   This works like it should. It makes a good cup of coffee that isn’t weak and watery. I previously tried a french press for a single cup of coffee. To me, a french press requires too much ground coffee for a single cup and requires more cleanup. This uses the same ratio of coffee per cup as our Mr. Coffee but does a great job of quickly making a single cup.
   I had considered the oxo version, but preferred GoodCook’s black (which would hide coffee stains) vs Oxo’s white. It seems like it’s really good quality and was a little more than half the price.

   The first time I used this coffee dripper, the coffee overflowed the dripper. The opening in the bottom of the dripper was mostly closed. I used a pointed knife to open the dripper completely. With the dripper open, it does not overflow. Note that this does not refer to the tank, but the dripper that the tank flows into.

   The instructions don’t explain but if you use this with the measurements as written, you’ll get concentrated cold coffee that is bitter in taste. I filled up the basket and filled the carafe with water, left in the fridge for about 24 hours. The result was a concentration that would require about a 1-to-1 dilution with cold water to get a good cold brew coffee drink. You should look up some proportion recipes for the kind of brew you want. You can use this to make it at a weaker ratio but the coffee grounds would float more. This carafe is good for making iced tea or coffee at various proportions, you’ll have to experiment. The filter basket is pretty good at keeping most of the grounds from leaking through bur it is not perfect. It also floats up a little and ends up tilting inside the glass, and the lid holds it down. If you want to haw cold brew coffee on standby, this is a good pitcher to prepare a good amount to keep in the fridge.

   I have tried many pour over methods. This one is the best. I think the coffee tastes excellent. The only thing I would be concerned with is the plastic but they say it’s BPA free so hopefully that’s true. The coffee has a wonderful taste every time and clean up is perfect.

   If it were not for one design flaw this would have been great. The lid has tiny notched and bumps that must align to secure the lid in place and the torque on the narrow neck is dependent upon one screw. After a couple months of use the required force on the screw gave way and the item is useless after the threads of the screw would no longer twist the plastic. I contacted the company and they said not to twist it so hard; seriously how do you get it off if you don’t twist it hard enough to remove it. They offered to replace the unit if I mailed it to them. The postage was prohibitive. I offered to send pictures as above but they said it was their only offer. So why pay for another faulty designed product!!!    Makes strong coffee ! I love my afternoon ice coffee and usually make it in the pot the day before this is very similar but you just put the grounds and water in and let it sit for 18 hours. I like that this is glass and doesn’t take up much room in the fridge and it’s easy to wash out. I have been using this for almost a week and have been doing some adjusting with the amount of coffee grounds so it tastes good to me and not as strong. I wash the carafe and top in the dishwasher but the basket and lid by hand that way it will last. This is a nice little set up for ice coffee.

    The Bialetti cold coffee brewer is a great hassle-free way to get near perfect cold brew coffee in your home, one that matches the premium brand brews sold in stores. If you’ve had a cold brew coffee before then you know how different it is and if you haven’t – Think of it as Cold Coffee’s cooler cousin. Unlike hot brewed coffee which uses heat to extract coffee , the cold brew method uses time & patience to extract it at room temperature over a 18-24 Hour period . The resulting coffee concentrate has a very different taste profile – Its sweet and does not taste bitter and also very ‘smooth’ than regular coffee. You’ll need little to no sugar with it and goes equally well with cold coffee or hot milk DESIGN & BUILD – Cold Coffee brewers are designed mainly to take out the hassle out of a process which otherwise accomplish with stuff you already have in the kitchen and this brewer excels at that – The main jar of the brewer is made of dishwasher safe glass with an airtight cap (very important to get a max. strength concentrate) – The basket filter to hold the coarse coffee grounds is large and more importantly wide .. much wider than the ones you find in a Takeya or Hario Brewer. This allows the coffee grounds to be loosely packed and float more freely enabling better coffee extraction – The filter basket features a steel mesh to hold in the coffee grounds which works well in holding them back , although depending on the type of grounds or grinder you use , it will not hold fine coffee dust and additional filtration may be necessary – It produces coffee concentrate which is good for about 12-14 cups of coffee MY PERSONAL RECIPE Coffee is art and you’ll find a lot of variations in the different methods of making a cold brew and after a lot of experimentation and wasted coffee grounds – Here is the one that I think that produces little drops of heaven: – For example, the included manual says that you can let the coffee brew for 12-18 hours either at room temperature or in the refrigerator. However I feel that brewing at room temperature (not more than ~75F though) for a FULL 24 hours works best. Just leave it on the kitchen stand – Another thing that the instructions say is that open the lid and agitate the mixture by rotating the filter basket a few times every 4 hours. Well, DONT ! This is a sealed system that should not be opened until you ready to drink coffee (after about 24 hours). By opening the lid you are letting all that gaseous aroma out which would have otherwise infused with the concentrate . I just shake the whole sealed jar instead – You can absolutely use your favorite fine ground coffee but it makes filtration necessary (most of the coffee that makes through the steel mesh will settle down after 24 hours though) – At the end you get beautiful , full of aroma and smooth tasting coffee concentrate . – For hot coffee use a 1 : 1 ratio of water and coffee concentrate and for cold coffee use 1 : 2 ratio of water and concentrate. Dilute as required to your personal preference – Just keep in mind that cold coffee brewing uses a lot of coffee grounds – you get less coffee concentrate per pound of ground coffee than you would with hot brewing. But the difference in taste makes it worthwhile… FINAL THOUGHTS Overall the Bialetti cold coffee brewing system gives you near perfect cold brew coffee which compares better than a Takeya or Hario brewer and I feel only the OXO brewer beats its when it comes to cold brewing , but that’s a tad bit more expensive than the Bialetti. Hard to go wrong with it.

    So the idea behind this is that the pour will be even across all the grounds. First time trying it and it works well. The good thing is that it uses the standard coffee filters so that’s great instead of needing to buy proprietary filters that only fit that product. Can’t complain about it as it does a nice job and you know how much you are pouring since you can see it in the top container. Definitely good!

    I might be the first person to give this a 5-Star review who DIDN’T get it for free via the coffeemakers.us.com Vine program. I like it just because I like it. I use it in my van build. Boil water, pour over using a paper filter (no water needed to clean up after) and enjoy. I like that the clear water vessel has ounce markers on it so I can see how much water to add from the kettle.

    This pour over coffee dripper is excellent: good quality, dark brown color (and so does not stain), large reservoir that drips at the perfect rate, and the cone does not clog. It lacks a lid for the reservoir to keep heat in while it’s dripping, but I have another brand that does have a lid and I never use it. I don’t need the coffee to be thermal hot when I drink it, a little heat loss is not a problem, and I add cream anyway. This is so much better than a French press, which is a pain to clean, or a drip coffee maker, which is a pain to clean and clutters up the countertop. This can be stashed away with the coffee mugs. Perfect for a one-cup at a time household, and if you want two cups at a time, buy two cones.

    I used to work for a major retailer who sold GoodCook kitchen products and I can’t ever recall seeing the brand any place else. I was always a fan of how well their stuff was made and that it was always well priced. I have other things of this brand in my kitchen to this day still going strong. I’m glad to see they’ve expanded. Of the brewers on the market, this is up there with the better made. First of all, the glass is thick compared to most and the plastic outline is thick and girthy as well. It’ll definitely handle repeated use. I tested it with some older coffee the other night and here’s what I found. 1) No matter how fine they claim the filter is, you’re going to have grounds in your brew if you use regular ground coffee. Unless you buy yours coarsely ground already, you might as well go ahead and get you a coffee grinder. 2) The coffee I brewed was bitter as heck. Now obviously, this is user error and has nothing to do with the caliber of the product. This is one of those instances where you just need to know what you’re doing. I brewed for 24 hours and could possibly stand to cut my brewing time as I don’t like super strong coffee. I also used older/stale coffee (which some recommend for cold brew) and this could be poor advice. and error for you. 3) No matter your brewing time, cold brew coffee has more caffeine so be careful. Nonetheless, dilution is a fuzzy area. Diluting too little could make you sick and still leave the coffee too strong. Diluting too much could make it too weak. This could take some testing to get right. Either way, you want to get the most out of the coffee. Coffee is pricey and at a cup per liter needed to brew, so you’re looking at some expensive trial and error for sure. My overall experience with the product itself is that it brews very well if used correctly. Like I said, unless you’ve used one of these before and found that “sweet spot”, it’s going to take some figuring out. My advice is to do as much research as you can and what will work best with your preferences. Youtube vids are a good go-to. Bottomline, after you discover the right combination, you’ll end up saving tons of money on cold brew coffee. If you’re interested in that, buy it!

    I have a few pour-over accessories, but this is the first I’ve owned that has an auto-drip feature and I LOVE it. I can’t believe I was standing around and pouring the hot water myself, over and over, until now. With this GoodCook Koffē Auto Drip Pourover kit, the clear top in the photo is where you place the water and it has two great features: small holes that let the water drip slowly, to properly give the grounds enough time to release flavor into the hot water and measuring lines so you know exactly how much water your putting through the grounds, from 8-16 ounces I’ve used mine with a mug, a travel thermos and a large carafe. All worked great. I like my coffee dark, so I was worried the water would go through too quickly, but as long as I put in enough grounds and don’t grind them overly fine, I get a great cup of coffee every time. It comes with a few starter filters of the cone variety, but I was also able to use basket style filters too—no issues. 👍

    As a coffee addict, I was very worried when packing for a Summer music Festival when I saw that no glass was allowed on the list. This is a super easy way to meet your morning coffee addiction without having to use glass. You simply insert one of the small size two cones into the top part, mad your coffee grounds, and pour your boiling water into the grounds. Your coffee drips directly into your mug. This is definitely a lifesaver for camping or festivals where you do not want to risk broken glass. I would definitely order this again — it has become an integral part of my camping gear

    I really liked this and it was not cheap but the glass has cracked along the base of the cold brewer within 6 months.
    The water was lukewarm when poured into the glass container and left to go cold before I placed it in the fridge. to me the integrity of the glass really is disappointing.
