   We bought this small K-cup coffee maker for car trips requiring nights in motels. A friend told me stories indicating that coffee pots in unspecified commercial hotel locations had been used as urinals. Maybe this is an urban myth, but it didn’t seem out of range, and I couldn’t get it out of my mind. The CHULUX Single Serve Coffee Maker seemed just right. After the device arrived, I realized we could take it on tent camping trips. We are just back from a four-day round of camping at the Lincoln State Park in southern Indiana, and having this coffee maker allowed for quick, delicious Starbucks K-cups right after crawling out of the sleeping bags. Upon return from camping, I noticed that my huge coffee maker was taking up lots of needed space on my kitchen counter. So, now the CHULUX has become the go-to for day-to-day needs here at home, not just travel and camping. This device makes very hot coffee. It is sluggish and takes its time to brew the coffee. But, hey, I am also usually slow early in the morning and don’t mind waiting a few seconds more. The CHULUX Single Serve Coffee Maker has motivated me to transition to the world of K-cups. I never wanted a Keurig or a K-cup brewer. But now I wonder what I would do without it! I highly recommend purchasing this coffee maker for car trips requiring motel stays, camping where electricity is available, and for home use, especially where countertop space is limited.

   El café si lo filtra muy bien y sabe muy rico así que cumple su función y lo de las cápsulas pues sólo buscar unas que si le queden (que si las hay)

   I bought my mom a mini keurig and thought it was cute…so instead of paying a lot for another, for myself, I chose to buy THIS little unit for half the price. It’s much smaller than my mom’s, but oh so cute n PERFECT for my limited space. Works great, coffee tastes great and it looks so cute. Exactly what I need for a quick cup.    Simple & easy to use. Straight out of the box this item was ready to plug in & use. (I also own a Keurig k50 classic series – which sadly takes up a lot of space & requires some assembly). I was pleasantly surprised at the fact that there is no assembly required. The cord wasn’t too long or too short. The same length as my toaster and/or blender cord would be in comparison. The directions didn’t say to run vinegar through the machine – but I did run 1 cycle of vinegar followed by 4 cycles of water to flush the system out before officially making my first cup of coffee. NO weird smells and NO strong plastic taste. I used a kcup from a company called: Cafe escapes – ‘cafe caramel’ flavor & it turned out wonderful. I had soo many questions before ordering this machine. So this is my first impressions review of the Chulux Single serve coffee maker in comparison to my Keurig K50 series. It is definitely worth giving this baby a shot. Seeing that the price alone is a major plus. It takes up 1/3 of the space my Keurig would. My concerns were to find a machine to use when traveling. I also wondered which size mugs & travel tumblers would fit underneath the dispensing spout. So I promptly pulled out 3 of my most used mugs & tumbler. First up is a 12 oz. standard size mug which came out of a Corelle plate set. It measures 6 inches tall. & fit perfectly under the spout with drip tray. Second up is my fav. princess Anna Disneyland mug……depending on how full you fill your cups….this mug holds 12 oz up to 14 oz (if you fill it to the rim). It measured 7 inches tall, although I did have to remove the drip tray for this taller mug to fit & there wasn’t much extra room to spare. So at this point I am going to say the max height of any cup you plan on using with the Chulux single serve brewer should 7″ or shorter in height. My 3rd was my beloved 16 oz. stainless steel starbucks to go tumbler but it was waaaayyy taller than my princess Anna Mug & when sitting next to the Chulux machine it was obviously to big to fit underneath the spout…….unless I plan to transfer my coffee from mug to tumbler I guess I won’t be using it while traveling. On to my next concern – I had read in previous reviews that only specific reusable metal filters are compatible with this machine. I was hoping that the ones I already have would fit. Because sometimes I do use my own pre-ground coffee I have an Eco-fill 2.0 metal reusable coffee kcup filter. (it does not work with this Chulux machine so DON’T buy that brand). Why not? The most important thing to know is that the top lid of the Chulux machine closes flush against the small insert area that holds the Kcup. My Eco-fill 2.0 has a huge hinge on 1 side that prevents the lid from completely closing. Whichever reusable Kcup you do decide to use needs to close & be flat & smooth around all sides. I happened to have the Cafe cups (as seen on TV brand) and YES these do fit & are compatible with the Chulux machine!!!! I will show both the wrong & right brands in pictures posted for reference. Brewing a cup of coffee was easy. Plug in machine. Life lid, pour in water, insert kcup pod, close lid, lock lid, then press the ON button. Once you press the on button you can already hear the water starting to warm up & boil. It took about 1 & 30 secs. to heat up & brew. That’s not long at all. I must admit I am slightly spoiled with my pre-heated Keurig so I don’t really have to wait for the heat up time. But considering it is probably all those extra gizmos that enable pre-heating that take up precious kitchen counter space in the first place then I can survive waiting for 1 minute. I hope that this review will be helpful to anyone who may been wondering the same things as me. I will probably update later on the durability part. I plan to only use this when I travel – so it’s not an everyday use for me.

   Coffee Maker works great using the k-cup. It is small, lightweight, and definitely saves a lot of counter space. Can make up to 12 oz of coffee and very easy to use. This is a single serving, so if you want a specific amount of water, that’s how much you pour into the machine. I found it best to fill your mug with water to measure the amount of coffee you want. Then pour it into the coffee maker. It also has the ability to make ground up coffee. This is perfect for someone who like to drink coffee at home as it is mainly for peopel who drink out of coffee mugs. It will not fit taller travel mugs.

   So…I don’t drink coffee that much (well…before I got this maker I didn’t but now it might be becoming a regular habit because this maker is so accessible and easy to use) but I do like a cup now and then but I hate pulling out our huge space taking Keurig. I wanted something small and quite frankly cute looking. I looked around and did some research and came across this little pink number. There were mixed reviews but mostly positive. I ordered it and it was basically ready to go out of the box. It comes with a little ground coffee holder so you don’t have to order extras unless someone else in the family uses it too. It takes up very little space and is easy to clean up. The only downside is it doesn’t dispense much coffee. I’m talking maybe an 8 oz cup so you will need to make several cups if you’re a huge coffee drinker but I’m not. I just like a little cup of decaf now and then. This would be perfect for dorms, small apartments and for travel if you are really particular about your coffee. It’s great for our house simply because we have so much stuff on the counter already. If I’m honest I’d have to say my favorite thing is the color…it’s such a pretty Easter pink.

   Ordered this to try instead of getting the KeurigK15 (a friend owns one and has some problems with it). It’s my first single serve machine and here’s my list of features with a value of 1-5 for each, 1 being worst and 5 being best: FEATURES great footprint size on counter – 5 attractive style, although material in red color appears a bit cheap – 4 very efficient removable drip tray – 5 helpful distance between downspout and drip tray for large mugs/cups – 5 well designed drainage of water around reservoir inlet portal – 5 recessed holding area for 1.0 or 2.0 Kcups works perfectly and is easy to clean – 5 locking mechanism knob on top is well designed, made, and secures completely for use – 5 single cup/single use reservoir and function ensures water is clean and fresh eash time – 5 **Overall satisfaction with product – 4.7 ———–update 02/22/19———— Unit suddenly leaked from the inside and top when I ran it this morning making a mess everywhere of grounds, coffee, and water and won’t run at all now. Not sure if this is just the lifespan of the coffeemaker or a defective unit, but I’ve been using it for about 2 kcups per day since I purchased it. That’s still a pretty good deal, but of course I wish it lasted longer. ———update 03/13/19———– After contacting the Seller and getting a very satisfactory resolution to the problem, I received my new unit and had a capsule burst in the unit (as seen in first pic). Argh…. Because of these past and present experiences, I spent some time considering the operation and have some suggestions which may help to stop the problem from occurring in the future – no matter the type or brand of k-cup capsule being used. 1. In some cases, it seems closing the lid/upper housing of the coffee maker once a k-cup is placed in the chamber is not enough to correctly align and completely pierce the bottom of the k-cup. This allows too much pressure from the incoming water being pumped in from the top of the capsule and often bursts the top seal of the k-cup. I’ve found that placing the k-cup in the chamber and then carefully manually pressing down the the sides of it to level and pierce the bottom of the k-cup results in a perfectly ‘seated’ k-cup that is completely flush with the raised lip surrounding the k-cup chamber and has a completely and adequately pierced bottom of the k-cup for liquid to exit. 2. It also seems that with the amount of water being pumped into the pierced top of the k-cup, some pressure can build up that without a gasket or seal around the complete edge of the k-cup top can result in bursting the top seal or causing a leak that results in water/liquid coming out of the bottom of the coffee maker unit. I didn’t take the unit apart so I’m not sure where/how this would be happening. I used a piece of spongy waterproof foam material (protective packaging sheet) with a thickness of 1/8 inch or about 3mm and cut a circle with a diameter of 1/2 inch larger than the k-cup capsule, so that 1/4 inch extended beyond the k-cup top all the way around. After placing the k-cup into the chamber and pressing it into place so that the bottom was completely pierced and the top was flush with the raised lip surrounding the k-cup chamber, I placed the foam ‘ gasket’ on top of the k-cup so that it was centered and then carefully lowered the coffee maker lid/upper housing and then held the lid firmly shut while turning the lock on top of the lid. This allowed the sharp plastic insertion piece in the lid to pierce through the foam and into the k-cup, and also created a seal on the rest of the k-cup and around the edge where it meets the chamber lip with a very slight amount of pressure. I’m sure such a design could be built into the top of the upper housing – perhaps a foam or rubber gasket that extends from the existing rubber seal around the plastic inserting piece in the lid to just beyond the raised lip of the chamber and creating a liquid-proof seal. After testing carefully using the first step mentioned here along with the fabricated foam gasket, there were no leaks and the coffee exited the lower nozzle of the chamber quickly and easily. When opening the lid of the coffee maker afterwards, the interior around the chamber was clean and dry. I then used 5 different brands of k-cups and made 12 cups of coffee using the methods described here. There were no leaks, malfunctions, and the interior around the chamber was clean and dry each time I opened the lid after the brewing process was complete. Now I can continue using this little powerhouse with no worries of leaks. 👍😎☕

   This is probably the best thing I ordered on Prime Day. We needed a small coffee maker for our camper and this is perfect. It is a very lightweight plastic and compact machine that makes a very good cup of coffee. It is as good as our former name brand machine at a fraction of the price. And the color make is t fun and cute. It is a nice bright appliance to add to a cheerful morning. Now here are the drawbacks: It is very slow to heat the water. It is for one cup at a time, so each person must wait while the water heats. Just when you start to second guess if you did everything correctly, the water finally goes through. The other drawback is that it is too short to use a latte mug. The one in my picture is an oversized, but not extra tall mug, so I can still get a large coffee with the right mug, but be aware that a tall thermos cup or latte mug will not fit under. The only other minor issue is that it takes a little bit of careful aiming to add the water, but I will likely be able to master that part now that I am aware.

    This coffee maker would be great for a guest room, travel, boats and RVs. Here’s why: PROs – Brewing time consistently ranges from 2 min 58 seconds to 3 min 15 seconds. – Heats liquid to 162 degrees. – Lightweight, compact design for travel and small countertops. – Easy to follow instructions written on side – great for guests. – Allows up to 6” tall travel mug when tray is removed and 12 oz of liquid. – Has a filter to keep particles from getting into water reservoir. – Easy to pour water into reservoir. The main opening is small but has a large square area around that catches and funnels any spills. – Great value! – Clean styling. CONs No performance issues yet. Only two very minor complaints: – When the tray is removed to allow for a taller mug, there are two ridges on the bottom that cause the cup to be unstable and tip slightly if the cup is not wide enough. – Lack of other color options such as white or stainless/gray. – The plastic does look a little cheap but that’s to be expected at this price range. I purchased this coffee maker for our boat, where space is extremely limited. There are lots of single serve options out there, but none that are less than 10” high, which is the exact space between the galley counter and overhead cupboard. I bought this machine solely based on its size and was pleasantly surprised by its performance. It is a bonus that the instructions are written directly on the side, so that friends can see for themselves how to use it. It would be great for a guest room and is so lightweight it would be easy to pack. I wasn’t looking for perfection, but it actually brews a hotter cup than our current single serve Cuisinart. It may take a bit longer, but I’m not one to mind waiting a couple minutes more for a hotter cup. Our former Keurig never brewed this hot before it died. That one was crap – especially for the high price. I don’t expect this one to last forever but we’ll see… So far so good. Recommend! PS – I feel compelled to add that the “coffee exploding” complaint can be an issue with any brand, if you don’t push the K cup completely down, rather than relying on the top to compress it for you. This happened with our Cuisinart also. The coffee will explode out the top when the K cup has not been pushed down properly and punctured at the bottom. Also I believe in using filtered or bottled water, which is recommended to keep calcium deposits from forming. I have tried using both tap and filtered, and it’s not just a taste issue. The machine does last longer. If you occasionally clean the spout, that helps as well.

    I’m in love with this little coffee maker! It makes a perfect cup of coffee every time. In reply to what others may complain about: Water Reservoir has to be refilled for each cup. Not a deal breaker for me since I was looking for something small and compact for traveling. I use a small measuring cup from dollar tree. I like a stronger coffee and my husband likes it a little weaker. It’s easy to measure out how many ounces we each want. It takes longer to brew than the Keurig. I don’t notice it taking much longer. By the time I finish brushing my teeth my coffee is hot and ready. On average we make about 4-6 cups a day when we are traveling and this tiny little powerhouse of a coffee / Kcup brewer is perfect! It packs away nicely. It’s lightweight. You can use your own reusable filter. And let’s not forget how cute it is!! In fact, my husband thought it was a kids toy at first 🤣 He wasn’t sure of the orange color either but I was going for a 70’s vibe so I won😁

    We received this product. Upon attempting to use it for heating water to test the unit, it didn’t work as expected. 12 ounces of water was used as that is the max it holds in the heating tank. When the water is heating it overflows from the filling reservoir. The unit then brews only the remaining water which is about 2 ounces. We attempted to return to coffeemakers.us.com for this defect but were 1 day out of window. We then proceeded to obtain a refund with the manufacturer which is in China. They have offered a replacement however this first one burned my husband, almost burned me and almost ruined our RV countertop due to very hot water spilling outside the unit. I am afraid a replacement may do the same thing. We prefer a refund to buy a different brand. We hoped this product worked due to the low wattage that could be used in an RV. Beware if you purchase and yours doesn’t work as expected. We waited to test ours until we went camping but should have tested prior due to the return policy expiring wit coffeemakers.us.com. coffeemakers.us.com beware this is a burn hazard due to very hot water spilling over the top of the unit filling reservoir. UPDATE: Seller refunded cost. They offered a replacement upgraded unit. Will consider this due to the excellent customer service. Updated review to 4 stars for Customer service.     This review compares the original(?) Chulux 800w single serve coffee maker with the newer 1000w stainless steel model. I purchased the original Chulux in July 2019 and have overall been very pleased with it. It has worked with no issue, heats water quickly, and is easy to use and easy to clean. There were a few things I didn’t like though. It has directions printed on the side for how to use it, which makes it look like a hotel room coffee maker. It has a very small opening for the water reservoir so it is difficult to pour water into it from a mug and you have to pour slowly or it will overflow. The drip tray platform is removeable to allow for a slightly taller mug, but it is slightly difficult to remove and requires both hands to hold the Chulux and remove the tray. Once the tray is removed, there are ridges in the platform that make putting a mug on them slightly precarious. The new stainless model Chulux resolved all of these issues. It has very nice stainless steel sides and a large opening for the water reservoir making it easy to pour water into it from a mug. The drip tray platform lifts out easily with one hand, and once the tray is removed the platform for the mug is perfectly flat. It also has some additional nice features. It has a measurement indicator in the water reservoir so you know how many ounces of water are in it. The spout that the water comes out of is slightly shorter, so allows for a slightly taller mug. I did a side-by-side test of how quickly they heated up, and the stainless model does brew slightly faster, which makes sense since it is 1000W and the original is 800W. The stainless model had about a half a cup dispensed when the original started dispensing, so it is not a huge difference. The original Chulux does do a couple of things better. It creates less splatter. Possibly because of the longer dispensing spout, but also because it dispenses in more of a steady stream while the stainless model dispenses with more spray. The open/lock dial on the top turns smoothly all the way from open to locked and has a better feel on the original model. The open/lock dial on the stainless model has a cheaper feel and you have to turn harder to click it into the locked position. This is a minor nitpick though. One other important distinction is the size. The original Chulux has a very small footprint. The stainless one, while still small, is noticeably wider, deeper, and taller. This also means that when the lid is open, it is taller than the original and will need more clearance under countertops. In summary: Original 800w Chulux Good: Small footprint Good: Very little splatter Good: Good feel to open/lock dial on top Bad: Printed directions on side Bad: Small reservoir opening Bad: Drip tray takes two hands to remove and once removed there are ridges on the platform that cups do not sit well on Stainless 10000w Chulux Good: much larger opening for water reservoir is easier to fill and has built in measurement Good: Looks nice on the counter Good: Drip tray reservoir removes easily with one hand Good: Slightly more room for taller mugs Bad: Larger footprint on counter and taller Bad: Splatters a little more Bad: Open/lock dial not as smooth to operate Overall, both are good products. The original does the job and is cheaper and smaller. The stainless one is more expensive but looks far better. It is easier to fill, but also has a larger, taller footprint which might not work for some countertops.

    The first thing noticed was that the colors in the photos are off. The product is a much brighter/bolder color than pictured, in this case the muted burnt orange item pictured is actually a bright punchy orange. So be prepared for that. Looking past that, comparing this to the Hamilton Beach single-serve Flexbrew that brews both k-cups and coffee grounds, this unit wins. It’s easy to use, and is thankfully compatible with the 8 Reusable Keurig Single K Cup 2.0 – Solo Filter Pod Coffee Stainless Mesh – 8 Rainbow Color as well as all Keurig coffee and cocoa k-cups used thus far. It takes about 2.5 minutes for the water to heat up, then 30 seconds later your cup is full and it’s ready to brew again. PRO: Small and light, probably the smallest available at this time. Great for travel or saving counter space. PRO: Easy enough for elderly relatives to use PRO: Much easier to clean than a traditional coffee pot (even with the reusable K-cups rinsing out the coffee grounds) PRO: Cheaper than the beastly sized Keurig machines, and the Hamilton Beach single-serve Flexbrew PRO: Can brew cup after cup, there’s no cool down time like on some units PRO: No leakage or grounds found in coffee/cocoa/tea brewed thus far CON: The water volume that comes back out is inconsistent. About 1 out of 5 cups made seems to be off. So that cup that only brewed half full, the next person that uses it will have a cup that overflows. So be prepared for that. CON: A bit noisier than expected while it heats up the water. Not a deal killer as long as you aren’t brewing the coffee near a sleeping person. I’d liken it to the sound volume of a hair dryer on low, definitely noisier than my large water peculator. CON: Confusing marketing. Like many foreign products & clothing sold on coffeemakers.us.com this unit looks identical to other coffee makers just with a different name stamped on it and having minor differences. For example, if you compare this Chulux to the IFill Cup – Single Serve Compact K-cup Brewer – Ifill300 (Black) (Includes Free 6 Units of Ifill Cup Filter, Reusable up to 10 times)r and the Knox Compact Travel Size K-Cup Coffee Brewer sold here you’ll see what I’m referring to. In this case, the Chulux and Knox both have the built in water filter (when you lift the top lid to dump in water, there’s a small filter basket with a screen that filters any bits that may try sneaking in when you dump your water in. The Ifill unit doesn’t have that, but instead comes with 6 semi-reusable coffee pods (not as nice as the ones you can buy separately). So comparing apples to apples, look at both this Chulux and the Knox and buy whichever has the better sale. CON: This won’t be a con for people just wanting to brew into a regular ceramic coffee cup, but I hope future models are made slightly larger to accommodate taller travel mugs. With the base tray, the max height of your mug can be 4.5″. With the units base tray removed, a 5.75″ tall travel mug could fit underneath, perhaps slightly taller if you tilt it in. Good for smaller 12oz travel mugs (12oz is the max water volume), pictured is a 16oz travel mug that definitely won’t fit under the spout. Overall, a compact unit that does the job and handles any k-cup or your choice of coffee grounds in a reusable k-cup pods (sold separately). If they could make future models slightly larger and with some sound dampening it would be an easy 5-star winner.

    I specifically bought this coffee maker for my RV. We dry camp a lot, and although I have sufficient solar I only have a 1100 watt inverter. At 800 watts, this unit seems to run well on my 1100 watt inverter. For 12 ounces of water, I figure the brew time is more like 5 minutes than 3 as advertised, which I calculate to use about 5.5 amp-hours total from the batteries. My solar can easily make that up in 20 minutes in good sun. It is way more convenient than boiling water with gas every time I want a cup of coffee or tea. As for the product itself, it is easy to use and doesn’t take much space on the counter top, which is also a concern in an RV. My only complaint would be that tall travel mugs do not fit even with the drip tray out, so you might have to pour your coffee from a shorter mug into the travel mug. But other than that this product is ideal for RV use. I specifically bought it rather than a Keurig Mini because the Keurig, although quicker and able to hold a taller travel mug, draws 1425 watts when heating, which is a lot unless you have a large battery/inverter system.

    First of all, it’s super cute. The blue is really pretty and the exact color I wanted. The color is matte and doesn’t look like cheap plastic. It’s small. I think the reservoir holds 12 or 14oz but a tall travel mug won’t fit under the spout. I only drink one small cup of coffee a day but, as you can in the photo, even my 6oz travel cup which is 5” tall barely fits. I have to tip the cup slightly to get it out. A regular or even tall coffee cup should fit just fine tho. It’s a bit slow to brew. The manual said 3 minutes but it didn’t take that long. This machine is replacing a similar style and priced coffee maker that was “fast brew” and it burned up in a month, so I’m ok if slow brew means maybe it’ll last longer. When this one dies I’ll finally spring for a nicer, larger machine but for now I’m happy with my cute little blue coffee maker.

    Most k cup machines are ridiculously over complicated and absurdly expensive. This Machine is knock it outta the park top quality good. literally less than 2, 3 mins to create a tasty, brewed, HOT cup of coffee. Not only that, but it’s also having small counter footprint and NO BRAINER easy to clean. Hey, think about it, like an you want to simplify life not make it an ordeal with bulky metal monster machines, multiple choices and to many bells and whistles. SOOOOO here’s what happens, least for me, wake up, stumble around, grumble and mutter that I need coffee pronto, take out a coffee cup, put some filtered water in it, dump it in water reservoir, insert k cup, put now empty mug under fill tube on tray, close lid and lock it, press power button and WHAMMO, Excellent brewed coffee down the hatch…and think how clever I am, and if I want more, I repeat the steps or wife can make it for me. We both like this easy breezy, classy machine. SWEEET!

    One job. It runs hot water through a pod. I plan on using it in our RV. It is difficult to fill with a coffee cup, so you’ll want something with a spout to keep from dripping water when filling it. As expected, at 800W it takes a bit longer than our full sized 1500W maker. It took 3:45 to heat 8oz of water from 67°F (tap water) to 160°F, about the standard temp at your local coffee conglomerate. I prefer hotter but it’s not adjustable. It is a little noisier than anticipated. It does a good job of using all the water added making it easy to wipe down and store off the counter. One concern, the manual states that breaking either of the pins, the greatest wear point, will void the warranty. Hopefully I’ll never need to test that.

    Perfect size and great price. I use mine on my desk at work everyday day with no problems. It does take a little longer to heat up than I originally expected but not an issue since the coffee comes out nice and hot every time. I was worried about the “blowouts” mentioned in other reviews, because no one wants a soggy mess of important documents on their desk. To avoid this I always make sure to push down the k-cup into the holder until it makes a “pop” sound, before closing and locking down the top. This ensures that the bottom of the k-cup gets punctured all the way through and the coffee can come out the bottom. I can see how a blowout can happen if only the top foil gets punctured. I have a short 12oz travel mug that fits great (the mug in the picture can hold 12oz with the lid on and 14oz if filled to the top/no lid), but it can also fit my taller 16oz ceramic cup. The tray is a little smaller than the base of my cup, but it’s the price of a compact k-cup coffee maker. It’s also not super quiet but not a problem in my office Overall it’s a great little machine if you have limited space. Definitely would recommended especially for the price. Plus it’s pretty in Red!

    I’m used to a drip coffee maker but I’ve been spending so much time at work where they have a keurig that I got spoiled and wanted an easier way to make coffee at home. Found this guy and it’s perfect! Works just like a keurig but only makes one cup at a time which means it takes up less counter space which I love. It takes a bit longer than a keurig to brew but I don’t mind and I love the colors! Definitely recommend!

    Pros: This coffee brewer works just as described. It is very user-friendly. All you have to do is pour in water, put in a K-cup, and press the on button. The machine turns off automatically once it’s finished brewing, so you can walk away from it to get other things done and then come back to a finished cup of coffee and a shut-off machine. Every time I’ve tried it so far, it has taken 2 minutes and 45 seconds from the time I press the on button to the time the machine turns off. The compact size of the machine is a big bonus for me, too. It holds more liquid than I typically need for my coffee (it holds up to 12 oz, but I usually only use 8 oz). The amount of water you pour into the machine is the exact amount that comes out (I measured before and after), so you can measure the water level you want in your mug and then pour it out into the machine. The manufacturer recommends using cups with a maximum height of 5.5 inches, but if you remove the drip tray (which is very easy to do), you can fit a mug with a height up to about 6.25 inches under the drip spout. The drip tray holds an absolute maximum of 3 oz of liquid. Cleaning the machine is also very easy. Before using it for the first time, run it without a K-cup. Just use water. I also cleaned the removable drip spout, the rubber drip spout ring, the drip tray, and the water filter basket piece with lukewarm water and soap. I also poured warm water into the machine, closed and locked the lid, shook the machine up and down, and then poured the water out, and repeated twice more. After that, it seemed good to go. This machine is probably best for those who aren’t big coffee aficionados but just enjoy a cup of coffee every now and then. You could even just use it as a water boiler to get piping hot water in just under 3 minutes. Cons: As to the safeness of the product, the product is made in China, but contains a UL serial number on the underside of the machine (see attached picture) that you can use to look up the product in the UL’s database. While the item is listed in the database under “Household cooking appliances,” it says that “neither the toxicity of coatings nor the physiological effects of consuming food prepared by use of these appliances has been investigated.” Just something to consider before buying it. I think that for many like myself, the cheapness of the product is an advantage that outweighs the disadvantage of the safety risk, but if I could afford to shell out more money, I’d go with something with a better, stricter safety rating. Also, it is curious that the image for this product here on coffeemakers.us.com contains the FDA logo, but nowhere in the instruction manual, on the box, or on the machine does this logo also appear, which means it is likely not certified at all by the FDA. This is a rather sketchy move by the seller, and is the main reason why I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5. Overall: Go with it if you want something cheap, effective, and easy to maintain, and if the safety risk doesn’t bother you too much. Don’t go with it if you have more money to spend and can buy a similar product with a better safety rating by a well-recognized, well-reputed safety standards organization.
