   Hot and cold makes the pitcher crack after about a years worth of making the tea. I bought it for my brother and he loves it, but the bottom of the pitcher finally gave in. He uses a make shift pitcher now, because its not a heat plate, the tea maker still works great, just that type of plastic is always going to break sooner and later.

   This tea maker was sent to me by my daughter. My initial thought was it’s hideous looking. I’m not into the color at all. Then I pulled it out of the box and I’m worried about using it because the plastic is so thin. Very cheaply made. Worried it may melt if it gets hot. Honestly, I don’t have any intentions on using this product and I’m going to try to get her to return it. I’m not impressed by it at all.

   Unboxed it and immediately repackaged it. Smelt strong of paint/glue (not like a normal new product that’s scent goes away over time) Had some sort of weird brown burnt substance of the mouth of the pitcher. Top of the machine was scuffed and the front was covered with liquid marks and scratches. Looked used and didn’t feel comfortable using it as it has a hidden water heating chamber with the filth and strong scent.

    A year later, still loving it. This tea maker is in constant use so I’m glad it’s such a pretty blue because it’s always out on the counter. It brews nice, it doesn’t take too long, it doesn’t leak. It’s simple, pour water in, put the tea bags in the basket, close the lid, push the button. There’s no unnecessary steps or pieces. You can adjust the strength of the brew. I’m ordering a 2nd for work.

    I received this tea maker that was clearly used. The pitcher had water stains all over it right out of the box, the unit itself had what I can assume was tea stains although it really looked like mold. There was also some kind of white substance all over the cord. Clearly I returned but just wanted others thinking of ordering to be aware. Otherwise I think it would have worked well for what I was looking for but it did feel very very cheap. Not at all like the Mr. coffee brand one I’ve used for 20+ years.

    Pitcher is hard cheap plastic, one drop and it’ll probably crack. Do be sure to clean and wash the picture and lid before first use. There is a bit of manufacturing residue left behind. Instructions itself say to the tea maker without tea or coffee a couple of times to rid of it. After that, my 1st run of ice tea was delicious!

    I really like this tea maker because it replaced my teakettle also. You can make hot tea and cold tea. This is a superior tea maker to other ones you’ll see here because it has a knob to make the tea stronger. What the knob does is reduces the stream to a drip so the water steeps longer. I like really strong tea so I find putting a bunch of ice cubes and letting it drip over them like the instructions suggest too watered down. Here is my recipe for sweet lemon tea. I put half a cup of sugar into the picture and let it drip down hot. Then I add the juice of 2 small fresh lemons. I enjoy this tea hot and cold so when it’s done I enjoy some hot or use ice in my glass instead of watering down the whole pitcher. Putting this tea in the fridge makes the tea stronger also.

    I had the same product before. It was decent. It eventually warped and I decided to replace it. This one warped the water tank after just a few uses. Very disappointed. Wonder if it’s even safe for my health. Tried to get a refund, but the refund period is 1 months and this is 2-month old product, and there is no warranty on the product!! Next time, will buy a product with a decent warranty, lesson learned.

    I’m sure it is a nice tea maker. I am a bit upset because I ordered a NEW unit. However it appears to have been previosly used or a return. When unpacking item the styofoam appears dirty. and pitcher had tea residue in it Only negative is that all water does not empty out when it completes making tea

    This is a great tea maker with one major flaw, it’s very difficult to get any unused or additional water out of the machine. it has a lip around the top that stops water from coming out even when u turn it upside down, I dont want to store it with water inside between uses and its very difficult or impossible to get the water out by hand, so I had to drill a hole in the top rear to make it possible to drain the water (see photos) I would however recommend this machine it does a great job making tea and u can adjust the brew strength.

    Update February 2024 The blue one I had posted about lasted longer. The Black on I started using 6 months ago just gave out on me…. I thought this brand was reliable but they must have cheaper out on the motor/heating element. Died very similar to old one that lasted longer. Update March 2022. Have had this since September 2020. This has been a lifesaver! I use it almost daily. Has some wear but still works great! Filter tray gets a little clogged but a good scrubbing and my high pressure button on my faucet gets it flowing just fine. Have been using it every couple days since my family is avid tea drinkers. Much safer than boiling a big 2 galling stock pot. I don’t have to worry about boil over. Has worked great so far. Just wish it could hold more water in tank. I have to keep refilling tank before it gets low so I can get desired amount of tea. I don’t like having all that ice. My fridge doesn’t make ice fast enough to use as much ice as instructed.

    I fill the water to the fill line, but it has never uses all of the water. As you can see from the picture there is still a lot of tea that could be brewed. So I am making tea multiple times a day. I had another off brand very similar to this and I could fill it beyond the fill line almost filling the entire reservoir and it used all the water all the time. I would still be using it had the pitcher not broke.

    We needed to replace our Mr Coffee Iced Tea maker and the online reviews, not coffeemakers.us.com reviews, said that this specific product makes delicious iced tea. The coffeemakers.us.com reviews stated that the lid was not closing. To confirm, this does indeed make delicious green iced tea with filtered water from the grocery store. To confirm, this does indeed have a design flaw with the lid. I bought the unit new, it was new out of the box. I followed the instructions to prep the machine before the first use. After running the first cycle per the instructions the lid developed a warping issue which started causing the lid to have difficulty closing. I wasn’t sure if it was just the heat so I ran a batch of iced tea. I can confirm that based on the lid that there appears to be a design flaw with the plastic lid. It develops a warping problem and prevents the lid from closing. It is very important to keep this machine away from people and pets to prevent being burned by hot water. A recall would be safer.

    Lid leaks when you pour out your drink. Coffee grounds get splashed out and over the basket and down into the top of pitcher and in side. The water arm must be moved to replace basket and it isn’t the sturdiest i’ve seen so it will not last for long. The brewing lid is the ONLY LID that comes with it so that means there is a hole in the top exposing your drink! Mine is on its way back to coffeemakers.us.com

    I have wanted a tea maker for a long time. I finally decided to get one because I make a gallon of iced tea everyday. I looked at many and I decided to take a chance on this one because of price and the double filters. We love tea. Excuse the picture of the inside with my tea stained top filter. I just made a gallon before taking these pictures. I have had it since March 5, 2021. It was not expensive and works great still. You can choose the strength you desire. As you can see I have it on max. It makes half a gallon. I buy the one gallon Lipton tea bags, put it on max and add half a gallon of ice water to my gallon container (an upcycled, clean, plastic milk jug, because I’m fancy, lol). It is easy clean up, fast making and just super convenient. If you love tea, and thinking about getting one, than this is the one for you. It does come with a lid that I forget to put on before taking the pics.

    Makes great tea don’t get me wrong but after a little over a month and about 8-10 pitchers of tea the resettable limit switch, which is the power button failed. Part is PCC PBR 380. Ordered a new switch, very cheaply made I ordered an LG OEM limit with the correct rating. But the extended warranty it’s 6.99 versus a 17.00 quality replacement . Also make sure you have thermal compound for mounting of the new one

    I drink a lot of ice tea… I mean, a lot as I don’t drink soda, sport drinks, coffee. I make about 5 pitchers a week. I was using a Mr. Coffee tea maker for the past 15 years until the glass pitcher shattered out of the blue, so figured it was time to get a new tea maker. This tea maker is essentially the same, but there are a few things I like better about this one: 1) the pitcher is NOT glass, 2) the water reservoir is NOT enclosed, and 3) the pitcher does NOT sit on the counter. Now, granted, I did get 15 years out of the previous glass pitcher model, so it was durable; but I was always careful when adding ice not to break or chip it. My previous model had a closed water reservoir and when not running the drip sits over it, so it would inevitably drip remnants of tea into it; and I was not able to clean it. My previous model had the pitcher sitting on the counter and the pitcher would condensate water onto the counter, leaving a pool of water on the counter after an hour… and a ring if left longer and dries. This model does condensate some water, but not as much; and that water sits on the plate the pitcher sits on, not the counter.
