Excellent design, Caraeff stays hot (make sure you keep the lid locked after it is put back on as it lets heat out if you don’t.) They have done almost everything right here so I will move on to help those who have gotten too strong of spring (they vary in strength even from the same manufacture) in the coffee basket as shown in the video attached.
Holding the basket very gently pull the plunger/spring assembly out of the bottom of the basket working it back and forth. The white disk on the inside of the basket is very flexible and will pull off leaving you holding the spring assembly in your hand. the disk will have remained in the basket. Slide the spring onto a 3/8th bolt. Lay a 12 or 13mm wrench end on the spring on the bolt as shown in the picture. Heat the spring. As it turns red the spring will start to drop slowly. See picture. The heat will change the characteristics of the springs memory to match the new conditions created by the bolt/wrench/heat. Now, Holding the plunger/spring in through the bottom of the basket press the elastic white washer back onto the plunger stem. Slide the carafe back in under the basket as shown in the video and expect just a slight lifting of the basket if any at all, allowing fresh coffee to flow through the plunger now due to the slightly weaker spring. This is a saving grace! We just moved to a lake house and we get a lot of company so the single use coffee maker that we used to have, quickly was overwhelmed and gave up. This is perfect because when the big group is here, we make a pot of coffee. When it’s just one or two, we go single use. Coffee is lovely. Trick I’ve found with the single use coffee pods – only make it 10 ounces at a time. That’s when the coffee tastes the best (to me anyway, and on bold).

Looks great in our place, I like that I can brew with single cups, craft or my own ground single serve. Strong brew over ice makes the perfect iced coffee. One thing to be aware of is to not fill the single serve cup to the max. It will pop the lid of the single serve causing an error. Pleased with this purchase
