This French press is cute but not as practical as I would have hoped. The handle and top knob are made out of wood so that might be a problem long term. The lid really slides around lot when you try to press the coffee, I’m always afraid that its going to break when I’ve used it. Using the press is the same as most presses you push down and then close the mesh with a turn of the knob so you can put the coffee out. It is bit of a production to get this clean, I think I’ll go back to my drip coffee.

This is a great french press. It’s very well made and durable. The stoneware is not too heavy, but does have a nice weight to it. It is very easy to use and produces great coffee and keeps the grounds out of the coffee. It’s fairly easy to clean. Overall, I love the look of this and it works great!

I have several French Presses made of glass and one that’s stainless steel, this is my first ceramic press.
It’s quite heavy and thick wall, the plunger handle and the side handle are wood. The unit needs to be hand washed only. It has a rubber gasket on the underside of the lid to hold it in place when you pour.
It’s a lovely festive design, especially for the holidays with wide red bold stripes. Perfect for loose leaf teas, coffee or straining broths.
Bonjour also has another ceramic french press style in matte white and aqua. I am very pleased with press.

Well, I really wanted to like this but unfortunately returned it.
Ceramic seems like a good material, inert to the acidity of coffee making it preferable to stainless steel (nickel and chromium leaching) and also more durable than glass French press. I can also comment that this French press feels solidly made.
However, the major issue is that the steel mesh filter leaves marks on the inside of the ceramic. I don’t want to be drinking stainless steel every time I make coffee. Additionally not sure exactly what the gasket for the lid is made of. Is it silicone? Would be nice if it were natural rubber instead.
Either way, not a fan of the stainless steel filter leaving marks. Returned!

I read some bad reviews, so I wasn’t sure what to expect but I’m very happy with it.
The “close” function doesn’t refer to the lid, but to the strainer itself which actually has a mechanism you can close once it’s pushed down. Pretty neat! So you want to make sure that it’s OPEN when you actually push it down!
There were also several people who complained about an awful noise when you pull the strainer back up and that’s not the case with mine. Not sure if they made improvements since then, but there is no noise.
I love it and would buy it again!
