   It seems like a nice drip brewer. I think the problems that some reviewers have with “watery coffee” is a result of the amount of water used. For example, my Philips HD7810 produced relatively small “cups” of coffee using 4 oz for 1 cup, 8 oz for two cups. The outside of the box for this Hamilton Beach says that it is for 8-12 ounce cups and “brews an 8 oz cup in less than 3 minutes”. I don’t know for sure if it is bad to use less than 8 ounces at a time. This is one example of how instructions would be useful.. It also would be good to have some instructions about cleaning/descaling. Some coffee maker manufacturers advise using vinegar for that purpose while others specifically warn against using vinegar in their machines. When I tried to get the instructions from the Hamilton Beach site I got a warning that the site contains harmful programs.

   I discovered it in a hotel room. The room was cold so I used it for hot tea. Loved the speed. The Freshness of it. The convenience of it. Space saver for sure! My daughter ordered one to surprise me when I got home. Now I surprised her with one. If you are not a whole pot of coffee drinker, or you don’t want a big machine on your counter, this is your answer! Can be used for tea, any kind of coffee, looking now for hot chocolate that I can use in it. I think the flat pods are so much more biodegradable as well as space savers.

   Using identical pods (made using the same exact amount of coffee grounds), the Hospitality 1 cup coffee maker produced the tea-colored beverage, while my original combination unit delivered the correct formulation. The newer version of the single cup brewer by Hamilton Beach performs as abysmally as the Hospitality version. Only the combo unit does a good job with the pods. Frankly, for a single cup of coffee, and I hate to say this but, a Mr. Coffee Junior delivers the most flavor given the same amount of coffee and water.

   I needed a coffee maker for camping. I chose this one due to the 500w heater because I’ll be powering it with a Jackery 500. It brewed a perfect cup of coffee in just a few minutes. Output was 425 watts, and my battery life was at 96% afterwards. Based on other reviews, I was worried about the strength of the coffee. However, I had no issues. I used 1 cup of water and 1 Melitta pod (medium roast), and it came out nice and dark. This is great for our camping needs.

   I’m assuming you have to buy coffee pouches specific to the machine. Either way, I tried this at a hotel and the water just pours straight through the pouch. You get some nicely boiled yellow water. I got better results by just sticking the coffee pouch into the cup of hot water.

    I’m putting it in my air bnb so I hope it’ll hold up well. The maker seems fine as I tried brewing at home to make sure it’ll work. Some stated it stopped working over time but I will update if that’s the case. All seems fine for now and the coffee pods are easy better than Keurig sanitary wise

    Simple fast way to have a cup of coffee, not using a plastic pod! The tea bag like pod should have always been the way we did our one off coffees.

    I bought this so we could make a cup of coffee after dinner rather than make another entire pot. My husband and I like our coffee fairly strong. The first mug I made was like drinking lightly flavored water. I then made a second mug using only 1/2 mug of water. Coffee was still very weak. The HB brewer was very fast and I was excited to use it. Finally, I made a mug with 1/3 cup of water and 1 pod and it was good coffee. However, I see no point in making 1/3 cup of coffee and using one pod for it. Finally, as a last attempt, I tried using 2 pods for a mug and water spewed out all over the place. So, I learned not to use 2 pods at once. When I made a mug the next time, I used one pot and when it was through brewing, I took the pod out and put it in the coffee mug like I would a tea bag. After 3-4 minutes, it was strong enough to drink. I have now packed it up in the box for a future yard sale and bought a Keurig, which is absolutely fantastic.
