We purchased this exact one in 2012 and loved it so much that after 14 years it started to leak slightly while brewing so we replaced it with the exact Bunn coffee maker. It lasted 14 years. It brews fast and coffee tastes great. The coffee maker is easy to clean and brews hot coffee. I have no complaints. I would definitely recommend.

   Something they don’t tell you about this product. Is that if you have a water softener, you need an extra par that does not come in the instructions or when you buy this product, so you have to call the company to order this product. Wait in the mail to receive the part and install. the water. Flow spills all the grinds everywhere if you have a water softener. Something they could have include it in the box. Since the part is free, buyer beware.

   By far, the best coffee maker I have bought. It is well-built and gimmick free. At first it seemed odd that it keeps a reservoir of water ready for brewing, even though it is only used once daily to make a pot of coffee. So I wrote BUNN to ask if we should turn it off for the day, and they replied within hours (surprise!) and suggested I leave it on, and that it is what it is meant to do. So why have a programmable timer/clock/turn off time when it brews a pot of coffee in 4 minutes? And, the coffee stays very hot for over an hour in the thermos pot. It needs regular ground coffee, not fine, and BUNN filtres (they are taller than the standard basket filtres). If you are only brewing one or two cups, the standard basket filtre can work. Yes, this coffee maker is a bit expensive, but worth every cent.

    I love this machine, but as stated in many reviews it for regular grind, Maxwell House type canned coffee. This recent purchase is my 2nd of this model, the first one lasted 12 years of everyday use. I worked in an office that had the BUNN commercial water piped up type units and where all you did was push the button and it made coffee. So This was going to be the hot ticket for me. Unfortunately i liked strong rocket fuel coffee. Fine ground coffee and lots of it. Can’t see the bottom of the spoon strong. I experienced the same overflowing of the basket as other fine ground coffee drinker here in these reviews did. BUNN sent out the new diffuser but did not help. The fix, a big help is using the commercial coffee filters made for the office coffee machines, they are 9-1/2 inches in diameter, (home filters are only 8 inches) just a little big for this basket but having a damp basket allows you to push the filter in tight. And the only thing that will work is to trim down the water valve actuator, see picture. I trimmed about a 1/4 inch off the tip of the white valve actuator. Tried cutting a tiny bit at a time until the basket filled up, almost, but never overflowed. I was using the COSTCO Colombian fine ground roast in the 3 lb can. Very fine grind but makes rocket fuel.

    This coffee pot was a gift to my husband… we had the same Bunn for around 15 years and have always been a fan of their always hot instant brew coffee makers. This replacement had been a heap of hot garbage. It overflows nearly every other brew. We use the same grind with the same filters. Sometimes it overflows, sometimes it doesn’t. I wrote to Bunn and they sent a “flow regulator” to slow flow of the water into the filter and it must be the wrong part because it doesn’t fit. It just falls off. As much as I’d like to reach out to Bunn again, any communication requires logging into their website, entering your model number, repeating the issue, waiting several days for a reply. Seems like assigning someone to the issue would be decent customer service. Or are they having so many issues with their products it would be impossible to respond to the customers? Either way, I’m never going to buy another Bunn coffeemaker and I urge you to choose something else.

    We have been using a previous version (model STX) of this Bunn coffee maker for over 10 years and it was well built and has been amazing. It finally broke and we purchased this to replace it. This new coffee maker is made from cheap plastic and our previous was all metal. The disappointment set in as soon as we took it out of the box. Plus the plastic was so thin on the base that I can squeeze it with my hands. The basket was also made of the same thin shiny cheap plastic. So disappointed. We immediately put it back in the box and returned it. We loved our Bunn and always bragged how fast our coffee would be ready when company came over. We are switching brands to a manufacturer that uses safe and long lasting materials. Bring back the good materials and we will pay more for it.

    My wife unpacked Christmas and followed directions only to have coffee everywhere except the pot. We are still using old pot and to busy to deal with till after our vacation. A note was in box not to return however it’s definitely definitely not working. I watched YouTube and it happened to me also. First Bunn she was so happy then turned my gift into a flop.     I’ve had this coffee maker for about 3 months now. Replaced my Kuerig as I went through two different Kuerigs within a year for faulty computer malfunctions. Junk if you ask me. The BUNN has none of the computer brains to worry about malfunctioning. It has very easy access to the filter which comes right out the front. As soon as you close the water lid it begins to drain into the carafe & in about 2 mins you have 10 cups of coffee. I picked the BUNN without the burners as the carafe keeps the coffee hot for at least 8 hours.

    Super simple setup, really fast brew time, carafe retains good heat for about an hour or two. We had the same problems as other reviewers … spill over from the funnel, and constant leakage when the unit was not in use. We tried different coarseness settings, different quantities of coffee, even different filters, but had no luck getting a consistent pot of coffee without spill over. And the one good pot still had grounds piled up on the shower head when we went to clean the unit. When not in use, we stored the carafe and funnel on a drying rack, and had to constantly wipe up water spills from the unit. We have small children and did not feel safe with the unit randomly spilling an ounce or two of scalding hot water out of the shower head. The one time we were able to get it to brew a pot of coffee, the coffee was great, so it deserves two stars for making a good cup of coffee (really fast). We bought this brewer for its 10 cup capacity, its very quick brewing time, and the fact that it is a Bunn. We really wanted to love it. However, after a week of use and about 200 grams of wasted coffee grounds on our counter, we returned the unit.

    This coffee maker is terrible. It worked the first time, but every subsequent time it spilled coffee grounds everywhere. We tried different filters, including the gold plated reusable filter. We weighed our grounds to the recommended weight from the manual, but nothing worked. We had high expectations because it was a Bunn. It seems to us that the water flows into the well with the grounds faster than the coffee can drip out. We are returning for a refund. I’ve attached photos of the last time we used it. This is after my husband started cleaning up, but hopefully you will get a sense of the issue.

    I bought this to replace the older version which was one of the best coffee makers I’ve owned. What a disappointment. For starters, they replaced a lot of the sturdy metal parts with that flimsy foul smelling plastic that you now find in many products from China. It has a strong chemical odor that fills your kitchen (it is still strong after a few days and gets worse when the water heater is running). Also, if you like to use fine grounds or make strong coffee, you’re going to run into problems with overflowing. This is because the spray head is way too strong. First time I ran it, I had coffee grounds and water all over my kitchen. To solve the problem, you have to actually order another part from Bunn that restricts the flow of water (you can get around this by wetting the filter prior to brewing but it doesn’t always work). Gave it 2 stars because it stills makes a decent pot of coffee when it works.

    The advertisement for a quick coffee brew is a lie. It brews for 3 minutes and continues to drip for another 10 minutes. There is no seal on the grinds holder so it just continuously keeps dripping and dripping, you need to put a napkin underneath to prevent a mess from happening.. The other thing is that you dont know how much coffee you will get. If you dont drink coffee everyday then the water in the reservoir evaporates and you have no way to know how much water is needed to fill it up or to make a full cup of coffee.. They better fix these things or another company will come along and make a better product.

    I would like to start with this is my third coffee maker in less than 6 months. However, this one I really hopes can last longer because I really love it. When I first set up the system I was concerned because the bottom is plastic and didn’t have a heating plate. Upon further inspection, I realized that it does not need a hot plate because the croft is thermal and keeps the coffee warm for you. The process of filling the tank was different. Leave the machine off and unplugged. You have to pour water into the coffee maker 2 or 3 times spacing out 4 minutes till the pot has water in the croft. So to make sure I am explaining myself correctly is that you pour a coffee pot worth of water into the machine. Place the coffee pot in its slot and close the lid where you pour the water into the machine. If you close that lid then you are going to allow the coffee or water to start flowing and can make a mess. Then after 4 minutes have passed get the pot to rinse it out and refill for round 2. I kept this process up until I had a full croft. The reason you do this is to fill the water tanks. When the tanks are filled plug in the coffee maker and turn on the machine. You have to wait 15 min for the water to warm up. When the water is hot and ready to use and fill the croft to your desired amount. Remember when you finish pouring cold water in do not close the lid because it will start brewing hot coffee. FYI, the cold water goes to the bottom of the tank and pushes out the hot water because heat rises. Oh and use the 4inch tall filters because otherwise, you are going to have grains of coffee a be unsatisfied with the coffee. maker. I was so excited when the morning came and I was making my first cup of coffee with my new mug :). The coffee began to pour and I was so excited because my cousin said Bunn is the best and I believe him! Watching the coffee drip was exciting for me because I am so picky about my coffee. I will drink it but I like my coffee hot and do not have that burnt taste of the coffee. I am watching and waiting for the last drop to drop so I can taste the coffee plus I had been without a coffee maker for over a week. I couldn’t wait for that first cup of coffee to test. I poured into my cute mug and it didn’t splash and it poured smoothly. So far so good. I sat down and had to wait a few minutes for my coffee to cool off. The wait for the coffee was worth it. I love coffee and I have not had a decent cup in a very long time. The coffee was rich and tasted so good I should have listened to my cousin years ago but I am stubborn. The second cup is just as good. The coffee didn’t taste burnt and I was so happy. The reason it didn’t taste burnt is that the croft is basically a thermos and that is how the coffee stays hot. I accidentally forgot to clean out the pot until the next day and I was so impressed that the coffee was still a bit warm. For me, I was impressed with the length of time the croft keeps the coffee warm. I have also never spent so much money on a coffee maker but I did and I am so grateful I did because the coffee is perfect and the coffee doesn’t taste burnt after 30 min. I cannot express how good the coffee is and how well it keeps the coffee hot. This is the best coffee maker I have ever had and I cannot brag about it enough. I have only got to use it twice and omg I think I am spoiled. It is worth the money of not having burnt coffee. So yummy! Remember tall filters or you will have issues. It comes with some.

    First off, I purchased this to replace a BUNN GRB Velocity Brew that I had for 8 years. I’m not sure if that is out of the ordinary for them to last that long or if I just took good care of it; but I was really sad to see it finally go. Anyway, I initially was going to purchase the same model since it had served me so well. My wife, however, wanted something a little more modern looking. After reading several positive reviews and having loved my other Bunn so much, I decided to purchase this coffee maker. After using this for about two months, I can say that I am thoroughly pleased with my purchase. It looks really nice, and it feels very strong. Not sure strength of a coffee maker matters, but this does have some weight. As far as the performance is concerned, this works perfectly. It brews just as fast as my old Bunn, and I really don’t taste any difference in the coffee. I was a little skeptical of the lack of a warming plate, but the thermal carafe does a good job keeping the coffee hot for about 2 hours. My one and only complaint is that there is no way to measure the amount of water you are putting in the carafe. Because it is all metal, there is obviously no way to see through and estimate the amount of coffee. There are no notches on the inside that you can use for measurement purposes. So, I end up measuring the water with my old clear Bunn carafe. This might not bother those who make a full pot every time, but I generally only make four to six cups. Using the old carafe solves this issue though. Overall, this is a great product and works very well. As a very forgetful person, the lack of warming plate is actually nice. It prevents me from forgetting to turn it off. Also, this looks really sleek and modern. I am very happy with this coffee maker. It is really like a 4.5 star product; but since that is not an option, it gets 4 stars.

This was a replacement for my old Bunn with thermal pot….they have changed the design and it overflows with coffee all over my counter!     We bought this Home Brewer to replace an old 90’s Bunn commercial brewer that finally started leaking and then the element burned out. We are very happy because it brews in 3 minutes (just 30 seconds longer than our old commercial brewer). I think this Speed Brew Home Brewer is very similar to the commercial version, but in plastic and doesn’t have the metal cover over the tank, but this has the convenient brew pin on the lid, so we don’t have to rush to get the pot under in time, as our commercial brew was very instant and we would sometimes loose a bit of coffee on the element. The decanter does indeed keep coffee hot for 2 hours like it says, but I think it’s still hot enough after 4 hours sitting.
