I’ve had it 3 months and the stainless is stained and rusting, the basket holder sags and has needed help closing since I unboxed it. As of this morning both the basket thingy and carafe are leaking. This delivers the best tasting aromatic fresh ground and brewed coffee! To be a happy owner you probably need an eye for detail and be able to respect the process. There are a few steps to clean and set it up for each brew, but it’s well engineered and the process is simple and easy. If you love constant cleaning, you’ll love this. While it does make excellent coffee and does look cool, its single serve use leaves a lot to be desired. No tray for your coffee cup- splatters everywhere as it drips into the cup. Then you have to take out filter and filter basket holder and clean them both. So to save one KCup in landfill you use 5 gallons of water and lose 5 minutes of your life cleaning your $350 coffee pot that does the exact same thing many sub-$100 grind and brews do. The app is very nice and convenient. The carafe isn’t heated, only insulated. The water tower leaks and the base doesn’t detach in any way to clean. The coffee grinds get everywhere. Like you’re probably thinking- it won’t happen to mine just a few other people purchased. Well, it seems like they all get pretty messy. Cafè almost nailed it with this product, but just didn’t get it right. Returned mine and went with Delongi trubrew

It is the best coffee maker that I have purchased. The ease of taking it out of the box and setting it on my counter was in less that 10 minutes, ready for our first cup of ground coffee. We purchased the stainless matte silver to go with all our matching Cafe appliances, it looks very nice on our counter. The coffee decanter is easy to clean, keeps your coffee hot for approximately 4 hours (not that it lasts that long), and love the different coffee settings/temp for your 1 cup or the 10 cup pot. I use the paper filters for the pot but just have used the wire basket (included) for the 1 cup. The water decanter is a full 75 oz and is very ease to fill, either take it off or pour directly into it. I have never heard of the “bloom” but have somehow been able to drink the coffee without half and half, no more bitter taste. I say “try it , you will like it” Also the sound of the burr grinder is really quiet, not like the previous “747” we had!

We’ve had quite the run with this coffee maker. In the attached video, I was attempting to review my 1st cup of brewed coffee, and at the very end, while I was trying to pour the coffee out of the carafe the handle slipped off the pot that was full and almost caused a messy disaster. Up to that point I was very impressed at how elegant this coffee maker looked and how unique it worked. You pour fresh coffee beans in the top, which has an airtight seal, and as you need coffee, it pulls the beans down, grinds them and gives you fresh coffee. The machine allows you to choose from a certain size cup to multiple size carafes. What I had noticed is that the manufacturer had failed to provide the appropriate tightening screws for the handle, and therefore it fell off at my first use. I made multiple attempts to communicate with the manufacture, but they did not respond. I was relieved that coffeemakers.us.com allowed me to return And get a replacement without any hassle. It makes great tasting coffee and looks really cool in our kitchen so it was worth another try. I’m disappointed in the manufactures inability to respond but I do appreciate their product. The fact that they forgot a couple of screws wasn’t a big deal as I’m sure it happens from time to time. All in all, we’re happy with the coffee maker, but I did deduct a star because of the lack of response from the manufacture.

I would avoid buying this machine from coffeemakers.us.com. When I purchased this, it arrived already broken. I reached out for a replacement and I was unable to get a replacement, just a small discount. I tried to make the best of it, but this machine continues to fall apart and makes a HUGE mess everytime we use it. Now the water container is draining water out onto our counter. It’s just one thing after another. While it looks nice out of the box, the durability and mess I am constantly cleaning up does not make it worth it. I think if you purchase directly from the company instead of coffeemakers.us.com, you may have better experience with customer service if things do fall apart.

After reviewing several grind and brew coffee makers I decided to purchase the one from GE Café. The set up process is very easy. And it makes delicious coffee! The best coffee I have had in along time. I read in a few posts that the water carafe leaked where the filter is installed. I can see this happening if you do not seat the gasket properly. I have not had a leak at all. I have to say it is a little more than I wanted to spend but I’d rather be happy with the first purchase then to have to purchase this one after trying a different one that I didn’t like. I use the Gold brewing feature and the coffee is hot and stays hot for several hours after in the thermal carafe. I hope this helps anyone on the fence about buying this coffee maker. I LOVE it!

Coffee pots have come along way. So many options. The compartment for the water doesn’t lock into place. Given the fact the the touch screen controls are on the base of the coffee pot right in front of the water compartment. I’m a little worried about the long run but the water doesn’t leak out. You can pick it up when it’s got water in it and it will be fine. I usually prefer a glass Carafe, I really like this Thermal one. Keeps the coffee pretty hot without burning it. I set my temp to 205 but 186 is the hottest it’s been. I love the Countdown to the coffee being done and the timer saying how long ago it was brewed. After 30 minutes the coffee temp was 165. I just wish the coffee actually got to 200 degrees. Overall I am really happy with it.

I have to say that I am very impressed with this machine. It makes one hell of a great cup of coffee. I love that I can use either whole beans are already ground and can switch between making a pot or just a cup. There are many settings here that you can change, including the ground, type water, temperature, brew strength cup, or pot size and there are several to choose from couple of things that I would like to change about this. I don’t like the way the filter basket swings out. I wish there was an easier way to access it. I also wish the bean hopper was larger. It doesn’t even hold a full pound bag of beans maybe a quarter of that if you were lucky the app for this is nice I was able to brew a cup without getting out of bed. Unfortunately, mine did not come with the charcoal filter or the holder for the filter. I tried to email Customer Service with the address that is located inside of the manual and it was shot back to me because it is an invalid address so I am not sure who I would contact if I had any issues with the machine.

From my experience after owning for more than 1 year, I’d like to refute the 1 star review given for water leaking and point out the (3) things to check if you’re having any issues with water leaking: 1. Is the rubber gasket in place on the water reservoir?? 2. The filter and the filter cartridge have 3 notches- the owners manual doesn’t mention it but the notches need to align before screwing the assembly to the bottom of the reservoir. 3. Is the water reservoir base clean and free of debris? I once had a piece of a coffee bean fall in there and guess what? Water leaked when the reservoir and base didn’t align properly. Granted I have no detailed understanding of what the 1 star OP actually encountered, but I don’t see a fatal design flaw in my unit and I constantly keep water in the reservoir. Unfortunately, this coffee maker is horrible. I am on my second one and it has some serious flaws. To start positively, it makes a really delicious cup of really hot coffee! Yay! However, it shoots water out of the back (we are on the second one and it does the same thing). Now, it is pooling water at the bottom, under the carafe. I have to have the entire thing sit on a cookie sheet with a towel over the top. Ridiculous for this price point. I’m trying to reach Cafe now for help…

A pretty standard coffee machine. The single serve is not as good, it water downs the coffee. It has a GOLD feature that is suppose to make the best cup but if you like strong coffee, it doesn’t work. It makes a good pot of coffee but if you’re looking to use it as a single serve I would recommend looking at getting a different appliance. I don’t think the price tag is worth it. I would just get a standard coffee machine. It does the same job. The good thing would be based on preference like features of controlling from your phone and it looks upscale and sleek. I think the price is mostly put on the design.

I’ll admit I was a bit hesitant at first spending this much money on a coffee maker, I mean coffee is coffee right? A year later though and I still feel it was money well spent. The coffee tastes good, the machine and the app are easy to use and functionally make sense, and cleaning is pretty easy. I like simply having the beans at the top of the machine so that you only have to refill once in a while. Form compliments function for this product, and it looks great on the kitchen counter. It contributes to the look of the kitchen rather than serving as a necessary eyesore to fuel an alarming caffeine addiction. All in all, it is a great product. I’m looking forward to getting the espresso machine to put next to it!

This is a great machine, We finally found a machine that will grind and brew all in one. The problem after a week or two of using it it started making light coffee very weak. Didn’t matter if it was a cup or craft , We tried every setting change from bold to gold, course to fine ground and endless resets and cleaning , I think we have a lemon.. GE Cafe tech line was awful and not helpful at all with solving the problem. We finally decided to send it back as defective.

Save your money and buy a different brand. I was so excited for this and it’s a huge fail. I have owned it for one week. I have brewed with it 8 times. Twice it has given me an error to clean the grinder. I have to take it apart and make a huge mess. I buy quality beans. Also see the attached photo. Added a second photos. This has happened twice now, the beans grind and overflow in the basket making a huge mess because that part does not come out or apart to clean. Seriously. Don’t buy this piece of junk. Eight times I have brewed and the inside is the carafe is already melting. I have followed all instructions. Customer service at GE and coffeemakers.us.com is worthless. I have a $300 paperweight. Adding another issue….it claims to have a sensor to let you know if the beans are low. This is a lie. I have run out of beans multiple times with zero warning.

I read all the reviews all over the web and was excited to purchase and use this coffee maker. It’s pretty, but quite large and makes a decent cup of coffee. But unless you like a lengthy and impossible cleaning process every time you use it, do not buy this product! My photos show the grinds and residue that were created by brewing just one pot of coffee! And btw, setting the machine for “5 cups” only produces about 20 ounces of coffee. As you can see, the grinds don’t just accumulate in the filter basket like they’re supposed to. Instead they adhere to the top of the filter holder and the underside of the brewer. That round grey disc then has to be removed every time. But that square that you see is set in and just accumulates the grinds and gunk as the coffee is brewed and the steam travels upward. They give you a cheap plastic brush to try to clean it but it can’t possibly do the job, and that area is gooey and discolored after just one use. The situation is worse when you brew just a cup, as the grinds splatter out of the smaller filter basket that you use for this purpose, and coffe splatters a bit outside your cup. You’re much better off with a separate burr grinder and brewer. This coffee maker is a big overpriced mess of a product.

All within the first 30 days: The add water warning message came-on despite the water reservoir being full. Then it failed to draw in the water from the full reservoir. Ultimately we had water coming out of vents at the bottom. Also, the grinder doesn’t grind properly (70% of the time) and often only has a single cup grounds for a whole pot. The pretty copper thumb adjustment tab from full pot to single cup must have malfunctioned. Finally, we had an impossible time getting it to connect to our home wi-fi so the app never functioned properly. It is consistently inconsistent. Not ready for prime-time. Definitely buy the extended warranty if you are going to go through with the purchase. We were just barely within the 30 day return window when the coffee maker fully gave up the ghost refusing to draw water. With so many things going wrong so early, we opted to just return it (nearly a 2 hour commitment). That’s the only downside to coffeemakers.us.com purchases: (1) Repack in original carton, (2) obtain shipping box, (3) re-box said package into shipping box, (4) Print and affix Label, (5) take to UPS Store and (6) remember to retain proof of shipping documents vs brick and mortar (1) drop it off (uncartoned) with the receipt to the customer service desk at your local, friendly retailer.

**Going down to 1 star….we keep trying to use this and like it, but the only way it makes even a halfway decent cup of coffee is if you trick it into double grinding the bean. And the coffee is never HOT enough I wanted to love this, but sadly, it’s not for us. I love how you put the beans in and it grinds them fresh. Love that you can preset it to go on at a certain time (and use the app if you so choose). Love that it doesn’t require filters. BUT, for us, it does not brew coffee strong enough. We’ve tried all the different temperatures and settings, and so far, the cold brew setting is the only one that makes anything remotely thick/strong enough. Also, the coffee does not get hot enough (I know you can adjust the temp)….by the time I’ve poured it into my travel mug and added milk, it’s luke warm at best. Also, the O ring gasket comes off/snaps easily (it does come with a few replacements, probably for this reason). And cleaning this thing/emptying the grounds makes a HUGE mess, no matter how you do it. So….if you just want a coffee pot that looks cool, and you like weak coffee, go for it. Otherwise, we’re better off with our $14 Mr Coffeee.
