Works as advertised. Have had this for 15 months and motor died. Works out to a cost of +/- $2.00 per roast for the machine. Lots of smoke and chaff so do outside, in the garage or under a strong stove exhaust fan to outside. Nice even results but you MUST manage your input temperatures for sucess. Might buy another one but will look for a replacement motor first. $200 plus for an appliance that lasts only 120 uses is a bit salty.

Works wayyyyy better than my last one that was more popcorn machine style. Roast great. Make sure you get a quality camping stove. Roasts in under 15min depending on bean you buy. Super happy with this.

Easily roasts 1/2 pound up to 1 pound at a time. I’ve used specialized hot air machines before and was frustrated by only being able to do a few ounces at a time. Perfect size for home use. Some chaff does escape out of the opening during the final part of the roast. Some of that chaff burns up from the gas burner. Obviously you never leave a device like this unattended so it hasn’t been an issue. A screen could be added by the manufacturer to stop this.

I got this because I wanted a larger batch of coffee to be roasted. I have a hive roaster and I love it but I wanted something less physically intense and so I could multitask in the kitchen and watch the process more.
I got a 15,000 BTU stove and it might have been a tad overkill. However it works and as I get better with it and with the colder temps it might be perfect.
Can get roughly 3 roasts of coffee with one 8oz Butane can.
One tip is labor the screws and hole associated as that is how it will go together each time. It took me a bit of time playing around with assembly before I got it all lined up and marked. It helps make assembling more seamless.
For the price this is a really good roaster. Get a digital thermometer with the wire probe for accurate temperature of beans and preheat it. I been doing closer to 250 degrees F of preheat but I am still playing around with it.

Very easy to use! Excited about roasting my own coffee beans! The only negative is that there are no instructions, however assembly was a breeze.

The first one developed a crack in the glass after five years, bough the second one just for the glass. Machine works okay, roast is not that even. The reason I continue to use it is because the hot air machine I bought for a few hundred dollars has less capacity and burned out in the first roast.
At least the last one lasted five years, and despite the minor drawbacks, the pros are that it can roast a pound at a time in 20 minutes or less, you can see the roast extremely well in progress, and the coffee tastes great.
