, no one thought to use this before they sent the design to production. When you open the lid to remove the filter basket after brewing, the water that condensed onto the top drips down the back and onto the counter! Also, drips in the front. Brilliant! The old Mr. Coffee had none of these problems. Shame too as my other appliances are B&D and they’re okay. Update May 2021 – tired of wiping up water on the counter. Bought Bella, someone intelligent designed it!     So we literally only brew coffee two or three times a week . First it stopped draining on it’s own. So we added the clip inside. Helped for a minute but then it started having internal explosions regularly. So we removed the lid. Once again helped for a minute. The binder clip doesn’t always stay on. So sometime it gets forgotten. That is where the popsicles sticks come in. There the only way to stop a full explosion in progress and if not put in in time, coffee grounds will need to be washed out parts you didn’t even know this coffee machine has. This machine is just over two years old now

    Product arrived in original manufacturer box with no signs of damage. After running the first batch of water through to clean the unit, noticed that the handle was unstable. The carafe was broken where the handle connects. There was no glass in the carafe or around the maker. Look in the box and there was no glass in there either. So it appears to have been shipped that way. Contacted Black & Decker via chat as suggested, and they tried to pawn me off to another department (call ### between 9-5 M-F).     We are basic coffee people. We bought another coffee maker the week before that did not have the automatic turn off, so we bought this one(the other is sitting in the basement). We previously had a Black and Decker that finally broke down after many years of use and this was its replacement. Base on our previously experience, we thought B&D would be a good bet, but you get what you pay for. Within two weeks, the lid broke (see picture), and within 3 weeks the “Sneak a Cup” feature stopped working–I thought we could live with it until the lid fell off while pouring coffee this AM–we are beyond return date(and this is not coffeemakers.us.coms fault–they are always great about returns), so we’ll probably order another better built coffee maker. Just wanted to warn folks before you bought this. For a frequent consumer of B&D products, I am disappointed.

For the price it was a good investment so far. I don’t use the program so can’t attest to that feature. With our hard water we normally need to get a new coffee maker every 2 years. Even despite cleaning. Bottom line, happy with my purchase.

    I don’t usually write bad reviews, but this coffee maker is junk. I won’t buy Black & Decker again. What I don’t like about it: you have to keep turning the filter around and around before it drops into its slot. Every time I fill the water part, I make 12 cups. I’m very careful about filling water for just under the 12. It still goes over and then I have coffee spilling on my counter. Unfortunately, I did not save the box, so I’m going to see if someone in my building wants it and I’m going to buy a Mr. Coffee machine.

    Well. I havent had an electric coffee maker in some time – but wanted to try something new, after being French Press for a number of years. I had an inkling that you get what you pay for, and I was right. These very cheap, made in China disposable coffee makers are awful.

    CONS
    First of all – it is “programmable,” but it doesn’t work, no matter how I try….it never makes coffee when set. So take that right off the table.

    Second – the plastic this is made from scares me, it is so thin and cheap, and running hot water through it makes me nervous. the thin, soft plastic it is made from scratches easily.

    PROS
    It is easy to clean. It keeps the made coffee hot. And it boils fast.

    I will be purchasing a more expensive, better made coffee maker soon.

    I’ve had a lot of coffee makers over the years. The cheaper they are the longer they seem to last. The last time I bought a coffee maker I bought a Black and Decker and it lasted for about 8 years. I was very happy with it so I bought this one. Imagine my surprise to find that not only did my carafe from the other coffee maker work in this one but they improved it too. The old one had a very small area to pour the water in but this one is much bigger and I can now pour in the water while the basket is already in the coffee maker. Granted, I can’t guarantee that your carafe will fit this one but Black And Decker currently offers a replacement pot with 3 different lids for compatibility. — Search for GC3100B Black and Decker.

    For the price this is a nicer basic drip coffee maker. The clock is easy to set and program also. I have not used the cleaning feature yet but it is a nice option to have on a machine at this price.

    My only complaint is not the machine, but coffeemakers.us.com. They promised next day delivery but it ended up taking four days! The only reason I made the purchase from coffeemakers.us.com was to get it the next day, otherwise I would have made a special trip to a local store to get any basic coffee maker. I don’t know why but this disappointment has really cranked me off! You go a week without fresh coffee and you’ll get cranked off over little things like this also.

    Great basic coffeemaker. I love everything about it, most of all the hard buttons (as opposed to vinyl covered touch pads) on the control panel. Bright red LCD clock and button functions are about the only thing in my home I can read without putting my reading glasses on. Simple setup and programming. Very large reservoir opening makes it easy to pour in the water. No drip carafe with a snap off lid for easy washing. And it looks nice on my counter. At this price, I may buy another one to have when this one eventually kicks the bucket!

    Have always loved black and Decker. Great warranty, they really back their products. And they usually last and stayed good looking. But this one disappointed a bit. The clean button doesn’t work. When you turn it on it shows cleaning. No problem I just cleaned the old fashioned way and don’t let the cleaning led bother me. But my biggest complaint is the tiny power light to see it is on. It is so small I have to turn my kitchen light off to make sure it is off before making another pot.kitchen light off in 3rd pic and can barely see it is on

    Straight out of the box this coffee pot had issues. The pause and serve trigger that opens the plug on the basket to let the coffee flow into the carafe was busted and we had a total mess of grounds and coffee that backed up into the water reservoir since there was no where else for it to go. Since then we have had to put a rubber band around the trigger so at least it will make coffee without a giant mess…until I can get to wal-mart to buy a new coffee pot.

    The coffee maker itself seems good. I like the simple design. The biggest flaw in this coffee pot is that it will easily overflow with coffee grounds in the pot because of a poor design that opens the drain when you place the coffee pot on the base ( it would not allow the drain to open) There’s an arm at the back of the coffee pot which pivots to allow the valve to open and the coffee to drain. The angle on this was insufficient so I had to pull it off, heat it up until the plastic was soft enough to bend, then I bent it so that the drain valve would actually open when putting the coffee pot in the base. After making this change, I’m very happy with the coffee pot.

    After just a few months it started leaking from the bottom everytime we would make a pot of coffee. Ended up opening the bottom dispite the use of screws with a “Y” head. Had to use a tiny flat head screwdriver to take them out. Upon opening it was aparant what the problem was. One of the flexible tubes had deteriorated and cracked (see the picture). This is not something that should happen after such a short amount of time. I guess I can replace the 4 inch tube for about $10 for a 10 foot piece here on coffeemakers.us.com.
