   I think this is a great coffee maker. I have had zero issues with it. It makes a good cup of Joe. It is significantly better than the single serve coffee makers (K) I have had and better than the $50 drip makers (Cuisin) too. Three times better, I don’t know, but significantly better. Update:12/12/18 The more I use the coffeemaker the more I like it. As per directions this coffeemaker needs a coarse grind of coffee beans because of the rapid coffee making process allowing for proper “pour over” type brew. I pull out both the carafe and the basket and put them on the counter for thirty seconds to a minute after the final signal goes off to fully drain the basket with grounds. A “pause and serve” option would ruin a coffeemaker of this type in my opinion as the ending result would taste unbalanced which is not Bonivita’s goal. This coffeemaker brews a whole pot in about 6 minutes (probably less than half the time of a traditional drip maker Bunn excluded of course). I am coming to the conclusion that it is 3x better and if it lasts 8 months – one year, I will purchase another. 4/22/19 Update: As I sit here enjoying my cup of coffee, I feel compelled to say that I really enjoy this coffeemaker. I wish all of my coffeemakers.us.com purchases turned out this well. I went out on limb to spend this much on a coffeemaker but do not regret spending the money on it. I hope all of your purchases turn out as well. To the people with overflows, read the instructions and use the the coarser grind and you will not have such problems. Don’t blast your problems in your review due to lack of your ability to follow instructions. As my former boss used to say RTFM. Have a good one folks.

   Bought this on a recommendation from a friend and happy that I did. It took 11 days to get to Edmonton and when I opened it I discovered that the cheaper 1900 model arrived instead of the 1901 that reviews recommended because the basket would tip and make a mess. We decided to test it before we returned it and found that removing the pot with the basket was easy if you removed it over the sink and removed the grounds later. I received the refund for the price difference in only 2 days along with an apology. I believe the the cheaper 1900 with the basket on top might deliver warmer coffee just be careful sliding it out and warm the pot first with hot tap water for better tasting coffee that stays warm longer. Small footprint, low height and one button a plus but the water resivor could use larger cup markings and on both sides. A black ink marker solved that deficiency for consistent results and the best coffee flavour and strength.

I like the simple design with one push button on/off design. This all being said after the hefty price tag I feel the lid design and leaky pour should definitely NOT be happening. I have had other pricey models with heated reservoir and 6 minute drip. The Bonavita makes a perfect cuppa in 7mins and without a bitter taste, this model fits under the cabinet.    I love coffee so much that I roast it at home but due to some changing circumstances, I just don’t always have time to make a pour-over and I thought this coffee maker would give me good consistent results. I used to use a grind and brew that made ok coffee by Cuisinart but it lasted a solid 7 years of intermittent use. It was becoming buggy so time to replace it. I was not wrong. This coffee maker makes great coffee. Consistently. Huge props to Bonavita too for standing behind their products! If you are taking the time to read these reviews, you know this is a great coffee maker. Gold cup and all that stuff is legitimate. Bonavita has been around for a long time, and it is a well known brand in coffee circles. So why only 3 stars? The coffee carafe is awful. If you want to pour without the lid, it will spill. Fine, I will screw on the lid. The worst part, however, was that after less than 6 months, the internal seal started leaking into the vacuum cavity. I filled out the warranty form on the Bonavita website, received a response within a week, and a new thermal carafe shortly after. Awesome! Right around the same time, the coffee maker stopped its cycle half-way. It would complete it after I restarted it. I read some of the reviews stating the same before buying it but quickly dismissed them thinking it was user error. I thought everyone that was complaining about the coffee maker stopping half way were experiencing this issue because they were not descaling. Descale, descale, descale. Got it. When I started experiencing the same issue, I started worrying because I descale religiously. Another warranty form fill, another quick response, and a replacement unit shortly after. Great! What isn’t great is that I don’t know how long this will last and getting a new coffee maker through a warranty form seems like this is not what I was hoping it is. I took the coffee maker apart and didn’t see anything too worrisome with the exception of one thing. Although I’m not a huge fan of the plastic at the bottom of the heating element, that’s not it. I didn’t see any rust or anything leading to believe there was a leak somewhere either. What is worrisome is that the control board was overheating in some areas. I can only guess that the temperature might have fried the relay. Nothing else looks “bad” per se. I am hoping this is just a QC issue and won’t have to fill out another warranty form.

   This coffeemaker makes excellent coffee. That water gets hot quickly, the showerhead works well. The bloom feature is nice and really makes a difference. The carafe keeps the coffee warm long enough for me to leisurely drink it all. The main issue I have with it is that the carafe leaks. Not from the spout, but from the joint where the two materials meet even if the spout is not open. You can see it in the picture. It is pretty annoying because I need a paper towel around always. I am going to try to see about getting a replacement via warranty, I hope it is just a defect in my product.

   While this coffee maker does produce a smooth tasting cup of coffee, the quality of the parts is not on par with the price. After just a few months of use the plastic parts on the carafe have started peeling. (I’ve only hand washed it with dish soap and a dishcloth.) Overall, I’m happy with the ease of use and the taste of the coffee it produces, but I am disappointed that for the price it is already showing signs of wear.

    This coffee maker was touted as making a superb cup at a precise temperature. It seems just average to me. I like a carafe rather than a hot plate, and this one keeps the coffee plenty warm. So VG in that dept. But the design is lacking. The original model had a poorly designed basket that sat on top of the carafe. The newer model has a hanging basket that solves this. BUT once the lid is on the carafe, you cannot leave the basket in place. Another poor design choice. Also, seems to me the brew time is way too fast. I will start using a basket plus a paper filter to slow this down. The brewer also calls for almost a third more coffee than I am used to. Perhaps slowing the brew-time will help. Now that I have it, I won’t kick up a fuss, but this is a $60 coffee maker. I paid too much. OKAY A MONTH LATER- I’m happy with it. Still the design issues are a pain in the arse. I’ve reduced the amount of coffee needed and it tastes fine. This coffee maker is better than the Cuisanarts and the Mr. Coffees of the world. I do like it, but I still feel I paid too much.

    Currently awaiting a warranty claim for this unit. I noticed the grounds were not saturated evenly and the flavor of the coffee was not as good as when I first got the unit, after about 1 month of having it. I noticed water only coming from 2-4 spouts, I ran 2 packets of descaler through the unit with no improvement. Bonavita was quick to reply to my email and I processed the warranty, currently waiting for my new unit. The unit worked well prior to this malfunction, great flavor and easy to use. I will be purchasing the larger glass carafe from Bonavita when it is available again, not a fan of the metal thermal carafe due to design.

    I don’t normally post reviews but for when I am really impressed with a product. This coffee maker is simple to use and just makes straight coffee at home in a carafe that is like a thermos. It keeps it hot but you are able to touch the carafe and place it on the table as it stays cool on the outside. Follow the instructions as a baseline for 5 oz. of water per cup to 2 Tablespoons of regular ground coffee. You simply press one button and in 6 minutes, you have hot coffee that isn’t watered won. I am an average coffee drinker. I have a cup every morning. I resorted to buying coffee every day after having tried multiple coffee makers made by the popular brands over the years like Krups, Mr Coffee, Keurig, etc. I have always been disappointed personally as I felt that the coffee seemed watered down. I decided to research on coffeemakers.us.com trying to identify the top 2-3 coffee makers with a high number of reviews and with 3+ rating. I read through the reviews and settled on this one and I am not disappointed. This model does not have an automatic timer and no built-in grinder but I am ok with that and was not expecting those features with this model. I am happy that I got what this product advertised which is just a simple coffee maker with one button. Fill the water, put the coffee in the filter, press the button and In 6 minutes you get coffee in a carafe. I posted two simple photos as I find that the reviews with real photos I think seem like they are real people posting and better verification that a real consumer posted the review.

    This is a fine coffee machine. It’s easy to get using straight out of the box with clear instructions for utilizing the one function option. This option is for a “blooming” of the coffee grounds to eliminate built up CO2 than can affect flavor. Turning this option on involves simply holding the ON switch for a few seconds. I like the machine’s simplicity and the double-walled carafe will keep coffee warm for a long time (although if you’re going to want it to stay warm for more than an hour, I recommend heating the inside by running 2 cups of water through the machine before brewing or filling the carafe with hot tap water for a minute or two). My biggest complaint is that the one thing that’s supposed to make this machine so great is its “showerhead” sprinkler system. It’s designed with an array of holes, but from what I can see, in mine, only two of the holes seem to work. The flavor of the coffee is fine, but I’m not sure it provides the same depth or balance as pour-over. Possibly this is because the sprinkler system isn’t working properly. I’d have given 4/5 stars for design, ease of use, and performance but took off one star because it doesn’t function as advertised. Awaiting response from Bonavita. Picture 1 – Brewing. You can clearly see the sprinkler system and the fact that only two holes are working. Picture 2 – Post brew picture of grounds. Clearly water was mostly coming from center hole and grounds along the outer edge of the filter are not as saturated. Two small dry spots visible at about the 2:00 and 3:00 positions from center. Video 1 – Brew cycle. 4 cups of water yields a brew time of just over 5 minutes. The point of posting a full brew cycle video is to illustrate that most of the sprinkler system isn’t working. Updated April 20, 2020…. Customer service was easy enough to deal with. Contacted them online and submitted the same pictures and video I posted here. After being asked to fill out an online form which they linked me to via email, I was informed that they were sending me a brand new machine. It has arrived and while not all of the holes in their “shower head” design are active at all times, it seems to be working MUCH more effectively than the original. I have increased my rating to 4-stars. If the machine continues to function well for a month or so I may come back and increase the review to 5-stars. Not every item can be prefect but when your customer service is good and easy to work with, I’ll come back to your company.

    I used to have another coffee maker for years. I though thought it did what it was supposed to do and coffee was coffee. When I would go to measure out the coffee for the morning brew, I would just eyeball it and make coffee. Coffee was coffee, right? A few weeks ago the coffee maker I didn’t think much about because it did its job decided to stop working. It could have been sabotaged by my girlfriend who “cleaned” it, but dead none the less. Like with any appliance or object that needs to be replaced, I over-analyzed it and started looking into different coffee makers. I wanted a good one because I drink coffee every day and to me, it’s worth the investment to find something that makes great coffee and has received favorable reviews. In my research of a day or so, I discovered there was this organization called the Specialty Coffee Association. They have criteria on what it takes to make a great cup of coffee. Those criteria are then used to review coffee makers. Bonavita Connoisseur (BV1901TS) meets that criteria and it shows up in the quality of the coffee. It’s a great simple coffee maker that makes great coffee. I followed the instructions and measured out my coffee of freshly ground coffee. Basically, it’s 2 tbsp of coffee per cup. If you have 8 cups, you need 16 tbsp or 1 even cup of ground coffee. Also used filtered water because the coffee really is the sum of all the ingredients and you can’t cut corners on water. I did hold down the button for the power to turn on Pre-Infusion. The results leave you with a really clean, flavorful cup of coffee where I immediately tasted a huge difference. There was no bitterness. Another thing I make sure of, that it wasn’t heating the coffee after it was done and instead it put the contents into a thermal carafe. This makes a huge difference if you’re coming back to the pot for more coffee. It keeps the coffee pretty warm for a long while and allows you to have the same quality coffee you did when you made it. I’ve had experiences with my other coffee maker where subsequent cups tasted horribly after being cooked on a burner. The thermal carafe was something I didn’t know I needed until I tried it. So what’s the purpose of the review? Are you apprehensive about buying a coffee maker at $150 bucks and not sure about that type of investment? I think you can rest assured that this is a solid purchase as it makes a cup of coffee at a high level if all your looking for is a simple coffee maker. It doesn’t have all the extra bells and whistles another coffee maker could possibly have. For me, I didn’t need my coffee maker on my Wi-Fi or be able to do multiple jobs to earn its place in my kitchen. I just needed it to do its job at a high level and it does that. If that is also your criteria for a coffee maker, rest assured. I will say the only downside I can think of is the amount of coffee it makes. It would have been nice if it was on the 10 cup side instead of just 8. I hope you find the cup of coffee you’re looking for.

    This coffee maker makes great coffee! Like others have said, the carafe does not keep the coffee hot very long because the lid is thin and has no insulation. I always prewarm the carafe then decant it into a Zojirushi stainless carafe to keep warm. Another issue with the hanging basket is that the open carafe of coffee will cool off during the brew cycle. I solved this by drilling a hole into a large Ball jar lid and dropping it into the opening. It works great!. I know I shouldn’t have to add this but the coffee is so good, it’s worth it. Bonavita should think to add a lid if they stay with this design.

    While this is a good coffee maker, the carafe leaves much to be desired. This unit has a one year warranty and after 2 years of use and no abuse the carafes plastic has split on its own and the company will not replace it because it’s past the one year warranty. Maybe it’s just me but when I pay near $200 for a device I do expect the materials to last longer than 2 years. Other than this crack I have no other issues and it works well.

    Purchased the BV1901TS on December 17, 2018, for $129.49. On, or about, August 28, 2019 it suffered a catastrophic failure. Upon plugging in the unit, I heard a brief, unusual, “buzzing sound” coming from inside the unit. Upon depressing the switch, I heard the buzzing sound again and the unit smelled hot. I stood with the unit and noticed that it was not heating water. The unit was unplugged and Bonavita was contacted via their website’s warranty section, describing the issue and answering their detailed questions. On September 13, 2019, I finally heard from Bonavita (via email) and they stated that they would be sending a new unit to me. On September 17, 2019, I received word from FedEx that my shipment was on it’s way from “Espresso Supply” in Woodinville Washington. On September 24, 2019, I finally got a replacement unit. Upon inspecting the old unit, I discovered that all of the interior screw heads (heating unit, circuit board, wire retainer, etc) were rusted severely. The metal water supply tube was showing signs of rust. The tension clips, that secured the water lines, were also completely rusted. The connection, between the heater wire and the heater, was burnt to the point of disintegrating the female connector when touched. The male connector (blade) had residual metal stuck to it and a corner of the blade burnt off. This unit had never been even close to being submerged in water as it had only been hand cleaned. It also was descaled, according to the manufacturer’s recommendations, on a regular basis. When brewing coffee, the unit was pulled out from under the overhanging cabinet, so as to have ample air flow for the steam coming through the top to escape, and it was allowed to cool before placing back under the cabinet. Having never purchased a coffee maker of this price, and theoretical value, we went to great lengths to maintain it. This unit had worked flawlessly, from the time we first received it, until it failed. However, looking inside, there is an obvious issue with internal moisture, around the circuit board and heating unit, as well as very low quality internal parts being used in this unit’s construction. This is a definite safety/quality issue, and fire hazard, that needs to be addressed by the manufacturer.

    I bought this coffee maker for about $105 in December 2019 after doing a lot of online research. I have been happy with the taste of the coffee it made but after a couple of years it started to stop during the brewing cycle. When that occurred I was always able to get it going again by running multiple cleaning cycles. (I never understood why all the cleanings were needed since we do not have hard water and always use filtered water for brewing.) Today, however, it stopped mid-cycle and also had the dreaded burnt electrical smell indicating something major had failed. When I took it apart I found that one of the power wires had burnt up where it connects to the circuit board and partially melted a relay on the board. I have not been able to find the circuit board anywhere online to purchase so I will be tossing the entire coffee maker into the trash – what a waste! I don’t think that I will be buying another one at the current price!

    I initially planned on purchasing the Bonavita 1900TS based on all of the glowing reviews of the quality of the coffee. I went with this model because it claimed to solve some of the complaints with the carafe on the 1900TS. I can’t imagine it being any worse than this. First of all, there have been ‘brew through’ thermal carafes for what, 20 years? Maybe more? For some reason Bonavita decided not to go that route with this model. You’re forced to remove the lid to brew and deal with it through the entire process. Second of all, there have been pause-to-pour style filter-baskets with the spring-loaded stopper for at least as long. Nope, not with this puppy. You get a flimsy basket with a hole in the bottom that drips indefinitely. This wouldn’t be a problem if you could leave the carafe under it, buuuuuuut Third of all, there isn’t enough room to store the thermal carafe under the filter basket with the lid on. So if you want to avoid a puddle in the base of your coffee maker, you just run commando and leave the lid in a drawer. Which is all well and good, but good luck hitting your mug when you try to pour your coffee…it dribbles all over the place. There are some minor quibbles about the volume of steam coming from it during the brew not being the best for your cupboards and the ‘end of brew’ beep being way too early to actually pull the carafe. But the main final point I want to make is that the whole thing just has a very cheap and flimsy feel to it. From the handle of the carafe to the whole filter basket to the floppy top cover of the machine, you get no sense of mechanical quality or longevity from it. I get that mechanical design is difficult, but when there is so much fail in one place, particularly for something that’s supposed to be a revision to a product, it’s hard to believe anyone actually used it before slapping a label on the thing and calling it good.     I love coffee so much that I roast it at home but due to some changing circumstances, I just don’t always have time to make a pour-over and I thought this coffee maker would give me good consistent results. Bonavita has been around for a long time, and it is a well known brand in coffee circles. So why only 3 stars? The coffee carafe is awful. If you want to pour without the lid, it will spill. Fine, I will screw on the lid. The worst part, however, was that after less than 6 months, the internal seal started leaking into the vacuum cavity. I filled out the warranty form on the Bonavita website, received a response within a week, and a new thermal carafe shortly after. Awesome! Right around the same time, the coffee maker stopped its cycle half-way. It would complete it after I restarted it. I read some of the reviews stating the same before buying it but quickly dismissed them thinking it was user error. I thought everyone that was complaining about the coffee maker stopping half way were experiencing this issue because they were not descaling. Descale, descale, descale. Got it. When I started experiencing the same issue, I started worrying because I descale religiously. Another warranty form fill, another quick response, and a replacement unit shortly after. Great! What isn’t great is that I don’t know how long this will last and getting a new coffee maker through a warranty form seems like this is not what I was hoping it is. I took the coffee maker apart and didn’t see anything too worrisome with the exception of one thing. Although I’m not a huge fan of the plastic at the bottom of the heating element, that’s not it. I didn’t see any rust or anything leading to believe there was a leak somewhere either. What is worrisome is that the control board was overheating in some areas. I can only guess that the temperature might have fried the relay. Nothing else looks “bad” per se. I am hoping this is just a QC issue and won’t have to fill out another warranty form.

    I bought this coffee pot because of the reviews on America’s Test Kitchen. They rated it as a number one coffee pot. Although, a bit pricey we wanted the best coffee. The lid started to leak and needed to be snugged, so it wouldn’t leak when the coffee was poured. The mechanism you push to have the coffee pour has since broke. The replacement lid is $15 and with supply chain issues the company has said we cannot get them right now. Understandable. On their website they say they are not responsible for repairing or replacing products purchased before October 15, 2021. We bought ours in September 2021. It seems like a lot of money for some thing that broke too soon. A review of the coffee maker, the carafe only holds 8 cups, not the typical 12. We knew this but really wanted the best coffee pot. We wish it held 12 cups. The carafe doesn’t seem to keep the coffee as hot as you would think it should. There is no timer on it and it took some getting used to, but it only takes five minutes to brew a pot. If you want it to stay hot you need to put the cover on as soon as it’s done brewing. All in all the coffee is great and but having a broken lid without being able to get replacement parts is a bummer. Per their website it says that the brand has recently undergone a business restructuring which has resulted in new management of Bonavita brand product distribution. Apparently the prior distributor is no longer supporting the products it’s sold. It’s not necessarily the companies fault and it’s a crazy time to get anything these days. They do say they will try to work with you and possibly get you a replacement. They are trying.

    After about 1 month of daily use, I really like this coffee maker. The coffee is brewed hot, so it stays hot in the carafe for a couple of hours. I purchased this coffee maker from coffeemakers.us.com Warehouse (was I assume a return). There was a metalic scorch smell the first couple of days. I chalked it up as a breaking in period. After about 5 to 10 pots of coffee that was gone. My only beef is the design. While you brew your coffee with the carafe perfectly under the hanging basket, after brewing you screw on the lid. Will no longer fit under the hanging basket. I completely understand why. I think the quality of the brewed coffee makes up for that minor flaw. (After almost 2 years, I still love this coffee maker. That being said, the lid to the carafe has broken twice. About nine months after daily use, the plastic pin snapped inside the lid. It was still usable but not a good seal as steam and heat seeped out. I purchased a replacement lid. All was back to normal until the same thing happened. Now on lid number three. It still makes great/hot coffee. The lid thing is my only beef.

    Used twice so far. Upgraded from a $13.99 Mr. Coffee switch on switch off. I got used to opening the top of my Mr coffee and putting the coffee in the filter as it was seated in the basket housing. With the bonavita, I can’t do that. The filter basket is on the counter as I’m filling it and it doesn’t even sit flat. My second time putting coffee in, I bumped it and dumped the whole basket of ground beans on the floor. First time I used this, I don’t really know what happened but when I went to get a cup of coffee, the pot and filter had overflowed all over, huge mess. The coffee tastes good and I like the carafe but it doesn’t keep the coffee super hot like I like it. I like the bloom function. Not sure this bonavita is worth the money. I will try to be less clumsy with it and see how it goes.

    We bought this to replace an old mr. Coffee machine that broke. We decided to buy something a bit more expensive and would be more flavourful. After a lot of research and review reading, we settled on this one. While it’s not as strong as a true pour over, it’s quite delicious. We are not coffee snobs, but do enjoy a great tasting cup of coffee. For us it’s great, and brews fast for when we are on the go. It also pours water evenly over the whole filter, which is great! It is easy to clean and minimal mess! I high recommend this coffee maker if you really love coffee, are not a total coffee snob and just want something delicious and simple!

    Pro: This coffee maker has an attractive sleek design (only 1 button) and it has a relatively low profile: 12.5″ high. This was a consideration for me because I need to put it underneath cabinets that are 18.5″ above the countertop. There is just enough room to be able to open the hinged top of the water tank all the way and pour water from a 1-quart measuring cup. (See the picture.) Most other similar coffee makers are 14-15″ tall, which is too much for my space. It looks nice next to other brushed stainless countertop items as in the picture. Con: I bought the same coffee maker before and it stopped working after 15 months due to a burned-out power wire connection inside. I’ve seen a few other people report the same problem, although I’m willing to take another chance. If you want to remove the bottom panel, to get access to the inner workings, you can use a very small ordinary (slot) screwdriver to remove the funny screws with triangular holes.

    It’s just eh… there are more cons than there are pros. CONS: 1)There is no plate warmer and the Kraft does nothing to keep the heat in so while the coffee is brewed at the perfect temperature, you pretty much only get that if you drink it the second it’s brewed, no second cup for you or refills to warm it up. 2)Already mentioned, the kraft or pot does not keep the heat it, but in addition, it’s bulky and when you are brewing there is no where to put the lid. 3)Which brings me to my next point, storage. When you are brewing, there is no where to put the lid. If you want to store the Kraft with the lid on it, you have to find somewhere else to store the basket. When storing the coffee maker itself, be aware it lets off a good deal of steam, so you’ll need some room above it. 4)There is one button… you push start and it’s your only option. They say there is another option if you hold it down? It’s confusing. It’s one button. That’s all you get. 5) You have to fill the tank with water every time you use it. For example… It holds 8 cups, but if you want 4 cups, you can’t load it with 8 cups of water and be good for 2 days by pushing a “4 cup brew setting”. PROS: 1) It does make the best cup of coffee I’ve ever had lol. In summary, the coffee it brews is noticeably better. Night and day when you compare the same brand of coffee brewed with this coffee maker and others (I had a Mr. Coffee & French Press). You will find yourself using considerably less sugar and cream, trust me. However, the cons will grow old very quick and you will yourself back on coffeemakers.us.com… like me… searching for a new coffee maker in a months time.

    It brews good tasting and hot coffee. It is easy to use, simple, easily fits under the cupboards, and it occupies minimal counter space. The water tank is easy to use, read, and it suggests how many grams of coffee to use for the cups listed on the water reservoir. The “design oddities” are minor and reduce my rating by one star. 1. The basket works best with TALL flat bottom filters. Very minor issue, but that should be made known in the description. 2. Storing the unit is a bit awkward. The carafe with the lid in place is too tall to find under the basket when it is inserted into the holder. When I store the unit under the cupboard, I place the carafe into place with the lid on the carafe, but then I must store the basket on top of the machine. It does not affect the quality of the coffee, but spacing the basket another 1/2″ higher from the carafe would solve this design oddity. Suggestion – Pre-Heat the Carafe: As with all stainless steel carafes, pre-warming the carafe greatly helps with keeping the coffee remain hot for a longer time. It is worthwhile to swirl hot water in the carafe, or fill it with hot water, then empty the carafe before brewing. I’ll update if I come across any flaws or issues.

    Update March 29.2023: I was able to contact the seller directly and had immediate response. They are sending out a new lid! I did have to complete a form and include model#, model date (located on the bottom of unit), original receipt, purchased from and include photos. I am extremely impressed with how this was handled and response time. Customer service was spot on! I would definitely recommend this unit. March 29.2023: I purchased this as a house warming gift. Great simple coffee maker with a hot pot of fresh brew within 7mins! Simple minimal design with a couple flaws. 1) make sure to pour over the sink this does leak. 2) the lid push lever broke after 6 months. Would I recommend this product…Yes, several reasons. It makes a fresh brew (no bitters) within 7mins. I have read comments regarding flavor of coffee I suspect they are not using fresh (whole bean) grind at home. I like the carafe. I like the simple design with one push button on/off design. This all being said after the hefty price tag I feel the lid design and leaky pour should definitely NOT be happening. I have had other pricey models with heated reservoir and 6 minute drip. The Bonavita makes a perfect cuppa in 7mins and without a bitter taste, this model fits under the cabinet. Good looking sleek design, and great customer service.
