Purchased in June 2024 (7 month review). It’s an advanced popcorn popper, made for roasting coffee beans. It does an excellent job. Use it outside or in the garage, the fumes are not something you want indoors. It is loud. It only roasts enough beans to make just under 2 full pots of coffee. It is also so much better than an actual air popcorn popper. But.. the components used to build it are cheap chinese junk! I’ve used it about every other day for for just short of 7 months and it has crapped out. my true value consideration is $35, with a variance up to $70. If it only cost $70 or less, I would be buying another one right now. But $159 is a total rip-off.

Great. Used it at default settings gave me sweetest coffee i ever tasted. Freshly roasted coffee beans is the way to go for that coffee tasting adventure. I think freshly roasted coffee beans could be best consumed within 24 hours of roasting. Also light roasted beans gives coffee tasting adventure a whold new light especially for Single Origin beans.

If you’re interested in Home Roasting, this could be a great Start. I used it to roast about 4 batches of beans the other day. I think I did 250g doses and it produced fairly even roast profiles. Very impressive for this price range and form factor. The roasts are programmed with a heating function and a subsequent cooling function. My goal for my next roast is to take the coffee out of the roaster as soon it’s done roasting and cool it separately in a metal mesh colander with a fan below. Supposedly it’s important to stop the roast and cool it down quickly for maximum flavor potential.

Worked for 10 minutes then stopped working. I followed all instructions on the manual. I think it’s just a cheap quality product. Not worth the hassle of buying then having to worry about returning it.

The fan noise on this roaster is TOO LOUD. There’s no way to hear the 1st or 2nd crack of the coffee while roasting to get an accurate roast profile. I’ve been roasting based on look of the bean and so if roasting different varieties, it’s hard to get a consistent roast as each bean may crack sooner or later depending on the type. Gets the job done, but I really preferred my older cheaper roaster to this one. (I broke the lid and it’s been discontinued, hence my search for another simple cost effective roaster.) it does collect chaff better than a popper would; however it doesn’t catch all of it. I still get some on my countertop that I need to clean up. But for about $150 it’s okay. 3 out of 5 stars. Hopefully mine lasts longer than some other folks on here. If it dies on me before 1year, I’ll update my review to reflect the device’s reliability.
