The espresso machine I had bought my husband last year for Christmas broke a few months after we had received it, and then our Keurig machine broke just a few months ago. I didn’t even know a keurig/expresso machine was possible! On one side it takes the Nespresso pods(when you lift the lid, the used pod falls into a little compartment that stores them and you throw them all away when it get full, since they are so tiny.)Then on the other side it takes K-Cups, but there’s also a brewing basket so you can use ground coffee. This thing is 100% amazing! These reviews had me a little worried because people said that it was really loud, or it took too long to make coffee. However in our experience that is not the case, it’s as loud as a regular Keurig machine, and it starts Brewing the moment you press the button(obviously the water does have to heat up, but that time is not very long). The water reservoir on the back is very large and I feel like I’m not having to add as much water as our previous Keurig machine.

I really liked the convenience of having a large range of options for my coffee.
That said: The nespresso pod part works but pods can become stuck so make sure you check before inserting a new one.
But the worst thing is that I turned the machine on this morning and was greeted with two blinking lights – of course this is not mentioned in the troubleshoot guide – and the machine is inoperable.
It worked fine the day before.
This is terrible quality. It is beyond terrible. It is downright unacceptable. I wish I could get my money back.

Expresso side was nonfunctional, apparently defective and without a piercing needle and water drained into back reservoir and not into coffee cup. Poorly constructed. Very overpriced. Poor communications with the Hamilton/Beach customer service department with no help in possible solutions to problem with this coffee maker. Returned it and purchased a beautiful “red” Keurig. The Keurig is about half the price, easy to set up, and makes wonderful coffee. Had previous Keurig for 10 years or so and it still worked. Should have never went with the H/B brand. Overpriced and defective. Keurig is by far the best on the market, in my opinion.

There were some hurdles getting it to work, initially, it once settled, it worked great, and both the coffee and espresso were wonderful. Terrific idea, having both Nespresso and K up brewing in a single machine. However, it’s loud as hell, and the espresso side stopped working after just less than one year of use.
