   You have to extensively clean after every grind, if you are planning to have whole beans and grind once a day forget about it. The grinder gets clogged up after every use and you have to set it to grind , open the filter and remove the cup and hopefully pick at the packed up coffee grounds in time and hope it un clogs. For 100 dollars I cannot complain about what I was hoping for.

It works great – grinds, brews, programs, keeps warm, reusable filter, even has a special aroma function. But the carafe leaks – it is my pet peeve with coffee makers – puts a damper on the whole experience when I have to then clean up the counter.

   I tried 2 of these coffee makers. Great set of options and makes wonderful coffee, but after a week the grinder clogged on both of them. You don’t know this until you get a pot of brown water instead of coffee. Cleaning the clog required taking the unit to the sink and dumping everything out sideways and then using a butter knife to clear it. I was unable to clear it with the brush included or in an ‘upright’ position. Too much hassle for me. Bought a different coffee maker.

   This Galanz 2-in-1 Grind and Brew Coffee Maker with Adjustable Grind Size was acquired as a gift for my husband, who is the only coffee drinker in our household. This is his assessment. The Galanz coffee maker performs admirably. It is easy to set up and use. The instruction manual is clear and concise. I have not yet used the grinder. According to the instructions, it appears to be simple to use. All of the buttons function properly. Cleaning is simple thanks to the removable filter. It is also possible to use a paper filter. The coffee tastes good and is hot. A full 12 cup pot took less than 10 minutes to brew. This coffee maker matches with the rest of my kitchen appliances, which is a plus. There is a function to set a start time so it is ready when you wake up for those who are short on time in the morning. The only disadvantage to this coffee maker is that the water must be filled in the back. Because I have cupboards above my countertop, I have to pull out this coffee maker in order to access the water reservoir and fill it.

   The product looks great but when used it has a lot to be desired. Grinder works great for about 3 weeks then stopped grinding coffee all together. No matter what I did it would not grind the beans had to resort to pre ground coffee. When I checked the return window I missed it by 3 days so I had to purchase a new coffee maker (Different Brand of course) but it was a bad experience and this is a good company to purchase from but if you’re looking for a grind and brew coffee maker avoid this one

   This is a very well-made 2-in-1 Grind and Brew Coffee Maker from Galanz and I absolutely love it. I have been using a KEURING DUO for the last year and I quite like it. I needed a second coffee machine though that can both grind and brew and offer programming features so that I can set it up and forget about it. This Galanz coffee maker ended up being perfect for this job. Setting this coffee maker up for the first time was very straightforward thanks to the detailed user manual as well as the illustrations on the box itself. You have the option to put coffee beans which the machine will grind for you, or you can also put coffee ground directly if you have that instead. There’s a button, as shown in the pictures, for you to choose whether you put beans or pre-ground. You then choose the number of cups, the desired strength, and/or the time. I really like this flexibility. One of my absolute favorite things about this coffee maker is the “aroma” feature and I don’t know how they do this. But the coffee ends up being so smooth yet flavorful when I activate this option! I don’t quite understand how this works. I put the same ground coffee in my KEURING DUO and on similar settings, but the coffee is never as smooth or flavorful as I get it out of the Galanz WITH that aroma feature on. If you end up getting this coffee maker, I highly encourage you to give that aroma option a try! I would have liked it if this coffee maker offered a k-cup option as well, this way I could possibly use it as my only coffee maker, but there’s no k-cup option, unfortunately. Also, the built material could maybe be improved a bit. It feels plasticky. I didn’t find this to be a big problem since the coffee machine is operating well and won’t need to be moved much, etc. I found that this glass carafe spills a lot, unfortunately. If you pay attention while pouring your coffee and do it slowly, however, you might be able to avoid spills. Overall, this is a good affordable 2-in-1 Grind and Brew Coffee Maker. It might not be perfect, but for this price, it does a good job. I can’t stress how much I love its “aroma” feature. The spillage is annoying but can be minimized with enough care and slow handling.

    We bought this thinking it looked great and worked well. First, when pouring a cup coffee it drips and spills all over the place, bad design it seems. The grinder is not easy to clean and does not allow the correct amount of coffee grinds so the coffee looks like dirty water. We don’t even use the grinder anymore and have resorted to just using ground coffee. It’s passed our return date so we will be buying a different coffee maker. I would not recommend this product.

    “Well done” is my first impression of the Galanz coffeemaker. Setup was straightforward and you are confronted with many decisions about how to make your coffee. That’s it, once you decide how to brew your coffee (or how you like your coffee brewed) you setup the machine and forget it. For full disclosure purposes, I have been using my Breville Grind and Brew for almost 10 years without a hiccup and love it. With the Galanz machine, you can grind the beans and then brew, or just add ground coffee and brew away. Filling the water reservoir was easy-the glass carafe did not spill everywhere while decanting the water into the reservoir unlike many carafes I have used. One less frustrating event with this machine! After running clear water through one cycle, the reservoir was refilled, I added beans to the hopper, and set it for full strength (3 beans on the display), adjusted the bean size to “6” which was somewhat fine, and enabled the “aroma” button. The machine uses a #4 paper filter or you can use the “permanent” filter which I do not like. The permanent filter is perfectly fine, and it brews coffee similar to the French Press method in which there are many “fines” in the brew. One watchout: once your brew a pot and before your refill the reservoir, make sure you power the machine “off” or it will heat and dispense hot water as you are refilling the reservoir. A bit of a mess but it was only clear, hot water. Easy cleanup. There is a “steam vent” on the top which works quite well and is a great design feature. Watchout #2: The coffee basket has a “valve” that purportedly will stop the liquid from continuing if you pull the carafe out to get an early cup. Normally, this works well, unless, like me you allowed the coffee grounds to escape the filter and pour through the basket blocking the gasket on the basket valve. Watchout #3: Unlike my Breville, when I set the pot to “4 cups” it only refers to the amount of ground coffee it will dispense into the basket. You must then limit the amount of water to 4 cups added into the reservoir. I set it for 4 cups and filled the reservoir to capacity and, yes, it brewed all 12 cups of water. I filled the carafe with 4 cups and the level in the reservoir was a bit less than 4 cups, so adjust accordingly. Strength: the “3 beans” strength was super strong for me and quite unexpected. I then brewed with strength setting of “1 bean,” aroma setting “on,” with the grind size dialed to “5” and the result was closer to what I like, perhaps a bit strong. I then turned off the “aroma” setting and brewed another 4 cups. With aroma setting “off” I could tell the brew was a bit less robust. As such, I will continue to use the “aroma” setting “on” and enjoy the coffee from the Galanz machine. This machine has many settings, and it may be a bit tedious to setup to get the brew you want if you are using whole beans. Once it is set up, you can then forget about the settings and brew away. Note: For brewing ground coffee, most of the settings are moot and it is easy to make a few adjustments to get the brew you like. Bottom Line: With the various settings, you can fine tune your coffee brewing to fit what you like. I would classify this machine as more to the coffee lover who demands more than the average coffee drinker. There’s no need to be intimidated with all the settings available. And most importantly, the carafe does not spill everywhere when you dispense coffee or use it to fill the reservoir!!!

    Great coffee maker/grinder combo unit. I love the modern design with the stainless steel and the sharp lines. The unit works as advertised, providing a convenient, one stop shop for my morning coffee needs. The bean hopper is easy to access at the top. Most importantly, this coffee maker and grinder combo unit doesn’t make a mess like other similar products do. Grinds don’t get all over the place. You can adjust the grind to your liking. The machine itself is easy to figure out without having to study the manual. Well, everything is easy to figure out except for one little detail – do not add more water than how much coffee you intend to brew! The coffee maker will brew as much coffee as you have water in the reservoir, regardless of how many cups of coffee you tell it to make. The machine only asks you how many cups to brew in order to determine how much coffee to grind, but it doesn’t control how much water is added/brewed. This is the reason I took of one star. For the price, around $199 at the time of writing, I was really hoping it would have this feature. It would really solidify the feature set of this coffee maker. Otherwise its a great machine that brews tasty morning coffee without making a mess, and by eliminating the need for having an additional countertop appliance in order to grind coffee beans. Its attractive, easy to use, and effective. Purchase with confidence.

    This unit is reasonably compact compared to other models with grind/brew capability and is a good price. It makes great tasting coffee. The only slight negative is that if you use beans that are a bit oily as many specialty flavored beans are, then the beans do not always flow smoothly into grinder because they can “stick” to the ramp where beans slide in. The instruction manual advises to not use oily beans, and I suspect this is why. I did not have this problem with my old model and think that a slight design modification such as increasing the slope of the ramp and allowing more space between the ramp and the protective cover would likely address the issue. Nonetheless, it still works fine as long as I keep an eye on it when grinding and give the beans a little push if they start sticking. If you use regular beans that are not oily, this will probably never be an issue for you. All things considered, I still highly recommend this machine.

    We’ve had this unit for over 2 years. It works great, though the finest grind is still a course grind. Pre ground coffee from the grocery store has a finer grind then this unit can grind.

    Another issue with it is the lid. The lid doesn’t fit straight on, it is a bit crooked. This causes coffee to pour all over the counter. I didn’t return it at the time as we needed a new coffee maker and didn’t want to be without while we waited for a replacement. I didn’t’ think it was that big of a deal, but after 2+ years of having to pour it over the sink every morning to so as not to spill all over the counter, has become tedious.

    Everything works well, just wish it would make a finer grind, and lid fit properly.

    Worst coffee maker ever. The water tank is so narrow that you have to pour water very slowly. The coffee pot isn’t designed correctly so when you pour in a cup it goes everywhere. The grinder broke after 6 months. We fixed it once and it broke again. Don’t waste your money.

    Just an awesome machine. Makes a great cup of coffee. I had a regular coffee maker and an electric grinder. I was tired of the mess and hassle. I wanted the coffee house taste and I was not getting it. This thing delivers. Totally. It holds my beans, up to 6.5 ounces. I can change the level of coarseness in the grinding from fine to coarse. Choose the cups you want and it automatically measures the beans and grinds them up. It has a strength selection and an aroma selection that somehow makes it so flavorful. My only complaint is the door swings open to the left and I need to do a little rearranging. A wonderful coffee maker and I’m so pleased. Honestly I can’t believe I have it in my home. It’s like something at a coffeeshop. I’ll never go back to the old crappy machine.

    I love technology ! New stuff , new options that make your life easier and pleasure to experiment the things you thought was not possible in the past . New phones , new tablets . Rechargeable dog leash ? A year ago if you asked me this I would have laughed at you , but now I have a rechargeable water filter . Seriously … But I also believe in one thing that does a lot more then what its suppose to . A regular coffee machine is just a big , unnecessary bulk in the already small kitchen counter if you ask me . But for a very long time we were debating with my partner . He likes a big pot of coffee ( let me remind you , only he drinks it . Gets cold and he reheats it , gross . I know . ) . I want to purchase se one of those euro tech coffee machines that does all kinds of coffees with a touch on the beautiful screen . Till then this was a “ NO “ . Until i saw this one . Online and in person it does and doesn’t look like those 12 cup coffee machines . Love the touchscreen feature . ( Can’t help it ,I know ! ) It was fairly easy to start and brew for the first time . Was super excited . I was going to make my partner happy and in return , I was going to look at a beautiful coffee machine , not an eyesore … First cup of coffee , which we buy French roast from Starbucks , it was beyond weak . I read all the reviews . Some people said it makes a nice , strong cup of coffee , some do complaint ! I see why now . Even though the instruction booklet it well written , still kinda confusing . After a few play and experiencing it , we finally realized the know or dial ,whatever you call it , should be on 6 , as you can see it on the picI shared .1 Being light , 6 must be the strongest . We now also buying espresso beans from Starbucks , and he is happy . Cant stop bragging about it . One thing I truly do not wrap my head around . There is a hole behind the machine where the water reservoir is . I assume its a whole to hook up a water pipe or something for easy filling ? It’s odd … Don’t get me wrong the water does not come out from the whole . But if you mistakenly fill the tanka it more then you should , keep your towels around . After couple of months using , as it was a new house gift ( just recently moved ! ) , we are happy with it . You can adjust the flavor ,grinding size , can program for whenever you want it start to brew . All bells and whistles . You too can use pre ground beans . Didn’t want to write a review asap for this machine . Wanted to have some experience first . After using this for a while , I honestly can say “ I love this machine “ .     This is by far the best coffee maker I’ve ever owned. The entire experience from unboxing to drinking the coffee has been fantastic. There is zero assembly, the unboxing process is just pulling it out and taking a couple piece of tape off that hold everything in place. As soon as you plug it in the beautiful display lights up. This thing is so easy to use I was able to set the time and brew a pot of coffee without reading the instructions. You start by filling the hopper on top with beans. I’ll also mention the hopper has a rubber seal to hold the lid on so for the most part it should be air tight and safe to keep your beans without fear of them losing flavor/aroma. Then you pour the water in the back, you have to pre measure your water because no matter how many cups you tell it to brew it will use all of the water you put in the tank. Also, here is the only negative mark I can give this coffee maker, the opening for pouring water is very thin. I would recommend using a funnel or pitcher with a narrow pour to put water in it. I used the carafe the first time and got water everywhere. After you fill the water you select how many cups to brew, your strength, then hit start. It will automatically grind the appropriate amount of beans (you can also adjust the grind coarseness), then brew you coffee. I like to use the highest strength setting. This is not a 1 minute brew, it takes its time to make a fantastic pot of coffee. I have not timed it but I would estimate at least 10 minutes for a full pot at full strength. The coffee it makes is excellent, way better than any other drip maker I’ve used. The only thing that even comes close is a french press with fresh ground beans. The included reusable filter is easy to clean, dump the grinds into the trash then rinse with water and you are good to go for your next pot of coffee. I am incredibly happy with this coffee maker, and I also happen to own a Galanz brand fridge that I keep my drinks in downstairs. It is just as great as this coffee maker. Don’t sleep on Galanz, they make some really great stuff and someday could be a household name.

    I never knew how much better freshly ground coffee was than pre ground store bought was. This coffee maker/grinder is the next best thing to sliced bread.
