   We have continually purchased Cuisinart coffee makers, but after a while, the steam discharge at the top would clog up. So, this time we tried the Braun. What a difference. As you can see in the picture, Braun’s design people got it right. They recessed where the coffee basket sits. This extra inch prevents coffee splatter from getting into the discharge tube and clogging up the system. Overall, a great product you can count on. Only issue – the clock is a bit hard to read for us old farts.

   The display for the clock and brew settings does not have a light. It is very hard to see unless you have lots of light. I like to easily see the time but it does not show up. I wish the description would have said something since they do have a model that lights up KF7150.

   Received this coffee maker on Jan 3rd, makes good coffee but the carafe glass is very thin. A few days ago I noticed that the carafe was cracked, not sure if it was the heat, only rinsed out the pot, never actually washed.

   Please see the pictures for the temperature of the brewed coffee. The 12 cup brewed at 183° and the four cup at 181° far below optimum temperature for brewing great coffee. To put water and coffee into the pot you must slide it forward because the water well isn’t removable and the lid on top of the pot is too tall for opening under the cupboard. The scoop for coffee is a small little thing. If you want to make 12 cups you’ve got to count out 12 scoops. This could have been remedied by adding a bigger scoop on the other end of the little scoop. Incidentally, that little scoop could easily measure coffee for a mug or travel mug but those aren’t marked on the carafe. Not for us…we sent it back. My apologies for the sidewise photos. They are not sidewise on my phone but load that way into the review.

   For 100$ spend it elsewhere. We had this for less than 2 months and it over flows just about every other time. We have spent so much time cleaning the machine, wasting coffee and having frustrations with this product. Thank goodness coffeemakers.us.com is offering a return due to this malfunction and issue because it clearly is a waste.

   Very nice looking Coffee maker..was a little skepical due to all the reviewers who got the coffee maker for ‘free’ but went ahead and took a chance.. i am one who likes the fact it doesnt have a bright clock considering i have two other super bright clocks in my kitchen, didnt need more. I was also happy that it doent have a built in alarm for notifying when the coffee is ready, an extra noise i dont need, lol. The only reason i took a star off is due to the fact that the coffee isnt as hot as i like when brewed, so i still have to microwave if i want super hot coffee. This coffee maker will definitely fit under 14” cabinets exact..as thats all the room i had (attached photo) I do recommend the product despite the coffee not being super hot.

   We used this near daily and it worked great until last week (just passed the two year mark). I regularly descaled it and replaced the carbon filter every 3 months. Seems like the heating element burned out. Very disappointed.

   I’ve had this machine since 2019 and it still makes great tasting hot coffee and looks great. The only issue I have is in the design of the lid. All my kitchen counters have upper cabinets above them. I cannot open the lid of the coffee maker to add water, filter or coffee without moving the entire unit out from under the cabinets. This is a mild annoyance but was not an issue with my old (now defunct) coffee maker where the lid rotated open rather than lifting. That said, I would not hesitate to buy this again as it makes great coffee.

    I have found two things I don’t like. They have made a slight indentation to help you lift the lid to put in the coffee grounds and the water. It is poor and I usually end up using both hands to open the lid. I also don’t l8ke the mess getting rid of the grounds with the mesh filter. After dumping 8t out after use, you then have to reverse wash it to get out all of the grounds. Probably no different with and coffeemaker using a mesh filter. Everything else seems great. It brews very fast, about 10-15 minutes for the entire pot of 12 cups. The coffee is great and it is kept hot on the plate for hours.

    The actual brew is great. The problem is ease of use. 1. The digital clock is not backlit so it’s very difficult to set the time and autobrew. It is NOT easy to read and looks nothing like the clock shown in the ads (see image) 2. The autobrew setup is not very intuitive. You have to more or less guess which buttons to use to set the time. (if you can read it) 3. On my unit the clean cycle randomly turns on and will not turn off until it’s done with a clean cycle.

    Let’s get this out of the way: this unit does make a great cup of coffee. When it works. It has a critical design flaw. The plastic tab that retains the filter basket has broken off twice in the way depicted in a little over a year. I’m not replacing the basket a second time, the coffee maker is getting the heave-ho into the trash. Braun has also really fallen down on ease of use. 1. At this price point, I’d expect a backlight for the digital clock. As a result, the clock is very hard to read and program. 2. Water is measured by a stepped dipstick located inside the water chamber. The water level is very hard to see, particularly if the lighting in your kitchen is from a ceiling fixture that’s behind you and your head obscures the light. I’ve taken to keeping a flashlight on my kitchen counter. 3. You have to peer directly down into the water chamber to gauge the water level. This may prove a problem for some shorter users if the unit is on a standard-height kitchen counter that’s about 36″/1m off the floor. I’m 5’7″/170cm and I have to stand on tiptoe to look down into the water chamber. Really, Braun, would a sight glass or a clear plastic window have killed you? 4. The lid of the coffee maker gets in the way when you’re trying to pour water into it, and tilting the carafe to pour water slowly makes it very likely that you’ll spill water on the countertop. 5. Coffee maker has an annoyatron “clean” cycle that it demands far too often and runs for far too long, with no way to simply bypass the light. I’m revising my review and deducting a star. Braun has been known for industry-leading industrial design for decades. How did they get this so wrong? I’d been a happy user of Braun coffeemakers for decades, since the ’80s. The only reason I didn’t buy one the last time around, was that they didn’t have one with the features I wanted at a price point I was willing to pay. (Mostly, I just want a simple on/off switch; a clock/programming is nice but not needed.) When that other-brand unit needed replacing I bought this Braun after reading positive online reviews. I am disappointed.

    We have bought two of these Braun coffeemakers and they do a great job. Each of them only lasted 3 years 5 months and then died. I was hoping it would have lasted at least 4 years, but at this price maybe that was an unreasonable expectation. So at a $100 purchase price, it’ll cost you $2.50 a month to own this coffeemaker. That is still a pretty good deal.

    This is a great coffee maker only one drawback , after a little over a year the hot plate coating decided to fail . It started flaking off . If Braun can fix this problem I think they would have the world’s best affordable coffee maker

    Does everything other coffee makers do only better. The water fill is in steps inside the reservoir. Easy to read and or adjust. Keep the pot hot, set it for whatever it takes. Need to set for a time in the morning tomorrow. Got it. The coffee pot is easy to clean and pour without spilling. It brews faster than most. It’s a great value.

    This coffee maker is very simple to use. Makes about 5 large mugs worth of coffee and I really like that it allows you to set a timer for when you want it to start brewing the next morning (perfect for those groggy mornings and you have coffee ready to go!) After the coffee is brewed, it will keep it warm for 4 hours. Cleaning is very easy as well – simple lift the top lid and remove the cone with the coffee grounds and toss them out / rinse the cone. For the price, you really can’t go wrong with this one. We’re glad we picked it up.

    First of all I purchased a refurbished version of this coffee maker. My first concern was the water temperature which it never came close . Coffee brewing temperature should be between 195-205 degrees. The coffee makers it self is compact and well laid out. Easy to use. It just couldn’t produce a flavorful cup of coffee

    I did the work and read many reviews on many coffee makers of all systems and prices, so tempted to just get a cheap one but after reading reviews I went safer and got this Braun, I trusted the brand and I wasn’t wrong, great coffee maker, flavor, body and aroma of the coffee excellent, love the design, nice weight to it so is stable, the carafe doesn’t leak when serving, the convenient filter is great, the coffee comes out really hot and stayed hot for a while, the auto on program was easy to set and it started brewing right on time, best investment, very happy !!!

    It does make good coffee. We use a #4 unbleached paper filter in addition to the gold colored screen so there isn’t any residue in the carafe. The digital display is very hard to read and the programming for auto on is way harder than it should be and isn’t intuitive. I also wish it beeped when finished brewing like our old coffee maker.

    I just received my Braun KF7070 BrewSense Drip Glass Coffeemaker, 12 Cup, Stainless Steel this afternoon. I was looking forward to using it but was very surprised to find how dirty it was. There were fingerprints all over it and it looked like it had been used and returned after use. I ran a carafe of vinegar through the machine and it came out brown like coffee had already been brewed in it. I was also very disappointed there was no light behind the clock so it’s impossible to see unless you use a flashlight to read what it says. For the price they charge for this machine you would think there would be a lighted readout on the clock. I plan to keep the coffee maker but I would never recommend it to anyone I know and doubt I will ever buy another Braun product.

    I have had this unit since September & thus far, the unit backs up as shown in the photo after every 3-4 uses. I am only able to attempt to brew up to 10 cups max as the coffee pot can not handle anymore than that. And after it backs up like this, the cleaning process is lengthy as the entire unit has coffee grounds all throughout. I would never recommend this product, it is a waste of money & I regret purchasing it!
