My husband and I received this as a gift years ago, and we love it so much we got rid of our regular carafe coffee maker. This is certainly not the appropriate appliance for making a large pot to sip throughout the day or share with several people, but it does exactly what it suggests – brews two hot cups, straight into travel mugs. It’s perfect for simple brewing in the morning. Pour in the water, place the cups, dump in the coffee, and push the button. It brews very quickly. No carafe to wash, either. We decided to get the Gold Tone filter to use instead of disposable paper filters, so that makes two things to wash out in the morning, but still a small price to pay for being environment-friendly. The cups keep the coffee hot for a pretty long time – almost too long for me! The lid is well-designed, too. Just make sure you press it down tightly or it’ll dribble out. The coffee does come out unevenly when you’re making two cups, just by a little, but not enough to worry about one overflowing. I’m about to order a new one – ours just broke because I dropped it from a height of four feet and it just couldn’t take that kind of abuse. I like this coffee maker so much I am willing to wait to have it shipped all the way to Hawaii rather than buy a different appliance locally that I could have today.
