   We wanted a Bunn coffee maker specifically for the hot water tank, it just makes coffee so much faster. This is well built machine with no fancy bells or whistles, but it works well. The only switches/buttons you have are 1 for the hot plate (which we prefer over the carafe) and 1 switch for the hot water tank. We turn the hot water tank off when we are going to be away for an extended time. Also the price was great, a lot cheaper then anyone locally.

   Probably would not recommend if you don’t drink coffee daily as there is no point in keeping the water hot for that long, you will loose some to evaporation. If you are a pot (or 2) a day, you will definitely benefit from it.

   I am very disappointed. We had heard amazing reviews on bun coffee makers so we bought this one back in August. We have had it for 8 months and the plastic piece in the lid doesn’t work right anymore. So as soon as I poor the water in it brews right away. So we end up with cold coffee and we need to microwave. I am able to rig it so it doesn’t brew right away but it is a pain to deal with.

   Like everything about the coffee maker! But… On the base of the maker, front right side, there is a little button switch that indicates, by tiny blue light, if burner is on. However it is very difficult to see if light is on, unless you get up to it and bend down. Even if all the lights are off in the kitchen, the blue is not bright enough to be visible from 5 feet. So, we’ve burned a few pots overnight when there was just a little left in the pot. I guess we’re just stupid, but it is aggravating. Bunn,….. make the blue light brighter! But good coffeemaker. This is like my 4th Bunn. First one I’ve had a complaint about. Love the new dripless spout😍

   Our previous Bunn leaked after a few years. I have a drawer full of filters, so I bought this BUNN. Easy to get started, coffee tastes great. Slight plastic smell out of the box – to be expected coming from Mfg. Gone in 2 days. My only comment is on the opening of the glass carafe. The older carafes had straight sides and the new one is bowed inward I presume to help keep the coffee hot. But I’m a stickler for wiping away water spots. I have small hands so it’s easy for me to use a paper towel inside and wipe around inside. Not so for hubby.

   It was already used when it arrived. (We bought it as new) When we opened it, the lid was scratched and you can tell that it was already used. There was water and coffee residue and I thought that was disgusting. This is a bad experience for this brand. I didn’t expect this but maybe this wasn’t a manufacturer issue.

    I bought this for my husband who hates the Keurig previously purchased. I am so happy we made the switch. It makes deliciously hot coffee fast. It is immediate coffee. It is also lighter than I was expecting. I have never owned a Bunn, so I cannot comment how the weight has changed. The machine looks beautiful and is modern enough to fit in with our other appliances. It’s a coffee machine that only makes coffee. The reason I am deducting a star is for the smell. As others have stated there is a faint smell of burnt plastic. It is not strong but it should not be there.

    Here is my update on my original Bunn review…. Yes, the coffee is delicious, however this machine is SO LOUD when heating the water in the tank. It sounds like we are popping a bag of popcorn in the microwave…not exaggerating! I also started to notice a leak from the underside. Contacted BUNN and they replaced it. The replacement unit they sent had a broken warmer plate light (1st unit’s light worked great) and we burned our fingers twice because we didn’t realize the burner was still on. That’s dangerous. Again the unit was extremely loud. I contacted them again and included photos and an audio video of how loud the unit was. I have owned Bunn units for years and am familiar with how it should sound. They sent out a third coffee maker and wanted me to pay for shipping!! I respectfully declined and they relented and sent a shipping label. As I unboxed the third coffee maker, a strip of the plastic trim along the top edge was cracked and broken off. The unit makes delicious coffee and honestly, I’m kind of tire of dealing with them, so I am just keeping the unit as is. Bunn is a good coffee maker, however the company really needs to up its quality control. I hope they get their act together. I bought my first Bunn coffee maker over 40 years ago. Did some research, read reviews and decided to purchase another. Set up was quick and easy and this morning I brewed a delicious quick and hot pot of coffee. Streamlined and efficient, I’m very happy with it. Highly recommend and don’t pay attention to the reviews that say the hot plate light isn’t bright enough. As you can see in my photo, the on/off blue light is very noticeable. It should also be noted that in the reviews, those that complained about the set up or leaving the power on to keep the water warm, don’t understand this coffee maker works on a very different premise than any other coffee maker.

    I’ve been using similar Bunn’s for years, absolutely love it. But I fine that the normal temperature is between 185° to 190° not the 200° advertised, but that’s good enough for me. The perfect pot of coffee in minutes, what more can you ask for. I find that I have to replace the Bunn about every five years are so because for some reason it starts to leak water from the tank, nothing last forever. One thing that I dislike is the little blue light indicator (look at picture) that shows the hot plate is on. I’m so used to seeing that red light indicator from the older models. I found myself leaving the hotplate on many of times because of that little blue indicator light that’s hard to notice. But overall I am completely satisfied with my Bunn Coffee brewer. Btw—- I noticed in someone’s review that showed the coffee pot made a mess with coffee and Coffee ground. With the design of these coffee pots it’s impossible for it to overfill with water unless the hole at the bottom of the filter holder was clogged or the filter holder was that probably in its place. I’ll spend the money on a coffee pot to get a quick and perfect pot of coffee every time that will last at least 5 to 6 years. I bought one for my mom about eight years ago, she still uses the same one to this day.

    Though we have seen the brand in numerous occasions and know of its quality, this is the first BUNN coffee maker that we own. We have the great large ones at my office and the make great coffee, so I was pleased to have the chance to own one of these. PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE FIRST TIME USE INSTRUCTIONS! What I love about it: – VERY easy to use. Its a matter of pouring water in the cold water reservoir and closing, placing the carafe under the spout and closing the lid. – Incredible and efficient hot water system: The coffee maker basically constantly keep the water in the hot water tank at optimal brew temperature range. When the lid is opened for refill there is a gasket which shuts the cold water reservoir allowing you to put as much water as you would like to brew (anywhere from 20oz-50oz – 4-10 cups). As soon as you close the lid the cold water flows down the tank while pushing the hot water into the shower head over the coffee beans. GENIUS! – The carafe has a distinct beak that hangs over the edge of the pouring area, which keeps it completely drip free. Any remaining coffee that would in regular carafe drip on the table, is “magicaly” (gravity) sucked back into the carafe. (also genius) Things that I wish could be better: – There is a whole lot of plastic going on in this brewer. Basically the whole body (aside from a thin metal place on the back side of the carafe area. I know it reflects the price point, however it would be nice to see at least a Stainless Steel option at a bit higher price point. – The body gets a bit hot after a couple of hours. I do not leave it on all day long because it gets too hot after 5-6 hours – This is meant to be kept on all the time, however for those of us who chose to turn on t use it and then off after using it, I wish there was some indicator of when the water in the tank is ready to brew (the instructions state after 15 minutes, but It would be nice to double the use of the thermostat that keeps water from boiling to also indicate when optimal brew temperature has been reached. SUMMARY: we have had this for a week and used every single day in the morning and in the afternoon. We love making coffee in different ways (manual pour over, Italian style, cold brew, and even espresso) but this way is the fastest and requires the least amount of manual intervention. Great tasting coffee and warm for as long as needed. I would recommend this brewer even though I wish it was a bit more heavy duty.     I “upgraded” from my 2008 model Bunn for Christmas. I did not read the reviews prior. My purchase was based off my father’s recommendation. He loves this coffee maker. We excitedly set it up Christmas morning and brewed a fresh pot of coffee with no complaints. That night we noticed a burning smell and frantically searched the ENTIRE house looking for a fire. Was really disappointed that it turned out to be this coffee pot. It’s been four weeks now and we can still smell the burning plastic scent when close to the pot. It’s probably terrible for our health but I guess it could be worse, it’s not COVID. I already got rid of our old Bunn so there’s no going back. The smell does fade but it takes a long time. Aside from the pungent smell, no complaints.

    I bought this coffee maker because it was more affordable than commercial models and made by an American company. I love its brew style, which keeps the water hot but below boiling, unlike many other machines that overheat and boil the water. The coffee tastes great, and the speed is impressive—as soon as I pour the water, coffee starts coming out within 2–3 seconds. However, I did run into some quality control issues. When I first ordered, I received a box full of coffee filters instead of the machine. Since there was no option for customer support, I had to return it and reorder. The second time, I finally received the coffee maker, but it arrived with a small chip at the bottom and a misaligned clip on the top right. While these defects don’t affect functionality and are barely noticeable, I expected better quality from a U.S.-made product. Despite these issues, the performance is excellent, and I’d buy this coffee maker again—though next time, I might order directly from BUNN’s official website in hopes of better quality control.

    We have used Bunn for years and love them however, this model has a major flaw. The warmer button, which is located in the bottom right corner displays a very weak “blue” light when in the on position which is barely visible in daylight hours. Within a month of using the coffee maker, the light went out completely and as a result, we have either absent mindedly left it on when the coffeemaker was not in use or brushed up against it while wiping the counters down. This is a HUGE fire hazard because the glass pot gets VERY HOT and has burned our fingers when we grabbed it. We also have a towel nearby that I worry will catch on fire. I have written BUNN without response and as a precaution, I will probably just throw this maker away. Our other makers had a very bright RED light that showed when the warmer was on AND it was located on top so there was no way of accidentally flipping the switch on while wiping the counters down (this has happened several times). While I love BUNN’s, this particular model is seriously flawed and unsafe! DO NOT buy it!

    Bunn. We have a problem. I paid a lot of money for a coffee maker to stop working in less than a year. #1 the burner gets way too hot, but I can work around that. What I can’t work around is the fact that the front button that turns the burner on and off just fell off. In PIECES! It’s such a huge inconvenience that I am forced to purchase a new one. I don’t want to, I shouldn’t have to. Less than a year life span, used twice a day is ridiculous!!

    This coffee maker sucks! After three months it started to drip for hours after the brew. Top up or down, basket in or out it won’t stop dripping. This is a serious safety hazard since it would be extremely easy to forget that the warmer is on. We have already had a few scorched pots due to this. Come on Bunn….what were you thinking????
