Received this as a gift but the handle on the carafe is cracked and looks extremely cheap. The cost for replacement carafes is unreasonably high. Black and decker wants to charge $24 plus tax and shipping for a replacement carafe. I might as well purchase an entirely new coffee maker.

Biggest pet peeve of our old Mr Coffee and other coffee makers is the incessant beeping. Beeping when it finishes brewing, beeping when it turns off. Always beeep beeeeep beeeeep beeeeeeeep. Calm down, I’m hardly awake. I don’t need a beep to know you’re done. This coffee maker doesn’t make a sound. It just minds its business, brews a pot quickly and quietly and then keeps my precious cup of joe nice and hot. Sleek design, easy to program. Vortex definitely makes a difference in the brewing process. Very satisfied all around.

This is a reasonably priced coffee maker with just enough useful features. The vortex head really does saturate the coffee grounds more evenly to provide more flavor. I would certainly buy this product again. I hope this Black and Decker brand lasts 10 years like my previous Hamilton Beach brand did!
