   I was skeptical of buying this due to all the bad reviews, but I’m glad I took the risk. It brews fast! 4 cups will brew in 2 minutes. In the picture I had brewed 14 in about 12 minutes. Now it is just keeping it warm.

   Update – stopped working, haven’t had it for a year. I take excellent care of it. I put water in, coffee in, press brew and nothing happens. At all. I unplugged it. I tried to see if it needed cleaned or something. Everything seems fine, it just simply stopped working. Very disappointed. And now I have to drive a half hour to town for coffee.

   My headline says it all about this unit. Previous maker was a budget Mr. Coffee with VERY accurate reviews about it dripping when pulling pot off warmer. It was a mess. I thought a drip or two would be a issue but it was a lot! So…started looking for a coffee maker again. Wife and I love our coffee so this one was a bonus at 14 cups(only one that I know if that has this capacity) Plus, we like the Hamilton Beach brand. So, it’s been a couple of weeks and MANY pots of coffee made and we really love the maker. Brews the 14 cups FAST and it looks great on the counter as well. While you can simply use the cone screen filter that comes with it, like most screen filters it’s a bit of a pain in the butt to get all the grounds washed out so we bought the specific cone style filters and they work great and makes clean up easier. Can’t recommend enough.

   It’s a good coffee maker. However, the carafe broke and the replacement has been “Out of Stock” for months now. Doesn’t make sense to buy somthing that the only glass component can’t be replaced.

   Easy to use, easy to clean. Unlike some coffee makers I have had, this is uncomplicated and has few “moving parts”. Cone shaped mesh basket requires less coffee to make a strong brew. I recommend using paper filters to make cleaning a little less messy. 14 cup capacity, programmable, warming plate has three temperature settings. nice user friendly design and function. Oh, and it makes good coffee.

   This model has the coffee filter in a door that swings open to put in the coffee. The latch usually lets go during the brew cycle and the door opens. I use a bungee cord to keep it closed.

   Love the size of this coffee maker, size of the pot, ease of making coffee. The pot is easy to pour from.
   However the latch that holds the front closed pops open during brewing and stops the coffee maker from finishing and gets grounds in the pot. Finally put a piece of duct tape to hold it close and even that’s not foolproof, too much steam and it lifts off and the front pops open again. Can’t figure out why the latch won’t hold during brewing.

    This coffee maker does a good job in nearly everything but nothing more. Though I really like how the flavor of the coffee comes out after making it. The experience was pleasant and I was able to brew my coffee without making a mess and it was relatively easy to use and clean afterwards. Although it gets the job done and doesn’t sacrifice too much. I dislike the fact that it doesn’t have an option to make only one cup of coffee because most of the time that’s all I need. So overall this is a good product that does everything pretty well but doesn’t have the features or quality to make it worth 5 stars.

    I really liked the first one that I had, but after 2 years it randomly started turning itself off before completing brewing. I thought it was a fluke so I just bought another. 2 years later EXACT same thing again! So you last 2 years, you get 2 stars.

    Time for a new coffee pot. It’s been about 5 years since we purchased the Mr. Coffee. It was a good run. I wasn’t looking for Hamilton Beach specifically. I sort of thought we’d just get another Mr. Coffee or something more high brow. We are quasi coffee snobs. My husband and I LOVE this Hamilton Beach 14-cup coffee maker!! The carafe has a huge handle on the side and my husband can get ALL of his fingers around it. I like that you can just keep it under the counter because the top front pops open so you can pour the water in, or you can flip open the top back if you want to pour it in faster. The cone shaped basket also pops open to the side and not from the top. There are plenty of programmable settings as well. I’m definitely happy I chose this particular coffee pot. The coffee tastes amazing too!!

    I ordered this coffee maker and it worked for about 7 days then it quick brewing half way through a pot and shut off. This happened a few times so I returned it and got a replacement. The replacement worked 2 days when I was brewing it right away. The first morning the timer was set I woke up to half a pot of coffee as the rest of the water leaked out overnight. I gave it another try the next day and the same thing. I have returned it for a refund.

    I’ve always used another brand “Mr. C” coffee makers. I was interested in trying this one when it appeared on Vine. Pros: – can pour water from the front and back – easy to use – makes very hot coffee – very easy to clean with a cone shaped basket – tells you when the entire maker needs cleaning (I use water and a little vinegar hit brew then do another with just water and it comes out perfect. I notice a strange taste of condensation water or something when it’s need of a cleaning) I do notice that this takes a bit longer to brew than my previous makers. I need to keep it set to brew bold or I find it a bit weak. Easy to set a timer. My coffee is always ready for me in the morning and you can also set an automatic timer to shut it off. I have been using this for over a month now and I like it so far.

    This coffee maker is easy to clean and keep clean. The front pull-out basket prevents coffee grounds from spilling into the basket. The brew feature lets you select the strength of your coffee. The warming feature keeps your coffee hot for a long period of time. The 14 cup pot is just enough coffee for my husband and I. We no longer have to make a cup of instant.

    This coffee maker has a mind of it’s own. Sometimes it shuts off after brewing even though the timer is set for 2 + hours. It’s frustrating when you wake up to not so hot coffee. I’m not impressed with this coffee maker.
