   Finally replaced an old industrial coffee maker when it began to leak. Decided on Cuisinart because I own other appliances made by them. First its big.. almost too big for my little kitchenette. Impossible to use the carafe to pour water into the chamber in a tight area. Plus you have no way of measuring how much water is in the carafe until you pour the water in. Then you can visually see a measuring stick built into the water chamber. So, I’m using an old carafe that I can measure water from. The charcoal filter is weird. If you are using filtered water, then you may want to ignor this entire process. Plus booklet states to replace every 60 days? But they only give you a single filter. The brewing process is fast and I hate that once the coffee cycle is completed the unit auto shuts off. That means you have to depend on the coffee staying hot inside the stainless carafe. Ifs its more than an hour, hit brew with grinder off and it will restart the unit. I can’t figure out how to keep the unit on! Hard to clean but most are. You can remove the part holding the permanent filter or disposable paper filters to clean as well as the bean holder. The instructions where when the clean light goes on sounds like a nightmare so have a bottle of white vinegar on standbye always. My first two brews with a dark Columbian premiim roast were adequate. Cannot adjust temperature and instructions about using hot water is confusing. Grinder is not as loud as others but it will wake the dead on a Sunday morning. A bit overpriced but you get to auto grind whole beans so I’m giving it 4stars. Looks high tech, brushed chrome and black with Cuisinart logo embossed on front. Lastly, cycle for regular and grind brewing is superfast so waiting for that first cup of java is going to make you happy. ENJOY!

   Highly recommended. I decided years ago to be loyal to Cuisinart appliances due to a great customer service experience so, if they’re reading this, CS does make a difference. This is my 3rd similar Cuisinart but each provided good service for a long time. I stepped back from 12 cup to 10 cup this time. I almost always only brew 6 cups but sometimes have company. I wanted the insulated pot for energy savings: the coffee brews and then the heater shuts off, but the pot keeps the coffee nice and warm. The clear pot with my old one was easier to be accurate with my 6-cup daily grind, but it only took a couple of days to figure this one out. only negative is that it’s hard to pour the last cup out of the pot, compared to old pot. Overall, excellent grinding coffeemaker, easy to use and clean.

   The flavor of the coffee really depends upon the beans you use. You do need to clean this pot after each use. You need to wash and clean all of the Debris out of the grinder and out of the Machine itself. For example clean the debris out of the area where the coffee enters into the basket. Also remember before you brew your coffee fill the corraff with hot water and let it sit a minute, pour it out, and then you’re ready to brew!

   Love this! It’s my 3rd Cuisinart grind and brew. I have to clean it more often, it now has a “clean” light to remind you. I like the new combination basket w/lid. The coffee pot also seems to come out more smoothly when removed. As always this coffee maker makes a delicious fresh cup. The delivery was fast & nicely packaged too.

   Great tasting coffee but the design is horrible. I would not buy again if I had to replace this coffee maker. It is a fantastic looking coffee maker. The coffee taste good, but probably related to the type of beans or ground coffee you use. I found that I cannot clean the thermal carafe. My hand does not fit into the top of the serving carafe because the design opening is so small. So, cleaning it is a REAL problem. Also, my biggest complaint the automatic grinder which I felt was a selling point when purchasing, is COMPLETELY wrong in its design. When the coffee brews, the grinder gets completely wet with condensation. When the grind is complete all the remnants of the bean grind are wet. Note, it does say to clean the grinder after every use. But I find the condensation is so bad that I don’t even want to use the built-in grinder.

   While it makes a good cup of coffee at a reasonable price for a grind and brew coffee machine there is a huge drawback. Note that the grinder needs to be cleaned daily. Unfortunately it’s a mess, a cleaning challenge. Moisture collects inside the grinder every time you brew coffee so the cleaning is not an option it’s a mandatory thing since the entire chamber that transports ground coffee into the filter basket gets completely blocked off and it’s no easy task cleaning it every day. Akin to getting leaves out of a roof gutter, plan on some very serious work. Good maker but …. It has a major problem.

   I have been using this coffee maker daily since the beginning of January 2024. I purchased it on the 3rd and today is October 7th 2024. About a month ago after exponentially getting harder to remove the grinding unit for cleaning, it became impossible to remove. I began cleaning the grinder in place which didn’t work either. The shoot which the coffee travels into the basket through got totally packed. I am thankful I hung onto my old $15. Hamilton Beach coffee grinder! Do yourself a favor and stick with a regular coffee maker and a grinder.

    Makes great coffee although a pain to clean. However if you use it for a couple of years after awhile the grading process wears on the inner walls of the grinder and as evidenced in the image a pretty big area of the inner wall of the grinder cup has worn away meaning that the plastic from the grinder cup ends up in the grounds cup and even with the filter might put micro-plastic particles in your coffee. Great idea but possibly a hazard down the road.

    I loved the stainless steel carafe that came with the unit. It kept the coffee nice and hot for an extended period of time. I also thought the unit brewed a good cup of coffee. But I quickly grew tired of the cleaning ritual that needed to be performed after each brewing. In my opinion the design is a bit convoluted, and adds a lot of effort to the cleaning effort. In addition to the regular brew basket the unit also has a chamber for grinding the beans and a channel for moving the beans from the chamber to the basket. During the brewing cycle, the hot water flows thru the chamber to the channel which directs the grounds to the basket. When the brewing has completed, this entire assembly needs to be removed and cleaned because a fair amount of grounds don’t make it to the brew basket and remain in the chamber and channel. The delayed brewing options worked fine, but it would have been nice to have a bean reservoir with a selector switch for the amount of beans to use for the brewing process instead of having to measure out the amount of beans needed for each brewing session.

    This review is for the Cuisinart DGB-450 Series Coffee make / grinder. Waking up to wonderful, freshly ground and brewed coffee was amazing! But we bought two of this model, one after the other, after being assured by Cuisinart that the extremely loud grinder, that wakes us up at the other end of the house, was not the norm. But I think it may be the norm for all grinders. The other thing that was the same was that the instruction book says: “Your coffeemaker is preset for medium, the optimal grind for this type of brewing process”. But this grinder seemed to grind very fine, producing a sludge throughout the machine that is difficult to remove (see photo). I would think that would reduce the life of the coffee maker. Returned the first and second machine for those reasons. We did love the stainless steel pot that kept the coffee hot (but not bitter) for several hours!

    Received this on Monday I think, and it started off leaking everywhere. Also weird function, the Grind button automatically turns on, you have to select Brew, turn brew off, THEN select Grind Off and then Brew again. By day 5 the leaking stopped but now it won’t turn on at all. Tried multiple outlets that my toaster and instapot all work in, and this won’t turn on again. I spent a lot of money on this and I’m very disappointed I’m without a coffee pot now. I did email customer service early this morning and haven’t heard back yet. Hopefully they’ll have an answer.

    I liked the price and the thermal carafe. What I didn’t like is cleanup required after every use. Per the instructions “Completely clean and dry all parts (grinder basket lid, grinder basket, filer basket cover, filter basket holder) after EVERY use”. See photo. Also you need to wipe/clean the area in the coffee maker under the grinder basket. I’m returning the unit.

    I did not notice this was a refurbished coffee pot when I bought it. The packaging was original, but in bad shape as you can see in the photos, there was no extra packaging. And also the top lid of the coffee pot was chipped probably due to the bad packaging, not really happy but the coffee pot does work if I had known it was going to be like this I don’t think I would’ve bought it. Is there a warranty with this? It did not come with any instruction booklet.

    This is my 3rd Grind and Brew unit in the past 15 years. I love them. I got this newer model in August 2021. I’ve always gotten the insulated carafe. It seems I got a defective cover as it does not sit correctly on the pot and it comes apart. It doesn’t affect the brewing process but it just bothers me that I got the lemon. I would recommend the product itself and have never had another problem.

    I just received my 10-Cup Cuisinart Grind/Brew and I love it!! Who needs Starbucks when you can easily grind your own beans fast and have a delicious cup of HOT coffee when you want it and the smell of the fresh coffee is so nice! I love the thermal craft, it keeps the coffee very hot. I don[‘t even mind cleaning it because the coffee is so wonderful!     Buen producto el café sale rápido, muy aromático y buen sabor, No fue fácil su uso y tampoco fue fácil encontrar videos para ello.     We bought this Cuisinart coffeemaker to replace one we lost in a disaster. We were looking for one with an insulated carafe and the whole bean grinder, and we really love it! We just started using it and I discovered how much easier it is to clean than the old one. Everything that the coffee contacts is removable and it was such a breeze to clean thoroughly! It is also programmable to brew automatically, but be aware that if you program it for a fresh pot in the morning, the unexpected noise of the beans grinding may scare your family!! Totally recommend this coffeemaker though!!!

    Grinder works well but is too loud; have to clean grinder after every use and it is a pain to do, requires scrubbing with cloth and then takes a long while to dry, if it does; carafe does not keep coffee hot for very long even though I heat it ahead of time with boiling water, I still have to reheat coffee in the micro; taste is not as good as my French Press! Trying to sell mine on Marketplace!
