   Every time I brew coffee the paper cloggs the hole . My 20 year old one never did. D Tried to insert filter as well as I can but no way. It clogs every time. Throwing this thing in the dumpster n looking for something else. If there’s anything that’s built like my old one I’ll be lucky. Nothing is built to be made with care. Bad design coffee canaster is square on one side n round on the other side. Coffee filters are round . One side is higher than the other. Filter snags on short side. Top is not sealed so steam causes water to drip down the sides. Rubber gasket in stopper doesn’t sit tight coffee drips if u pull out coffee canaster. Just bad design crap

   I used this coffee maker to replace an older one that I had. It works great and is perfect for small space living. You cannot use K-cups with this coffee maker, only coffee grind. Also, with the small size, you would need to use mini coffee filters. Regular sized ones get scrunched and will cause coffee grind to go through into the pot. I really like the feature of being able to pour the water in the front instead of the back. This makes having it stationed under your cabinet very easy to use. To brew, you simply switch the button on the bottom on. Leaving it on will keep the coffee warm and when you are done you simply turn it back off. It states that it can make 5 cups, however, if you fill to the 5 mark, it leaks out of the spout. I would recommend only filling to the 4 or 4.5 cup mark. It brews decently fast and is ready within a few minutes. The taste is how it should be, based on your choice of grind and how strong you want it. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a small, simple coffee maker and would also be great for travelling.

   I just used this coffee maker for the first time today and it’s working well and makes great tasting coffee. This is a smaller coffee maker to save space and it only makes a maximum of 5 cups. This coffee maker is perfect for making my wife a small pot of coffee in the morning as she only drinks a few cups. I really like how small and compact it is and saves a lot of space on the counter in the kitchen. Also the little top fill part is nice as I can keep it near the back of the counter under the cabinets and it won’t have to be moved out toward the edge of the countertop. It’s also pretty quiet when making a fear cups of coffee and it makes it quickly. There is no programmable part on this coffee maker it’s just a simple on off switch. I think this coffee maker would work well in apartments that have small kitchens or maybe a college dorm room as its really small and saves space. I would recommend this coffee make it works well.

   I need a coffee maker that is narrow (in width) so that I can also place a small toaster oven on my office desk. I have Mr. Coffee 5 Cup Coffee Maker, but its width is wider than this Hamilton Beach Coffee Maker. I prefer Hamilton Beach’s coffee maker over Mr Coffee coffee maker: 1. Narrow Width. It is narrower than Mr. Coffee. See the picture, it is taller, but height doesn’t matter for my need. 2. Front Fill. You pour the water from the front and not the back (as Mr. Coffee). I spill often when I tried to pour the water from the back. This is a brilliant idea! Very convenient. 3. Hot Coffee. I was mildly surprised by the temperature of the coffee it made. Perhaps, because it is new, it makes a hot coffee. But I do not recall Mr Coffee being hot (when I bought it new). Definitely, if you need a small coffee maker that is slim/narrow in width, then this is the best bet. Recommended!

   Pros: Lightweight & Easy to Carry Small & compact (can fit anywhere) Makes up to 5 cups (no wasting coffee& u will always have it fresh) Makes the coffee fast Easy to use & clean Cons: There really are no cons, I’m just sad that it doesn’t take k- cups. (Note: you will need to buy small filters) Overall, this is a well made, long lasting, product that I would definitely recommend.

    Good little coffee maker. Does what it says and the coffee is good. What I don’t like is that the front water intake area is very small and I have to be careful pouring water in, and I have to keep looking over to the side to make sure I don’t overfill. I would love a 6 cup coffee maker so I’m always trying to get a maximum fill without spill. Remember the cups are 5 ounces. And personally I like a two hour timer versus no timer but I like no timer better than a one hour timer! So it’s good on keeping coffee very hot! But need to remember to turn off. No timer keeps the price down. I decided not to spend a lot because all my coffee makers start leaking from the bottom after about a year!

    What’s to say? It’s a basic little maker that can make 2 good sized mugs of coffee. Following the directions, it makes a tasty brew. The basket removes easily for cleaning as does the lid on the carafe. Just remember to turn it off manually.

    This is a nice coffee maker, and I really like that the water reservoir is on the front of it. However, it has the same water leakage issues that the Hamilton Beach one that it replaced. Even if you hold the top of the carafe tightly closed with one hand, the water and coffee spill out. I never had these issues with a typical size coffee maker. It seems to be a problem with 4 cup coffee makers, regardless of the brand you choose. I live by myself, so I don’t need a typical size coffee maker. I’m keeping it with the acceptance that I need to clean up water and coffee leakage.

    This product is exactly what it says it is. It’s a compact coffee maker that holds up to 5 cups of water and one on/off button to help keep things simple. It brews fairly quick and you can load both the water and the coffee from the front which is very convenient if you live in a smaller space or would like to keep this coffee maker tucked under a cabinet or shelf. I think the front loading of the water is very cool. It also has the traditional water amount gauge on the side to let you know just how much you’ve put in. All in all this does exactly what it was designed to do and it does it very well. I would highly recommend this product for any office space or apartment and even a home office or man cave.     This coffee pot works well, except that the glass pot leaks everywhere as you pour the coffee out of it I also noticed the pause does NOT work an instead drips coffee down when you take the carafe away and it then burns onto the warmer plate.     I liked the design and quality of the current Hamilton Beach Compact Drip Coffee Maker. It is apparently smaller than my 12-cup coffee maker but has many other advantages. It is very quick in brewing coffee withing 4-6 minutes. It preserves the natural flavor of the coffee which I do not see in many midrange coffee makers. I ordered the model with a single on/off switch which is very handy and easy to use. It occupies much less space than my older coffee maker in the kitchen. This is critical when you have a smaller counter or when you want to place the coffee maker under cabinets. The FrontFill design of the water reservoir and the swing-open brew-basket design show the manufacturer’s thought for designing this coffee maker for compact kitchens and spaces. Filling water in the reservoir is very easy with almost no splash or leak. I also found that the basket can be lifted and washed in the dishwasher. The pot size is relatively small but is quite enough for brewing two medium to large cups of coffee. I am a little skeptical about the 5-cups capacity with a single brew. It also has the auto-shutoff option that is quite useful and safe when I forget to turn off the coffee maker. My overall experience with this Hamilton Beach compact drip coffee maker has been so positive so far. I enjoy the flavor of my coffee more than my previous coffee maker and surely, I get my coffee in much less time now!

    This is exactly what I was looking for! My old coffee maker, a 5 cup as well, recently broke and I had to replace it with one of the same size. So I found this little guy, it’s smaller, more compact and less bulky. Perfect for smaller spaces and just the right size for one or two people. The only thing that’s missing is an automatic off switch that my other one had. You just gotta be careful with this one and make sure to turn it off when finished using. Other than that, enjoy!

    Hace café bien pero tira demasiado café a los lados. Los filtros son difíciles de encontrar; sólo los encontramos en el HEB. Constantemente se doblan y se desparrama el café en el contenedor. Esto hace que se tape la salida del café y el café se queda todo en el contenedor, a menos de que manualmente lo liberes. Al menos dos veces a la semana tenemos algún inconveniente con la cafetera. La compramos hace un año y ya estamos bastante hartos del mugrero que hace.

    This unit does a good job producing a small pot of coffee within just a few minutes. At 5-cups maximum, it’s not something you’ll want in your kitchen for a family of coffee drinkers. But since I’m the only one in the house that drinks coffee, I like that it has a very small footprint on the counter but still produces a good couple mugs of coffee at a time. I added pictures of the small, single-cup brewer I have been using and this Hamilton-Beach is even smaller, which is great for saving counter space. The front-fill container for water is much handier than the usual rear-fill models; there is less chance of spilling water trying to fill it. The removable basket also makes cleaning up a breeze. And having the pause-and-serve on such a small, basic unit also is handy. Because there this is a very basic unit, hopefully, there is less to go wrong with it and it should last a good long time. One thing to note from a safety standpoint that I think is serious enough to cost it 1 star: there is no auto-shutoff for the warming plate. I mention that because many of us have become accustomed to these types of appliances having auto-off features that shut down something hot after an hour or two. I could see this potentially being a problem if you leave a small amount of coffee in the pot and forget to flip the power switch off. I think it’s a mistake for Hamilton-Beach not to include this basic safety feature. Other than that one flaw, though, I really like the way this coffee pot looks and functions.
