   This review is based on one week’s usage–take that for what its worth. It is effective, it heats the water and passes it through the ground coffee beans in the filter. The filter is nice; no paper filter needed. It is as advertised–a basic, functioning water heating device. One drawback is the lack of auto shutoff. While it is sold as a “feature”: “no special programming or settings to complicate the coffee maker function”. Right. It is so simple it doesn’t shut off by itself. Understand that, and you should be very happy with this purchase. Go to bed forgetting to shut it off and the pic is what you’ll wake up to. I purchased this to travel out of town for a couple of weeks and it is well worth the money for that purpose.

    This is exactly what I needed. My old coffee maker was just too large for my small counter space and I was really tired of instant coffee! This not only is the perfect size, it brews rather quickly, there is plenty of room to fill the water tank, and the filter does its job of keeping the grounds in. NOTE: the first pot I made the full 5 cups and put in 3 coffee scoops of coffee. I like my coffee bold but this was too strong. The second pot I brewed with 2 scoops and it was perfect! FOLLOW UP: 2 scoops were Perfect and made a fantastic pot of fresh coffee!

    I had a B&D 6 cup and broke the carafe. But replacing it was more than half the cost of a whole new machine. This is sad and probably because the tempered glass is the most expensive part. However, after searching I found the Elite Gourmet that was cheaper and smaller footprint than my B&D and any of the others I saw on coffeemakers.us.com. It had good reviews so I decided to get it. When it arrived everything looked good. I initially ran a pot of water through it and saw how fast it heated up. I was really surprised. I do like that this one has a warmer although I don’t really need it and it’s just one more thing if I forget to turn it off m, that I have to worry about burning. There’s is not safety cut off. But after I brewed the first pot of coffee I noticed that it was really short. My old one would be 1/2 cup off. So if I wanted 3 cups I had to put 3.5 cups of water. But with this one I have to put a full cup more than what is shown on the markers. Either someone doesn’t know how to measure or this thing evaporates a lot of water. See pics. Also the water brewing arm inside gets in the way if you have the pot and brew basket holder inserted at the same time. The little brew stopper spring (that is nice), keep the basket from sitting flush and the lid will not close (see video). You have to hold it down while closing the lid. This is a pain. It’s not a deal breaker but definitely loses a star. This is a $12 coffee pot at best. Not a $23 one. More thought and engineering should have went in to its design. Not sure about longevity, but we shall see.

    Lid too low to trigger Sunbeam to drip.

    Same carafe though. It still drips unexpectedly when pouring at first.

    Moral of the story …
    If I’d kept the old lid, I’d have a choice of this black machine or my original 7yo white Sunbeam on the countertop.

    Oooooooeeeee is this thing tiny. It will make 2 cups at a time. Have no idea how they get 5! Lol. Total deception. I’m going to keep it though because there’s only 2 coffee drinkers here. If I want to make an additional pot it’s easy peezy. I like the fact I don’t have to buy coffee filters although I just did a day ago right when my other coffee maker kind of broke. To be honest I wouldn’t have gotten this at all had I known the little spring loaded button that sits on top of the coffee pot lid attached to the coffee filter basket would actually not cause any issues with it being popped off. Only issue helpful if you plan on taking the pot out and pour a cup while it is making a pot. Eh. This little thing will come in handy at some point. At this time I’m just going to keep using my old one until it dies.

    Pro: I like the convenience of being able to start coffee at any time(so long percolator n you have an echo plug ). This one uses regular size filters, too. I also like having the water level window on the right hand side. Con: The only thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t automatically pause if not done percolating. I keep an old microwave glass tray underneath incase I forget that it won’t stop.

    I would have given this a 1 star, but the temperature is good and hot, and it seems to hold the heat for a long time, so I gave it a 2.
    I do NOT like the pot. At all. The spout is too far in from the body and it’s a small spout. This makes it hard to keep from spilling when pouring and it always leaks. Didn’t matter if it was a slow or fast pour – dripples all over – when pouring into a cup or into the water basin.
    I get that it’s trying to be “compact”, but with the water chamber having a small width and the awful pot, it always spills when trying to fill the chamber. If using something other than the pot, it might be “ok”, but still not impressed. The small width also makes it hard to clean, if grounds or other things get into the water chamber., even smaller hands is difficult.
    It is VERY loud, when finishing. So, if you are trying not to wake other members of your house (or the office in my case), good luck.
    Not happy.

    Like: programable for delayed brew on a digital clock display. Small size so doesn’t take much counter space. Brews quickly. Turns itself off after an hour or two.

    Cons: the filters suggested for it are a little.too tall so the spray arm pushes filter edge in and if it is a full basket the grounds can go into the pot. I always manually push the spray arm over the basket before closing the lid. This one came with a small changeable filter. But it did not make a difference in the taste for our water. It also had to be manually placed or the water reserve lid would not close properly.

    The coffee, if used as instructed, is not strong enough for my preference ans there is no strength adjustment. I am going to keep it. It cleans easily and does the job. I just use more coffee or grind it finer.

    Omg this is such a cheap and great pot. I’ve been using everyday twice a day once in the morning and once at night for my husband for night shift. Idk why but there is just something about a regular, no fuss coffee pot you know what im sayin? Other pots have too many fancy options and buttons and honestly they seem pointless to me the results the same either way you get coffee. Why pay big bucks for something when you can achieve what you need with this? It works well and last thing I’ll say is since it’s only my husband and I, but we drink it at different times every day, so technically it’s just one person making coffee for just themselves, the size is absolutely on point. We don’t need a 12 cup pot. This size is great for one to two people and it doesn’t take up much counter space at all. It also looks cute bc it is smaller.
