I was mentally ready to return this item after having trouble with other purchases I made recently but I am so impressed, I wanted to sit down and write a review while enjoying my coffee. I read all the reviews before buying and can’t understand how some of them are complaining about the quality of this product. It is on the cheaper end in the spectrum, what more can you expect from a, by the time I am writing this review, $15 product? It is definitely not your typical cheap overseas product. Hourglass is a brilliant touch and accurate too (yes, I timed it 2:59.08). The lid is a bit wobbly but I can’t complain. Also, it comes with 2 extra filters.

Bought this because of the timer in the handle. Makes good coffee but I have found the skeletal plastic holder to be difficult to clean and when full, the handle bends away from the glass quiet a lot. The inside of the handle has vertical ribs that make holding the coffee maker uncomfortable. The nut that holds the filter layers together is not fixed to the bottom plate; could be easily lost. I would like to return this item, but I have already recycled the original box.

Cleaning can be a bit of a pain because the handle with the timer is glued to the glass. I decided to remove this. Upon doing so, the glass and handle unit are no longer as secure, but this easy to accommodate for.

This French press coffee maker is easy to use! It’s big enough to make at least 3, sometimes even 4 cups of coffee. The built-in sand timer is convenient and flips easily within the handle to start. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because, when you put hot water in to start the brewing process, the black plastic casing around the glass begins to expand and come a bit loose. The glass does not come out, but pouring the coffee does feel a bit awkward due to the loosness…. all in all a great product though, especially for the price!!
