   I’ve been using this coffee maker for about 3 years now and have enjoyed many delicious cups of coffee. However, due to the plastic material, it seems like it’s time for a replacement. The part that adjusts the coffee flow has broken, causing the saucer to detach. On the plus side, I appreciate that I can easily clean the part where coffee oils accumulate. I think the manufacturer could improve this product by making the top and bottom sections detachable. Even though I’ll be purchasing a new one, I’ll continue to use this old one as well because it’s still functional. Overall, it’s been a good product, but the durability could be improved.”

   I love this thing! I use it to make pour-over, French press, iced coffee, hot tea, and iced tea –all with the same brewer. I also love the clean up –take out the filter and rinse the brewer, easy. Also, no special filters needed –you can buy the #4 filters anywhere, I get them at my local Trader Joe’s for cheap.

   I was introduced to this filtered immersion brewing method on a trip and couldn’t wait to buy one once I got home. It is now my preferred morning method- it has the richness of a French Press but smoothed out by filtering and with little to no cleanup. Even Hoffman says so! I follow his method and add my grounds after the water, giving a light stir after a minute, for easier draining. All you need is a standard kettle, no gooseneck required. Could possibly be used for pour-overs too? Spend the money on this original brand, the quality is worth it! Quick shipping.

   I messed with this thing for months, and ended up going back to my V60.
   Overall this is fine and makes good enough coffee. But compared to cheaper, smaller devices, it simply can’t compete.

   Pros:
   -Don’t have to stand around and carefully manage a poor

   Cons:
   -Harder to get good coffee than a v60
   -Bigger and more annoying to clean than a v60
   -The valve on the bottom gets stuck sometimes and dumps coffee all over your counter. Yeah. It sucks.

   Save your money, get a plastic v60 and never look back.

    Here’s the thing. I love manual brew. There are SO many options out there for brewing with a kettle and delicious, fresh coffee. Tons of pour overs, tons of immersion brewers, and tons more percolators… But this little guy… he’s a lot of fun. Hario recently came out with a product to challenge the Clever Dripper’s long-lasting immersion/pour reign, but this thing will always be king. 20g of coffee, 200g of 198ºF water, and a 3 minutes to brew a fantastic, easy cup of coffee in the morning. I would highly recommend this brewer!

    I have been using the Clever Coffee Dripper for several years. The one I have now is my third one and the design and construction has just gotten better and better over the years. The flange at the bottom keeps the coffee steeping inside and the lid on top holds in all the coffee steam and aroma until you’re ready to release it into your cup. It is somewhat expensive but is worth every penny! With average use it should last at least 3 or 4 years, depending on how rough you are with it. I dipped my last one in a hardwood floor and it broke. It’s a hard plastic, not a soft rubber material, so, you do have to be gentle with it. Cleans easily – just take the filter full of coffee grounds out and throw in trash, rinse the Clever Coffee Dripper with running water in the sink and put up in the cupboard till next use. Caution: Do not wash in dishwasher. As long as they make this thing, I will always use it and I have recommended it many times to friends. Get it now!

    The coffee made in this Clever Dripper always tastes excellent. The way this works is that you put the filter in the cone, then the coffee ( I always use freshly ground coffee ) , then pour hot water ( 190 – 195 degrees ) over the grounds. The Clever part is that the stopper mechanism does not let the water thru until the cone is placed on a cup. So you can let the coffee steep in the grounds as long or short as you wish. I have used French Presses, the AeroPress, and of course regular coffee makers. This one is easy to use and the coffee always tastes great. It uses a filter – which some people might say will reduce the intensity of the flavor – but I do not notice anything like that. It is so easy to clean – just pick up the filter and toss in garbage, then rinse the cone. As opposed to a French press, where it is a real pain to get the coffee grounds out of the press and not let them get into the drain.
